A thought about the impossible!

“Lord,”Martha said to Jesus, “if You had been here, my

brother would not have died.

But I know that even now God will give You whatever you ask.”

Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

Martha answered, “I know he will rise in the resurrection

at the last day.”

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The

one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.

Do you believe this?

John 11:21-26

I had to share the whole passage with you because it’s key to

what I want to speak on today. I was supposed to share

what I am about to share with you last week but something

happened last week to shake my faith. I was trusting God

for something huge and it didn’t happen! I was broken and

wondered why it never came to pass. But I realized

something. Just because something doesn’t happen in our lives

doesn’t mean it is too much for God, it just means it wasn’t

part of His plan for our lives. It took time processing that.

Anyway, lets move on. Last week God showed me something

that gave me so much hope! I was thinking about the big

things I am trusting God for but there was one thing in

particular I was doubting. As I was doubting if this thing

would happen I had a thought and wrote it down in my

journal:

We all know God does the impossible but there is

something you need to get into your spirit,

God can do YOUR impossible.

Whatever I am believing for that I think is impossible,

God can do. He is doing my impossible!

Look at Martha. She believed Jesus was the resurrection

and the life. She believed Jesus could do the impossible!

That was not the issue. But Jesus wanted her to know He

could accomplish her impossible! There is a big difference

between believing God can do the impossible and believing

He can do YOUR impossible!

Nothing in your life is too big for God to handle. When

you read of all those great things Jesus did in the bible

know He can do those same things in YOUR life. He cares

about you……

I was so encouraged when I got that revelation. I thought

to myself about the things I was trusting God for. I could

pray to God about that thing. He actually wanted me to

come to Him with “my impossible” things!

God has great things in store for you and no matter how

impossible they seem please understand He is the God of

the impossible, the God of YOUR impossible! Don’t doubt

Him. If something doesn’t happen after you have brought

that thing to Him then know that it wasn’t in His plan!

There is no such thing as, too big for God!

He wants to show Himself strong on your behalf!

Trust Him.

Amen!

What Does It Mean To Follow Jesus??

But Jesus said to him, Follow Me, and leave the dead [in sin] to bury their own dead.
And after He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.
And suddenly, behold, there arose a violent storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered up by the waves; but He was sleeping.
Matthew 8:22-24

As I was reading this passage of scripture something caught my attention. The word says, after Jesus got into the boat, His disciples got into the boat and suddenly there arose a violent storm! Not just a storm but a violent storm. Why did Jesus go on to the boat then? In fact why did He allow the disciples to follow Him onto the boat?? I am sure He knew a storm would come. They could of stayed on  land until the storm passed but instead He went on to the boat! The disciples had no idea what they were getting themselves into.
It is not easy following Jesus. A lot of people think it is but it’s not! Following Jesus doesn’t guarantee a pain free life. In fact it might mean more challenges and more trouble but why???

The answer is found further down in the scripture I shared. The disciples were freaking out. They thought they were in mortal danger!!! (Matthew 8:25)
And that is the thing about this walk we have chosen. The danger is real. The trials are real. The troubles we face can take us out! As the disciples thought they would die so it is with us. But Jesus had a plan. He wasn’t taking them into the storm for the fun of it. He wanted to teach them something. He wanted them to learn something.

And He said to them, Why are you timid and afraid, O you of little faith? Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great and wonderful calm (a perfect peaceableness). Matthew 8:26

Jesus equated their fear and timidity for a lack of faith!!! Very interesting….They were not over reacting when they were asking Jesus to save them. The storm was real, the boat was sinking so one would think their reaction was totally normal but no, Jesus equated it to lack of faith!!!!
In the storm we need to trust God. He is the ONLY One who can get us out of it. The only One!!
Your foreboding and anxious thoughts and your fear are showing Him how much you DON’T trust Him!!
Fear is a natural response to danger but how we respond when fear comes is important.

I want you to know, Jesus is with you in the storm. He wants your faith. Will you stop looking at the magnitude of the storm and turn to Him in faith? He will save you. He wants to strengthen your faith in Him. He is good. He does not allow storms into our lives for the fun of it. He has a plan.

What Is The Answer To Confusion and Shame???

I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him [of necessity and on the authority of His word], and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.
Psalms 34:4,5

This is an amazing passage of scripture. An amazing passage with an amazing promise. I was in a tough place before I read this scripture. I was confused and asking God for wisdom about a situation. I was fretting and freaking out!! I was really at a loss at what to do. I really needed His direction and then I read this scripture. The first part of the verse says God hears us and delivers us from all our fears! But that wasn’t what hit home to me. The last part hit home.

They looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.

As I look to God my face will be radiant!!! And that makes all the sense in the world. God is the only One that can make my face shine because He is the answer to everything in my life! It’s only when we turn to Him that we get what we need. Where do you turn to when you are confused? Where do you turn to when your world turns upside down? Turn to God!!
The verse carries on and says, their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.
As you turn to God, your confusion will be dealt with. You can’t be confused when you turn to God. He brings clarity in whatever you are going through. You won’t be put to shame when you look to God. He wants you to turn to Him. He wants US to turn to Him!!!
This is the verse that I am holding on to and meditating on. It brings me strength and encouragement and I hope it brings you the same. I am still seeking direction and clarity but I am much better off than when I first began because I am standing on that verse with everything within me. Instead of freaking out I am at peace. I know  God is in control and I know He is working behind the scenes and that is the difference I think. As we turn to God our faces shine because we know that God is in control. We may not have the answer yet but we are at peace knowing God is in control. And as we look to Him and trust Him He then brings clarity and direction in the difficult situations we face.  I know problems aren’t solved in a night but God is good and as I have turned to Him He is really helping me.
When you don’t know what to do turn to God.
When you are confused about a situation in your life turn to Him.
Your face will be radiant as you do and you will not be put to shame or be confused. That is God’s promise to you!!

I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him [of necessity and on the authority of His word], and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.
