There Is A Reason To Wait.

“And the king said, “All this misery is from the LORD! Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?”

2 Kings 6:33 NLT

Waiting can be so hard. It really isn’t for the faint of heart.

But we wait even though it’s hard because the LORD is faithful and good.

He doesn’t make us wait for nothing!

He doesn’t make YOU wait for nothing!

He will never waste your wait.

The Israelite king was frustrated and was in despair. His people were under siege and the food ran out.

People were desperate and he blamed Elisha. So he sent a messenger to take off Elisha’s head but he also sent him with a message,

“Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?”

At times it feels like that. It’s hard to see the benefit of waiting when nothing seems to be happening or when things are actually getting worse.

But I want to encourage you to continue holding on and waiting on the LORD. He knows exactly where you are. He will breakthrough for you very soon. He will answer your prayers shortly.

You just need not to give up. I read a quote that I love that I want to share with you,

Good things come to those who Believe,

Better things come to those who are patient

and the best things come to those who Don’t Give Up.

unknown

I love that.

DON’T GIVE UP friends.

God will never fail you. He cares about you and knows what you are going through.

And He loves you so much.

“I wait quietly before God,

for my victory comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation.”

Psalm 62:1, 2 ESV

Bless you friends

Don’t Be Impatient

“When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

Exodus 32:1

If only the Israelites were patient.

But they were not and because they were impatient they sinned. God had not forgotten about them. He knew where they were and He had a plan for them but the people let impatience get the best of them. And also note that Moses did not tell them when he would be back but they had an expectation of when he was supposed to be back and that expectation got them into trouble.

I am not going to sit here and say waiting on God is easy because it’s not. Courage is needed, to wait on God’s timing. But you can be assured of this one thing, He knows where you are at and what you need. He loves you and He doesn’t make you wait just for the fun of it. There is always a reason for the wait and one of those reasons is love. He loves you so much and wants the best for you.

So I want to encourage you to continue waiting on the Lord. He will come through for you. Look to Him and His strength as you wait.

God bless you friends

Patiently endure.

God will accomplish and bring to pass what He has promised but in the meantime we

need to patiently endure.

As the Israelites travelled through the desert, the Lord promised them a land flowing

with milk and honey. He would stay true to what He promised them and get them there

but they needed to be patient and they needed to endure but that didn’t happen. Let’s

read what happened to them;

“And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of

Edom, and the people became impatient (depressed, much discouraged) because [of the trials]

of the way.

Numbers 21:3, 4

And as we know they failed to possess the Promise Land because they doubted the Lord. They didn’t

hold on to His promises when things were hard and disqualified themselves. Waiting on God’s

promises takes courage.

If you are in that space of feeling overwhelmed, depressed and discouraged then I want to urge you

to keep holding onto faith. The Lord is Faithful and True and will not let you down.

“So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always

keeps His promises.”

Hebrews 10:23 TPT

God ALWAYS keeps His promises.

As I close I want to encourage you to never give up. The Lord cares about you and the things that

are on your heart. Bring Him your worries and concerns consistently.

And be courageous and patiently endure with the understanding that He always keeps His promises

to you.

“This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep His commands

and remain faithful to Jesus.”

Revelation 14:12

Blessings to you friends

Turning potential into something tangible and real.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Everyone is born with potential. There is not a single person born without it.

How many times have you been told you have potential? I can’t count the amount of times

I have been told so.

But I was thinking about something that can nullify the incredible potential we all have, and that

thing is our beliefs.

Beliefs are stronger than potential

A person with the most incredible potential to be a soccer star will crash and burn if he doesn’t believe he can

be a soccer star. If he believes in his heart he cannot be a great soccer player then that’s that.

There is nothing that is going to change the end result. Only by Yeshua”s grace can the result be changed.

We need to look at the beliefs we have today. They really are powerful. Let’s not treat them lightly.

Potential cannot turn into anything substantial and tangible if the belief is wrong.

This spoke to me deeply.

It is absolutely vital to scrutinize the beliefs we hold about our lives. The Lord has an amazing

purpose for our lives, filled with much potential, and much promise but holding the wrong beliefs

is one of the things that can stop us dead in our tracks.

We need the Lord’s help in this area. He can show us where we are holding the wrong beliefs.

Look at Yeshua’s promises for you. Are the beliefs that you have helping you achieve them or

hindering you?

He wants you to reach your full potential friends. He wants to help you overcome

outdated beliefs. Moses and Gideon are really good examples of this. They had some warped

beliefs about themselves but in His patience and grace Yeshua changed the negative beliefs they

had. Before they could move forward the limiting beliefs they held on to had to be addressed. Those

beliefs had to go. It’s the same for us. Old beliefs that are limiting us need to go, beliefs that are hindering

progress need to go. It’s not an easy task by any means. We need the Lord to help us. He is the One

who can help get over outdated beliefs. He is the One that can help us get new ones….

Blessings to you friends…..

For His glory…..

image

“Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind

from birth.

And His disciples asked Him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned,

this man or his parents, that he was born blind?

Jesus answered, Neither this man nor his parents sinned,

but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

John 9:1-3

Isn’t it interesting how the disciples immedaitely pointed

to sin as the reason for the man being in the situation he was

in. Even Job had the same problem. His friends thought sin

was behind all the misfortune that befell him but that was

not the truth. It wasn’t true for Job, for the blind man and

it’s not true for you!

Jesus answered, neither this man nor his parents sinned, but

that the works of God should be revealed in Him.

John 9:3

I had a thought, maybe you haven’t received your

breakthrough because God wants to reveal His glory

and greatness through your situation!

Please get me here, I am not saying we must cross out

ourselves out as the problem. We could be the problem

to a lot of the problems we are facing. But what I am trying

to say is that there are things that are happening or

not happening because God wants to reveal His goodness

and glory in HIS time!

When the blind man received his sight that was a testimony

of how great God is but it happened at the right time.

When Job got his life back God got the glory even though

it didn’t make sense in the beginning. He didn’t

understand why the things that were happening were

happening. But God knew!

The problem comes when we look at how other people

are living and we begin to compare our lives to theirs.

Your life is in God’s hands and He is directing it. He has

a plan for you and it will come to pass.

Always remember, He wants to reveal His goodness and

greatness through you.

Hannah was in the same situation. She was barren but

wanted children. She could have wondered why that was

so. Did she think God favored Peninnah over her? Maybe.

Whatever the case, she was not in a good place. But God had

a plan. He would reveal His wonderful acts through Hannah!

Peninnah could bear children but Hannah bore Samuel!

It was worth the wait…..

I have to constantly remind myself that God has a plan

for me. He has not forgotten about me. Even if it seems

like it. My friends have moved on with thier lives. They

have families of their own, and so on and here I still am

waiting on God. But I am not upset. He has a plan.

His goodness and greatness will be manifested through

me I believe. I may not understand why some things

are the way they are but I trust God does…..and that’s

all that matters!

Don’t be discouraged friends. He will come through for you.

He will be magnified though your life. People won’t help

but praise God because of the things that are happening

in your life. He is so good!

Rolain

Will you wait….???

Be strong and let your heart take courage,

all you who wait for and hope for and expect

the Lord!

Psalm 31:24

If you think waiting on God is a walk in the

park think again……

If you have really waited on God you will

know the truth. It’s a fight to wait.

Psalm 31 captures it perfectly.

Waiting is not for the faint of heart.

The word says take courage!

There have been things I have been waiting

on God for. I have been waiting for months

and years! It’s been such a test. But do I regret

the wait? Not on your life. The waiting was needed.

It played an important part in my growth as a son

of God and it still does…..!

You see, waiting reveals where you are really

at with God. It reveals your heart.

The Israelites saw that they were in trouble.

They felt trapped. They ran away to hide in

caves and cracks in the rock. They hid among

the rocks, in wells, and in other holes in the

ground.

Some Hebrews even went across the Jordan

river to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul was

still at Gilgal. All the men in his army were

shaking in fear.

Samuel said he would meet Saul at Gilgal.

Saul waited there seven days. But Samuel

had not yet come to Gilgal, and the soilders

began to leave Saul. So Saul said, “Bring

me the burnt offerings and the fellowship

offerings.” Then Saul offered the burnt

offering.

As soon as Saul finished offering that sacrifice,

Samuel arrived. Saul went out to meet him.

Samuel asked, “What have you done?”

1 Samuel 13:6-11

There is such an important lesson in this story.

Waiting is its own kind of fire. The offering of the

burnt offering was reserved for the priest but

Saul even though was king did it.

God has a reason for making us wait and even

though we don’t understand we must wait. I

have been waiting for a long time for a lot

of things. It has been hard I must admit but I

see it’s what I must do.

God is in control even though it’s hard to see

at times.

If you are waiting for God, be strong. It takes a

strong person to wait on the Lord.

Let your heart take courage. The enemy wants us

to panic and take matters in our own hands.

Waiting is one of the greatest acts of trust we can

perform to God.

Impatience shows God our lack of trust in Him.

God’s promise to you may take weeks, months or

years but wait!! He can be trusted…….

He is working in the waiting! Some of His most

important work happens in the waiting so don’t

despise it.

Don’t lose heart….

You are on His heart….

He has not forgotten about you…..

He is true to His word…..

Amen

The doors will open…..

THOUGHT OF THE DAY.

If God opened the first door He will surely open the second,

third, fourth, fifth door……..

As God opens doors of opportunity for us we must rest and be

assured He will open the other doors.

No matter how impossible it seems know this:

He opened the first door so He will open the second door and

ALL the other doors! Wait on Him!

In this moment of waiting be thankful that He has opened

the first door. Meditate on it, realize it was no small thing!

The doors will open.

He is good indeed……

What You Didn’t Know About Waiting On God…..

Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for and hope for and expect the Lord!   Psalm 31:24

I read this yesterday and it just hit me how true this scripture is. Some people think waiting on God is easy, a walk in the park but wait until you actually have to wait….. It is anything but easy!! For some odd reason God likes to take His time!!!   🙂  There is so much that comes with the term “waiting”. It is not a passive word. When we wait on the Lord there is action that needs to take place, there are decisions that need to be made, there is a new way of seeing things that needs to happen. The word of God uses words like, “be strong” and “let your heart take courage”. Waiting on God is not for the faint-hearted.

There are going to be a lot of things that will try to dissuade you from waiting on God. The enemy doesn’t want you to wait because it’s reflecting your faith in God. He would rather have you fret and worry and try to do things in your own strength. Waiting stops you from leaning on your own understanding. When a problem arises we will naturally think of a way out and implement it, not so when God is in the picture. God wants us to rely on His understanding even if it doesn’t make sense in our natural minds. Waiting on God suffocates the natural fleshly way of thinking and allows God to rule and reign in a situation. Waiting on God in a situation helps expose the heart, your heart. If you have done anything or asked anything out of a wrong heart, waiting on God will surely expose it.

I love the quote that says, God doesn’t measure your journey in days or weeks or months. He shapes the broad strokes of your life with a brush called “years”.

The conclusion of the matter is, God knows your number. He has not forgotten you but at the same time you need to realize it’s a battle to wait on God. You may be waiting on God but the answer has not yet come and you are about to give up. Don’t give up, keep holding on to  your faith. God will breakthrough on your behalf. Fight to wait on God, Don’t let the enemy lie to you. Your promise is around the corner. Waiting is not for the faint-hearted. Ask God for the strength to wait on Him…….

Can we look to God when we sin?

I was reading a very well known passage of Scripture this morning during devotional. I read it and spoke to God and left for work. But during the day I had a revelation about that chapter. At Bible School I was taught to read Scripture in context and this chapter is crazy. The chapter I read was Psalm 78. It talks about the mercy of God, the patience of God, and the love of God.

Can we look to God when we sin? I believe this scripture answers the question very well. Let us go through a list of things Israel did while they were in the desert:

–          The children of Ephraim were armed and carrying bows, yet they turned back in the day of battle. They kept not the covenant of God and refused to walk according to His law and forgot His works and His wonders that He had shown them. (Ps. 78:9-11)

–          And they tempted God in their hearts by asking for food according to their [selfish] desire and appetite. They spoke against God; they said, Can God furnish [the food for] a table in the wilderness? (Ps. 78;18,19)

I will stop there for a bit and highlight something. In Psalm 78:22, 23 it says: “Because in God they believed not [they relied not on Him, they adhered not to Him], and they trusted not in His salvation (His power to save). Yet He commanded the clouds above and opened the doors of heaven;

God still had mercy on them. He never withdrew His hand from them despite all the crazy things they were doing. God will forgive you and has forgiven you if you will let Him in. We don’t fully understand God’s mercy. Don’t let the devil lie to you into thinking that God can’t get past your sin no matter how “bad” you may think it is. God can get past your sin and He has….

Let us continue and take a look at more of Israel’s “sins”.

–          The wrath of God came down upon them and slew the strongest and sturdiest of them and smote down Israel’s chosen youth. In spite of all this, they sinned still more, for they believed not in (relied not on and adhered not to Him for) His wondrous works. (Ps. 78:31,32)

–          Nevertheless they flattered Him with their tongues. For their hearts were not right or sincere with Him, neither were they faithful and steadfast to His covenant. (Ps. 78:36,37)

–          And time and again they turned back and tempted God, provoking and incensing the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not [seriously the miracles of the working of] His hand, nor the day when He delivered them from the enemy. (Ps. 78:41).

–          Yet they tempted and provoked and rebelled against the Most High God and kept not His testimonies. But they turned back and dealt unfaithfully and treacherously like their fathers; they were twisted like a warped and deceitful bow [that will not respond to the archer’s aim]. For they provoked Him to [righteous] anger with their high places [for idol worship] and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images. When God heard this, He was full of [holy] wrath; and utterly rejected Israel, greatly abhorring and loathing [her ways], so that He forsook the tabernacle at Shiloh, the tent in which He dwelt among men [and never returned to it again], (Ps. 78:56-60)

This is where a lot of people usually stop. Israel did crazy things, they went overboard. But if we are to fully understand the chapter we must read it in context. Up to this point we see them worshiping idols, tempting God, provoking Him and rebelling against Him. Can you imagine, incensing God??? But let us read the last part of Psalm 78 because this is what counts! It says,

Then the Lord awakened as from sleep, as a strong man whose consciousness of power is heightened by wine. And He smote His adversaries in the back [as they fled]; He put them to lasting shame and reproach. (Ps. 78:65, 66)

I believe this scripture was speaking of the enemies of Israel.  He still fought on Israel’s behalf even after all they did. After rejecting God, turning their backs on Him and so on God still had their backs!

I don’t know what sin you in but please know that God is a gracious God. He wants you to turn back to Him. Don’t think your sin is too much for God because it isn’t.

But at the same, don’t take advantage of God’s grace. The first few generations of Israel died. They took God’s forgiveness for granted. Some were killed and punished because of their rebellion. God is a holy God and He will not entertain a blatant disregard of His ways. In Numbers 16 we see how holy God is.

Please don’t take God’s grace and mercy for granted. If you want to change and are sincere forgiveness and grace are available no matter what you have done! Your sin can be forgiven. He knows that we were born into sin. He doesn’t expect us to be perfect. You just have to do your part, turn to Him!!!

Can we look to God even when we sin? The answer is Yes!
