Mountains

What mountains are you facing at the moment?

No matter what mountain you are facing there is something I want to remind you of – that God is bigger and greater

than any and every mountain you are facing and will ever face.

The devil’s hope is that the mountains in our lives will stop us in our tracks. He hopes that fear will get us to doubt

God’s greatness and power.

And to be honest, I was feeling overwhelmed a few days ago by the mountains in my life. I could even say fear began to

grow the more I analyzed the mountains. I looked at my strength and resources and saw how painfully lacking I was to

deal with the mountains and that’s how the fear, the hopelessness, and anxiety came. But I was reminded that God is

bigger and greater than the mountains I face as I brought my fears to Him. God wants you to talk to Him about what you

are struggling with always. He cares about what you are going through.

There is no mountain that God can’t take deal with.

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerrubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by

power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain:

Zechariah 4:6

I also think about the Israelites who were by the “gate” of their promise land but instead of trusting God and possessing

what He promised them, they looked at how powerful their “mountain” was compared to themselves.

That’s where they made the mistake. Instead of comparing the “mountain” to God, they compared the “mountain” to

themselves and that’s where we hear words like grasshoppers appear.

We can’t overcome mountains in our own strength. We need God period.

Bring your mountains to Him and remember that He is bigger and greater than every mountain that you are facing!

Bless you friends.

Wait For His Victory!

“Let all that I am wait quietly before God,

for my hope is in him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation,

my fortress where I will not be shaken.

My victory and honor come from God alone.”

Psalm 62:6, 7 ESV

“My victory and honor come from God alone”

At times we try to be victorious by using our own strength, and intelligence.

We look to man for answers and to come through for us but at the end of the day, the truth is,

Victory comes from God alone.

I am at a place where I want God’s victory because it is unending, permanent. Man’s victory has an expiry date and ending.

But not so with God.

“The king is not saved by his great army,

a warrior is not delivered by his great strength

The war horse is a false hope for salvation and by its great might it cannot rescue.

Psalm 33:16, 17 ESV

It’s very clear. Our strength is not enough. We need something stronger, SOMEONE stronger!

We need God!

“Our soul waits for the LORD;

he is our help and our shield.

For our heart is glad in him,

because we trust in his holy name.”

Psalm 33:20, 21 ESV

Let’s wait on the Lord for victory. He wants us to invite Him into our battles.

You don’t have to fight the battle alone. Cry out to Him for help.

This Is How God Delights In Us!

“By this I know that you delight in me;

my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.”

Psalm 41:11

I love this verse. As I read it I got excited and I knew I had to share it with you.

Because God delights in us He will not let our enemies shout in triumph over us.

Whatever battle you are in at the moment, take heart that God will not let the enemy be victorious over you.

The enemy will not win over you. You may fall but you will get up and be victorious all because God loves you and delights

in you!

And don’t let the devil or anyone else for that matter tell you that God doesn’t care for you. Don’t let the negative voices

lie to you that you are unloved and alone because they are all lies. God cares for you and is for you. He thinks about you

all the time and loves you.

“How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than

the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.”

Psalm 139:17

God delights in you!

He loves you!

And because of that you will be victorious!

Your enemies will not triumph over you!

Bless you friends.

How to Overcome Insecurities As You Walk In God’s Calling.

I don’t know about you but I feel inadequate often when it comes to God’s purposes for my life. I look at the things He is leading me into and I am like, how am I going to do this Lord? And with that comes the insecurities. Thoughts like,

I am not worthy

I am not qualified

Who am I to do this?

Where do I even start?

And so many more like thoughts ravage my mind.

Recently I was feeling very insecure but God reminded me of a few things that I want to encourage you with if you are facing the same feelings of insecurity.

  • God’s purpose for your life will always be infinitely greater than your current abilities and strengths
  • He knows very well that you are not able to accomplish His purpose in your own strength.
  • He is very in tune with your weaknesses and failings but in His grace and mercy He has still chosen you!
  • He wants you to trust Him wholeheartedly every step of the way because that’s the only way you can accomplish what He has called you to.

Another thing I realized is that the devil wants you to focus on your weaknesses, and sins so that you can disqualify yourself from God’s calling. Remember Moses.

When God called him, what did he do? Instead of saying yes Lord, he started giving excuses why he wasn’t the right candidate. Excuse after excuse he gave until he pleaded,

“But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else”

Exodus 4:13

The answer to feeling overwhelmed and out of your depth is not digging in and going at it alone in your own strength but it’s diving deeper into God and seeking His strength and wisdom.

Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy. You are enough because God calls you His son and daughter. He chose you not because you were strong enough, clever enough, rich enough, born in the right neighborhood, or because you went to the right school. It’s because He loved you and extended grace to you.

Whatever you do, don’t talk yourself out of his purpose. Take your insecurities to Him and drop them at His feet. Unpack every burden you feel and don’t hold anything back.

The Lord has amazing things planned for you so trust Him every step of the way.

The Illusion Of Strength

“The king is not saved by his great army;

a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.

The war horse is a false hope for salvation,

and by its great might it cannot rescue.”

Psalm 33:16, 17

There is a tendency at times to try to go through life on our own. We try to show God we

got everything under control. We think He is impressed with our show of power, intelligence

and wit so we “power through” life when we should be looking to Him for strength.

You carry the weight of the world on your shoulders and think it’s cool but it’s not.

In the world, showing how strong, independent, powerful you are is celebrated. We see this

in terms like “self made man or woman” But it’s not so in God’s kingdom.

He wants you to trust Him. He wants you to give up control and let Him take the steering wheel.

Surrender to Him in faith. Let Him do the heavy lifting.

I was working on a project recently and was getting frustrated and overwhelmed. As I stopped

to see what was going on I realized I was going at it in my strength. I never asked God for help.

I repented and asked Him to help me. I stopped trying to figure things out on my own and started

praying more and seeking His guidance.

He wants us to rely on His strength, not our strength.

Turn to Him for help always.

“He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the Lord’s delight is in those

who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.”

Psalm 147:10, 11

How To Talk To “Giants”

How do you speak to the giants that come against you?

As I read the Bible this week there was a story that made me think about that.

There is a way we are meant to speak to giants. We are not supposed to

cower away in fear or terror because God is our Protector.

He is so much stronger than the giants we face

I was reading the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:45-47 and there

were a few things that stuck out to me that I would like to share about how we

should speak to giants.

  • David didn’t talk to Goliath about his strength. He spoke about God’s strength and power.
  • David knew the battle wasn’t his but the Lord’s. He knew that the God who delivered him from lion and the bear would deliver him from Goliath.
  • David never negotiated or pleaded with Goliath. He TOLD him what was going to happen to him.
  • Because David had faith in God, he knew he was going to win.

We don’t have to let giants determine what happens to us.

Our faith in God will make us see giants differently and will make us talk differently because that’s what

happened to David. He didn’t run away in terror when he saw Goliath, he defeated him and told him

he was going to kill him.

Keep trusting the Lord and don’t let go. Let your faith be the driving force behind the words and actions

you speak and take against the giants that come against you.

And before I go I have some exciting news.

When The Battle Seems Lost, You Have Help.

“Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shem,

and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord

helped us.”

1 Samuel 7:12

The Philistines came against Israel to wipe them out. They were strong

and powerful. It seemed like Israel had no chance but Samuel prayed

to the Lord for help and his prayer was heard.

He fought for Israel and won against the Philistines.

The Lord is your Stone of help. When it seems like the enemy is winning,

remember that you have help, God’s help. Call on Him in your time of

trouble. Don’t fear or lose hope. You have victory because God is your Helper!

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10
