How Can We Win Against These Strong Enemies?

What should we do when life gets overwhelming and the troubles we face seem too much for us?

I was in a situation this past week and I was overwhelmed by the things I was facing. I felt discouraged

and felt like God wasn’t listening but I came across a scripture in my quiet time that recalibrated my thoughts

back to Him.

Life has a way at times of getting our minds off God, and driving us into some pretty dark and ugly tunnels and

that is why we need God’s word in our lives.

It recalibrates, and realigns our thoughts back to Him.

Let’s get into the word I read;

Perhaps you will think to yourselves, ‘How can we ever conquer these nations that are so much more powerful

than we are?’ But don’t be afraid of them! Just remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all the

land of Egypt.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Moses was addressing the people of Israel as they were about to enter the promise land. They would come up

against some very powerful enemies and Moses knew they would encounter times of fear, doubt and anxiety.

But he reminded them to REMEMBER, what God did to the Egyptians.

As powerful as the Egyptians were, God delivered and saved Israel from them. He defeated the Egyptians.

He also reminded them that God was with them.

“No, do not be afraid of those nations, for the Lord your God is among you, and he is a great and awesome God.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So if you are feeling overwhelmed by the troubles you face and the giants that are before you, remember what the

Lord has done for you. Remember the great deliverances He has delivered you with. Remember how He has answered

your prayers through the years and still continues to do so.

He is with you. You are not alone at any time, especially when trouble is at your door. God will deliver you like He has

done many times before. Keep holding onto your faith in Him.

Bless you friends

Bring it all to God.

“Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation]

under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you.

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns,

once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”

1 Peter 5:6, 7

I want to focus on the last part of that verse today. The word says to bring ALL your anxieties,

worries and concerns. But how many times do we try to deal with problems on our own.

I had to stop myself the other day from worrying, from trying to solve a problem on my own.

The truth is the Lord wants to fix every problem we face.

The call is to bring everything to Him. We don’t need to carry a single thing.

But because we have been taught to be strong we try to go at it alone. But all that will do is

tire you out. The more I try to go at it alone the more worn down and weighed down I feel.

Like I have said so many times before, the Lord is not impressed with our show of strength.

He is impressed with our faith in Him, with the confidence we put in His ability.

Give it all to Him and don’t hold on to anything.

Blessings to you friends.

When you don’t know what to do…

“After this, David inquired of the Lord saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah?

And the Lord said to him, Go up. David said, To which shall I go up?

And He said, To Hebron.”

2 Samuel 2:1

When David was faced with a difficult situation he sought the Lord. He sought the Lord for

answers whenever he could. He rarely did his own thing and seeking the Lord was why he

succeeded.

He never boasted to be the most intelligent or strongest. His confidence was in the Lord and it showed

in how he dealt with problems.

When he didn’t know the next step to take, the direction he was supposed to go or when a problem was

bigger than him he ran to God for help and answers.

I was encouraged by that. What happens when we are in over our head or when we are out of ideas?

What do we do when we are confronted by troubles that threaten to stop us dead in our tracks?

Do we look to people or to God?

Going to God should be the first thing we do. He will help us no matter what we face.

Going to God made a difference in David’s life.

Going to God gave him victories wherever he went.

Going to God gave him the answers he needed.

When you go to the Lord for help, He will step in and help you. Situations will change,

and problems will be solved when God gets involved.

The word is simple today.

When you don’t know what to do, ask the Lord for help.

When you need help against a powerful enemy ask the Lord for help.

Don’t try to do it on your own. The Lord is with you.

“David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver

them into my hand? And the Lord said to David, Go up, for I will surely deliver [them] into

your hand.”

2 Samuel 5:19

Bless you friends

Don’t carry that!

“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you;

He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall or fail).

Psalm 55:22

You can put it down now. You don’t have to carry that weight any longer. The Lord wants to carry

the burdens YOU are carrying. We go through life with the weight of the world on our shoulders

but that’s not the way it’s supposed to be. When we are under immense pressure we need to cast

it on to the Lord’s shoulders.

Remember, there is nothing too heavy for Him. There is no weight on earth or heaven that can

crush Him.  Sometimes we carry our burdens because we think He will let us down and will abandon

us when we need Him the most but God is not man. He is always faithful and will never ever

let us down.

You will not slip, fall or fail.

This doesn’t mean there will be no bad days, days you feel like giving up, or days you feel hopeless.

It means through it all you will not be moved.

When you fall you will get up.

When your back is against the wall the Lord will come in and save you.

When you are in chains, the Lord will rescue you, free you.

You will not be moved because the Lord is with you.

Cast it all to Him. Don’t leave one single thing. Learn to walk light.

“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns,

once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”

1 Peter 5:7

Give it all to Him. Your worries, your concerns, your fears, your anxieties, and your troubles.

He will help you with all the trouble you face. He knows what you going through and will not leave

you helpless.

Turn to Him today!

Bless you, friends

A time of endurance…

“So Moses and Aaron gathered all the elders of the Israelites.

Aaron told them everything that the Lord had told Moses.

Then Moses did the miracles for all the people to see. So the

Israelites believed. They heard that the Lord was concerned about them

and had seen their troubles. Then they bowed down and worshipped

Him.”

Exodus 4:29-31

The Israelites were in bondage for a really long time. Things had been really

difficult for them. So when Moses and Aaron told

them that God was concerned about them and had seen their troubles they must have

been encouraged.

But the hope they had quickly disappeared when the pressure intensified. The joy, the hope,

the faith they had was replaced with doubt, fear, and anxiety. They were not patient with the

Lord. They wanted the deliverance to happen that very instant.

“As they were leaving the meeting with the king, they met Moses and Aaron.

Moses and Aaron were waiting for them. So they said to Moses and Aaron, “May the

Lord punish you. You caused the king and his offices to hate us. You have given them

an excuse to kill us.”

Exodus 5:20, 21

That story spoke to me today. We need to endure as we wait for God’s promise

to materialize in our lives. His promise for our lives, our families, and our countries will be

contested against by the enemy. There is no way he is going to just sit and let you

stroll into what God has promised you. he is the adversary and by the very nature of

that name he opposes and fights against everything good that God has prepared for us.

The Israelites thought it would be a walk in the park but it wasn’t. They had to trust God with

all that they had. They had to believe His word was true. They had to endure.

God’s promise was true and He would deliver them and they needed to understand that no matter

how bad things got.

“He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold as a servant. His feet they hurt with fetters;

he was laid in chains of iron and his soul entered into iron.

Until his word [to his cruel brothers] came true until the word of the Lord tried and tested him.”

Psalm 105:17-19

When the promise seems like a fantasy we must keep trusting, we need to endure. His promise

is true, it will come to pass. The Lord is not a man that lies. His word is sure and if He promised

it will come to pass.  Difficulty doesn’t mean the promise won’t come to pass.

There is nothing that can stop the word of God from coming to pass.

Hold on in the storm. Endure, put your faith in Him.

He will fulfill what He promised you.

Bless you, friends…

Many evils………

I wonder at times why life has to be so hard and challenging.

Yes, there are good times, times of peace, times of joy but there

are difficult times, testing times, challenging times!

That is a truth we cannot escape! As long as we live on this earth

we will be faced with storms, times of testing, and times of distress!

But in the face of such truth there is another truth. A truth that

liberates us! It’s a truth that gives us hope, a truth that brings

clarity to the craziness we face on a daily basis!

“Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous ,

But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Psalm 34:19

The word says “MANY EVILS” confront the righteous! In other

versions It says, “many troubles”!

Doesn’t that make sense? The word is clear, MANY EVILS will

confront us!

The enemy is consistently trying to take us out. The “EVILS” are

different for everyone but have the same intended end,

destruction, loss of hope, death! This is the enemy we face but……

THERE IS GOOD NEWS FOR US ALL…….

Many evils will confront us but THE LORD DELIVERS US

OUT OF THEM ALL!!!!

No matter the “evil” God has the last say! He has delivered us out of

them all! Take heart…..

His word is true. We have hope, there is light at the end of the

tunnel.

We are not alone, the enemy will not win! No matter what you are

going through the enemy will not have victory! We serve a really

good God!

Meditate on this truth!

The Lord has delivered us from every evil and trouble that

confronts us…….

Amen
