New Book Announcement

Hi Friends!

I have some exciting news. I am about to release my second book and I wanted to share the title with you.

The book is titled, DELAYED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

It’s been years in the making literally. God has been teaching me a lot about waiting on Him for everything and to be honest it has been intense. Waiting is not easy at all. There has been pain, disappointment, heartache, confusion along the way but God has been so patient with me. He has lovingly guided me and continues to because my journey of learning to wait is far from over. There is so much more to learn.

In the book I talk about my journey of waiting and the lessons God has been teaching me. So I am so excited to share my journey with you. The book is in its final stages of completion so expect it very soon.

But in the meantime I have created a free version (teaser) as you wait.

Click here to get a copy of it on email.

What are you waiting for? How long have you been waiting?

Always remember that God never makes you wait out of spite.

He makes you wait because He loves you.

God bless you friends.

Why the Delay God?

“Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, and then he said to his disciples, let us go back to Judea.”

John 11:5-7 ESV

As I read this scripture I couldn’t help but think why Jesus stayed two days longer where He was instead of going to Lazarus immediately? After all the Word tells us that He LOVED Martha, Mary and Lazarus.

Why did He delay?

Because He was about to something amazing. He knew Lazarus would die but He wanted to show everyone His glory. But He was the only One who knew what was about to happen. Mary and Martha on the other hand didn’t. And that must have been hard for them. They knew Jesus loved them so they expected Him to respond immediately but that’s not what happened.

“So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”

One thing we can be sure of is that Jesus did not delay because He was trying to be mean or because He enjoyed seeing people suffer. He loved this family.

As you wait on the Lord you need to remember that the Lord makes you wait because He loves you. Even in the midst of delays He loves you and Has a plan. Behind the delays there is love and I know that’s a difficult statement because delays are not an easy thing to deal with. It’s easy to think God has abandoned us or He doesn’t care about us when delays happen. But He does care and He loves you deeply. He knows exactly what you are feeling, the fears, the confusion, the anxiety, the frustration…

He knows it all. In John 11:35 we read a very popular verse,

“Jesus wept.”

He wept because He knew what the sisters were going through. He could identify with the pain they were feeling.

As you wait and as you face delays know that God loves you so much. He understands everything you are feeling and going through. Trust Him in the wait. Trust Him when the delays come.

The Lord has a plan in the wait and in the delays. Don’t lose hope. You are not alone in the wait. He is right by your side. His purposes for your life will be accomplished as you wait on Him in faith! And always remember that He loves you so much.

God bless you friends

Don’t Be Impatient

“When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

Exodus 32:1

If only the Israelites were patient.

But they were not and because they were impatient they sinned. God had not forgotten about them. He knew where they were and He had a plan for them but the people let impatience get the best of them. And also note that Moses did not tell them when he would be back but they had an expectation of when he was supposed to be back and that expectation got them into trouble.

I am not going to sit here and say waiting on God is easy because it’s not. Courage is needed, to wait on God’s timing. But you can be assured of this one thing, He knows where you are at and what you need. He loves you and He doesn’t make you wait just for the fun of it. There is always a reason for the wait and one of those reasons is love. He loves you so much and wants the best for you.

So I want to encourage you to continue waiting on the Lord. He will come through for you. Look to Him and His strength as you wait.

God bless you friends

Don’t stay there!!

I have been feeling overwhelmed lately.
I have been looking at various situations in my life and have
felt dejected.
It all feels hopeless.
I thought I was strong enough for the battle but
I was wrong.
I thought I could handle the pressure but
I was wrong.
The waiting is difficult
I look at the situations and realize there is nothing I can
do….there is nothing Rolain can do!

How many of you have been at that place?
How many of you have been at a place of
hopelessness, where hope has seemed to vanish?
A place where the problems seem too much, too big
for you to take on?

In all of my thinking a thought came to me.

I could either stay in that place, or I could look to
God, the One who is in control of my life.

I could stay in a place of hopelessness or
I could trust Him to turn things around.

I could stay in a place where I think nothing is
happening or I could chose to speak about the things
God is doing in my life even when I don’t see them?!

I could stay in this place and talk about how bad it is
Or I could praise God because He has a plan for me and is
Bringing it to pass….!

Remember this: If you are in that place, you have a choice. You can either stay in that place of hopelessness where you think God doesn’t seem to be doing anything or you can see all the amazing things He has in store for you!

It’s okay to have days where you feel overwhelmed, and so on but don’t stay there! Move to a place of faith! Move to a place where you can see God move because the truth of the matter is, He is always moving!

God has great things in store for you!
He has made your life beautiful.
He is leading you in ALL of your steps!

The doors will open…..

THOUGHT OF THE DAY.

If God opened the first door He will surely open the second,

third, fourth, fifth door……..

As God opens doors of opportunity for us we must rest and be

assured He will open the other doors.

No matter how impossible it seems know this:

He opened the first door so He will open the second door and

ALL the other doors! Wait on Him!

In this moment of waiting be thankful that He has opened

the first door. Meditate on it, realize it was no small thing!

The doors will open.

He is good indeed……

The key to breakthrough is……

We need prayer in our lives. Prayer is the key to the breakthrough we are
seeking in our lives. But how do we pray for the breakthrough?
Luke 11 has the answer.
“Here’s what I am saying:

Ask and you’ll get;

Seek and you’ll find;

Knock and the door will open.

Don’t bargain with God. Be direct.

This is not a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in.
Luke 11:9
It is that simple, actually too simple! But this is the thing. I have
had things I have asked for and sought which I still don’t have.
There are some things I have been waiting for weeks, months and years.
Are there things you have been praying for that you are still waiting for from God?
Has He forgotten or simply just ignored those requests? No!
The answer is in the story He tells before hand…..
“Then He said, “Imagine what would happen if you went to a friend in the middle of
the night and said, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread. An old friend travelling through
just showed up, and I don’t have a thing on hand.
The friend answers from his bed, don’t bother me. The door’s locked; my
children are all down for the night; I can’t get up to give you anything.
But let me tell you, even if he won’t get up because he’s a friend, if you stand your
ground, knocking and waking all the neighbours, he’ll finally get up and get you whatever you need.
Luke 11:5-8
There is a principle in this story that I totally believe in and apply. A principle that keeps me asking and stops me from giving up. The principle is this, Friendship is not enough at
times when it comes to prayer,
But let me tell you, even if he won’t get up because he’s a friend….
We have a relationship with God but that doesn’t mean He will hear us all the time. Sometimes we will need to be persistent! The friend gave the bread because of the persistence of the other friend!
There is a saying I have, Persistence will get you what friendship can’t. I even wrote a post about it some time ago. I can’t get into it right now but all you need to know is,
to get breakthrough you need to persist. Friendship will help at times but at other times we need something more.
The point is this. Be specific when you come to God in prayer. Be very clear. Ask, seek
and you will find. Then persist. If something doesn’t come through keep knocking,
keep seeking, and you will find! God is not trying to hide things from you. He has so
much in store for you. God bless.

What you need to know about times and seasons…..

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

When they were together for the last time they asked, “Master, are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel now? Is this the time?”

He told them, “You don’t get to know the time. Timing is the Father’s business. What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.”   Acts 1;6-8

I was reading my bible when this passage jumped out at me. After the resurrection Jesus was with his disciples and they asked Him about the restoration of Israel. His answer is what has been resonating within me.

“You don’t get to know the time. Timing is the Father’s business.”  Acts 1:7   (The Message)

I will stop right there. There have been so many things I have wondered about. When God, when? has been a frequent question. But the word is clear, Timing is the Father’s business! God knows where I am at, He knows where you at. He has not forgotten about you. Everything will happen at the right time. If things haven’t happened then the timing is not right yet.

Be patient and trust in the Lord. Whatever you are waiting for and trusting God for this year know that, Timing is the Father’s business!!!
