God loves To Come Through For Us

“But she said, “I swear by the Lord your God that I don’t have a single piece of bread in the house.

And I have only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug.

I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I will die.”

1 Kings 17: 12

The widow at Zarephath was in a crisis. The little food she had left was about to run out.

She had gone to gather a few sticks she could use to cook the last meal for her and her son then die.

Like I said, crisis.

But God came through for her. He sent Elijah and when she obeyed him by making him a meal

first the Lord provided for her in an amazing way.

“So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days.

There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised

through Elijah.”

1 Kings 17:15, 16

I share this scripture because it teaches us a truth about our God – He loves to come through for us.

No matter how bad things get God has got your back.

No matter how deep you are in trouble, God will help you out.

When there seems to be no way out of the trouble you face, He will ALWAYS come through for you.

Throughout scripture we see this truth play out over and over and over.

With Daniel when he was thrown in the lions den

With David, when King Saul was hunting him down

When Hannah was being ridiculed for being barren

When the Israelites were trapped by the Red Sea as the Egyptians chased them

I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.

God loves to come through for you.

So in whatever trouble you find yourself no matter how bad it is, remember that

God is for you. He wants to help you.

Ask for His help always!

God Knows Where You Are

God has your address. He knows exactly where you are.

Whatever you are facing at the moment know that God knows. You are not alone.

This truth is shown in the story of Sarah and Hagar.

Sarah couldn’t have children so she let Abraham sleep with Hagar.

But when Hagar gave birth to a son, Sarah got jealous and after speaking to Abraham,

chased her away.

Hagar wandered in the desert and was in trouble but God knew exactly where she was, not just

physically but spiritually. He knew what she was going through.

In the desert alone God found her and blessed her by telling her the plans he had for her son.

“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: You are the God who sees me,”

for she said, I have now seen the One who sees me.”

Genesis 16:13

We serve a God who sees us where ever we are.

I also think of Jonah who tried to run away from the Lord. He found him and provided a huge fish

to shallow him.

In the deep, in the heart of the earth where no man could hear Jonah’s cries for help God knew exactly

where he was. In a place where no man could reach him God reached him. He heard his prayer and

delivered him.

“In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me.

From the deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.”

Jonah 2:2

As I close know the Lord knows exactly where you are.

You are not alone in whatever you are going through.

Bless you friends

When The Enemy Has Appeared To Have Won, God Steps In!

“When Uriah’s wife heard that her husband was dead, she mourned for him.

After the time of mourning was over, David had her brought to his house,

and she became his wife, and bore him a son.

But the thing David had done displeased the Lord.’

2 Samuel 11:26, 27

We all know the story.

David slept with Bathsheba and to hide what he did, he got Uriah her husband killed.

That was a dark season in David’s life, if not THE darkest.

All seemed lost for him. The enemy appeared to have won against him but God stepped

in! He intervened in David’s hopeless situation.

He stepped in and pulled David out of the dark pit he was in.

When Nathan the prophet confronted David he was quick to confess his sin and received

forgiveness. But there was more…

“And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in into her, and lay with her:

and she bare a son, called his name Solomon: and the Lord loved him.”

2 Samuel 12:24, 25

As I read that verse I had a thought. Why didn’t Solomon come from David’s other wife Abigail?

She was amazing and had less “baggage.”

But I believe God used Bathsheba because He wanted to make a statement.

God took the darkest and ugliest situation in David’s life and turned it around.

The enemy’s proof of victory was no more. The “souvenir” he kept with pride was now turned

into a testimony of God’s goodness, mercy and power.

He could no longer brag about the destruction he caused in David’s life because God redeemed

the situation!

And God will do the same for you and me.

He will take the enemy’s victories and turn them around into powerful testimonies of His goodness,

mercy and power!

Even if you have messed up big time and it seems like the enemy has won, he hasn’t. The Lord

has the final say. When He steps in there is nothing the enemy can do to stop Him.

Forgiveness, mercy and grace are a prayer away. Call on the Lord for help when you are in trouble.

Call on Him when sin has made you stumble.

He wants to help you.

And with that I have come to the end of the post.

No Matter How Bad Things Get, God Is With You.

I was having one of “those days” a few days ago.

You know, those days your faith is low and things don’t seem to be

happening. My prayers didn’t seem to be getting answered and for a

little bit, I thought God didn’t care. I actually thought He was ignoring me!

But later that day, the answer to my prayer came and God proved once again,

He can be trusted. I don’t like it when I doubt God and when I do it makes me

wonder. But I guess that’s part of the downside of being human. We are not

perfect and we make mistakes and that’s why we need a Savior, Jesus.

As I journaled the events of the day I penned these words, which are the title

of this blog post,

“No matter how bad things get, God is with me”

And it’s true. You may be having a bad day but I want to encourage you with this

truth. In the bible we see this truth in action.

In Luke 7:12-16 we see Jesus arriving to a city called Nain and there is a funeral procession

happening. A woman has lost her only son and she is going to bury him. Things are

really bad for her but at that moment, she meets Jesus. I don’t believe it was an accident

Jesus being there. I believe He went there FOR her. He wanted to help her at her lowest point.

And He did just that. He raised her son from the dead and gave him back to her.

When things were at their worst for the woman, Jesus stepped in and turned things

around for her.

So even when your hope and faith fail, remember, Jesus doesn’t fail.

He knows what you are going through and there is no problem you go through, that

God doesn’t see. Trust in Him no matter what happens.

Bless you friends!

Who can rescue us in times of trouble?

On this earth there will be trials, challenges and struggles. That’s a given.

We have an enemy who wants to take us out, who doesn’t want us to complete what

God put us here to do.

And even today, you may be going through some extremely difficult things with no answer in sight,

the bills keep coming but the account balance is on zero, trouble after trouble comes your way….

I want to encourage you that we serve a God who rescues and His name is Jesus.

There is a story I would like to talk about that enforces this important truth.

“But if you refuse, you will be thrown immediately into the burning furnace. And then

what god will be able to rescue you from my power?”

Daniel 3:15

Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were in serious trouble. The king made an image and

commanded everyone to bow down to it but the three Hebrew young men refused. The king

gave them another opportunity and in his eyes he thought he had won. He didn’t know the

God they served. He didn’t know their God was a God who rescues;

“And then what god will be able to rescue you from my power?”

We are not alone in this. The Lord is with us as we face all the trials and tribulations that come

our way. When the three Hebrew young men were thrown into the fire the king jumped from

his seat because he saw four men and fourth Man looked like the son of God!

Jesus was with them in the fire. He never abandoned them and He won’t abandon us.

And even as I write this I am reminded of so many other stories of how God saves His people.

When Peter was in prison and Herod had planned to execute him the next day, surrounded

by soldiers, the angel of the Lord led him out of the prison to freedom.

The Israelites were being chased by the Egyptians who had a change of heart after letting them go.

But as they fled they were stopped by the Red Sea. On one side were the Egyptians and on the

other side, the Red Sea. It seemed like there was no where to go but God Almighty made a

way for them and parted the Red Sea! He rescued them in an amazing way.

Then there was Daniel. Some jealous people wanted to take him out so they got him thrown into the

lions den. It seemed a sure thing that his life was over but God rescued him in the lion’s den.

And this is the God we serve. He is the God who rescues.

Listen to what the king said after the Hebrew young men came out of the furnace,

“There is no other god who can rescue like this.”

Daniel 3:29

And let’s read what King Darius declared after Daniel was rescued from the lions,

“He rescues and He saves: He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth.

He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

Daniel 6:27

So as I close, remember the God who rescues. Call on Him and know He will act because

“There is no other god who can rescue like this.”

I will leave you with one of my favorite all time songs, Came to my rescue

Focus on Him, not the waves…

Life can be really tough right and what makes it worse is when we focus all our energy and attention on

the problems we are facing. We worry, stress out, fear, panic and fret as we dwell upon all the problems

we face but there is a better way.

I was stressing out this week. Things were not going well and I was panicking and anxious but I remembered

Peter.

In faith, Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water but as he was approaching the

Lord the word says he began to be aware of his surroundings (the enormous waves and the wind)

and became frightened and began to sink. (read Matthew 14:27-30)

“Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and caught and held him, saying to him,

O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Matthew 14: 27-31

As long as Peter set his gaze upon the Lord he walked on water but when he took his eyes off the

Lord and focused on what was happening around him he began to sink and I know that’s what

was happening to me. But the Lord wants me to keep my eyes on Him in the midst of the trouble that

comes my way.

What are you focused on today?

Are you focused on your problems more than the Lord?

Consider  Psalm 91:14, 15:

“Because he has focused his love on Me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows

my name. When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will

deliver him, and I will honor him.”

The enemy would like us to get our minds off Christ. he doesn’t want us being victorious. he loves

it when we are in bondage, in fear, anxious and stressed.

But the Lord wants us to be free. He wants us to receive the answers and solutions we need to

the problems we are facing.

Let’s stop focusing on the waves. Let us focus on the Lord no matter how terrifying the storm is.

He is bigger than any storm we will ever face and that is why He wants us to focus on Him!

Bless you, friends…

He delivers us from trouble.

“For He has delivered me out of every trouble, and my eye has

looked [in triumph] on my enemies.”

Psalm 54:7

What trouble are you facing today? God will deliver you.

Which giant is standing in your way? God will move him out of your way.

The enemy thinks he is powerful but is not. he is under the impression that he has a

chance against you but he is so wrong. Because God is with you, victory is yours!

God will deliver you out of EVERY trouble you face, not some troubles but EVERY trouble.

That is the truth.

As I end I want to share a testimony of what God did for me.

Things have been pretty crazy in the country right now and our economy is in a bit of a

state with everything doubling or tripling in price but salaries staying the same.

So a few days ago I went to the shop to buy groceries because I had run out but as I swiped to pay

I had the dreaded insufficient funds message! I panicked a bit as the month is not

yet over. My mind started racing. How was I going to survive the next week and a

half with no money? How was I going to do when I ran out of fuel?? It was crazy.

But when I got home I remembered to pray about my problem. So I did. I brought it

to God.

A few days after that a friend blessed me with some money! He didn’t know I had nothing.

The money would get me to the end of the month and help me with the things I was worried about.

All praise to God.  I hope that testimony encourages you and helps you to realize the

Lord will deliver you from every trouble you are facing.

Call to Him. Tell Him what you going through. Ask for His help. Don’t remain silent.

He will come to your rescue.

Bless you, friends…

How to respond in difficult times…

“So Potiphar arrested Joseph and put him into prison. This prison was where the king’s

prisoners were put. And Joseph stayed there in the prison. But the Lord was with Joseph

and showed him kindness. The Lord caused the prison warden to like Joseph.”

Genesis 39:20, 21

Joseph was having a really tough time in Egypt. Firstly he was sold into slavery by his brothers,

then he was falsely accused by his master’s wife which put him into prison. It’s important to

note and understand that the hardships he was facing did not limit God’s power in his life.

God didn’t stop moving in Joseph’s life because he was in a bad place. In slavery God was working,

in prison, being falsely accused, God was at work in his life.

No matter how bad things are in your life God is still working. The difficult things around

you don’t limit Him one single bit. He is not looking at what’s happening around you to move.

He is looking at your faith. Will you still look to Him when things are difficult?

Will you allow what’s happening around you to determine how big you dream? Are you going to

wait for circumstances to get better before you move in faith or will you start trusting Him where

you are right now??

I am fully convinced God is moving in your life even when the world around you is falling apart.

Don’t let the bad things that are happening around you determine how must live.

Put your trust in God and move with Him.

Bless you, friends…

When courage is lost.

“[Those aboard] mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the deeps;

their courage melts away because of their plight.

They reel to and fro and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wits end [all their

wisdom has come to nothing].

Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses.”

Psalm 107:23-30

“Their courage melts away because of their plight”

I can understand that. Life throws things that have the potential to melt away your

courage. It can throw things that render you hopeless and weak.

Situations that leave you clueless and powerless.

But what I want to look at and discus is how you deal with those situations. There will always

be giants stronger than us. We will always be faced with hard things that we don’t have answers to.

But knowing how to deal with those situations will make all the difference.

Psalm 107:23 paints a vivid picture for us. There were sailors out at sea and a storm

arose. The sailors knew a lot about the sea and you would expect that knowledge would help them,

but it didn’t. Their wisdom came to nothing. With all their experience and knowledge there was

nothing they could do. They didn’t have answers.

All hope they had of being saved was crushed. Their courage was lost.

But things turned around because of one thing and one thing alone, God. Their situation turned around

not because they were skilled, not because they were sailors and had tons of experience, and not because

of their strength.

When they cried out to God in their trouble He heard and saved them. The bible says it this way,

“Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses.”

When you are at your wits end, when your courage is lost because of the enormity of the

storm cry out to God. He doesn’t expect you to deal with the storm by yourself. He expects you to call Him.

He expects you to trust Him in the fiercest of storms.

When the sailors cried out to God, He delivered them from their distress.

What are you going through today? What trouble are you facing?

Has your courage gone because of your plight? Is your hope lost?

Don’t lose heart in the storm.

God is with you and He will carry you through.

Bless you friends

He hears me always…..!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

“When I was in trouble, I called to the Lord.

And He answered me.”

Psalm 120:1

There is a place to run to when we are in trouble.

There is a Person to turn to when things go bad.

His name is Yeshua. He hears our prayers. He ALWAYS hears us.

Pray to Him with confidence. When you are in trouble call out to Him.

He wants to help you. He wants to carry you out of the pit you are in. Put aside the lie that says He is

not listening. It’s not true.

“I love the Lord, because He has heard [and now hears] my voice and my supplications.

Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.”

Psalm 116:1, 2

He hears and He answers. That’s the way He does it. Don’t remain silent. Open your mouth and

pray to Him as long as you live……

Bless you
