He gave us His word and Something else……

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

¹³ In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it—to the praise of His glory.  Ephesians 1:14

God has promised us so much. The things He has planned for us

are beyond our comprehension.

Is God true to His word, yes!

Does God keep His promises, yes!

I think we can all agree, that God’s word is solid.

If He says,

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

We can be assured He means it….

If He says,

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:19

We know it’s a done deal right? Why, because He said it…!!!!

(a big DUH…..)

Let me get to my point.

We know God’s word is true and He knows

it too but according to Ephesians 1: 14, He has gone an extra step:

He has given us His Holy Spirit as a guarantee we will get

everything He has promised us!!

Let that soak in for a bit…….

 Let me read the word again:

Are you spirit filled? Does the Holy Spirit live in you?

You now know what that means!!!

God wanted to give you a guarantee that He would do

EVERYTHING He promised you so He gave you the

Holy Spirit. He really didn’t have to because

we know His word is ALWAYS true but He did it anyway!!

How He loves us!!!

But the Holy Spirit is not a dormant “force”

that sits idly in you, No!

He is directing you, speaking to you, teaching you and

a whole lot more.

²⁶ But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.  John 14:26

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Acts 1:8

“If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:15-18

I will stop there….

When I considered this I was encouraged. There have been really

crazy times, times when I lose sight of what God

is doing in my life, there are times when I struggle with the truth

that God has a plan for me but to know that the Holy Spirit

is THE guarantee I will receive ALL of God’s amazing promises

is too wonderful to comprehend……….Selah!

 

I have taken the presence

of the Holy Spirit in my life so lightly. Please forgive me Lord!

The Holy Spirit loves me but I overlook Him a lot…..!

He is in my life because He was sent by God.

He is in my life because God

has an amazing plan and He wants to guarantee that I will

walk in it!!!

 

Take heart friends….You may be going through hell but the

Holy Spirit is in you making sure God’s word comes to

pass in your life………

 

He is making sure God’s amazing promises materialize

in your life.

If you ever doubted God’s love for you just remember the

Holy Spirit who lives in you…..

He is your guarantee, that God’s word is true….

Amazing right…..All praise and glory to Him!!!

The day of power!

Happy Easter to you all. I hope you are having a great weekend celebrating the

death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To be honest, I have not been seeking the Lord like I should. I should

be reading my bible more and praying more this weekend but I have

been slacking big time. It’s a fight to seek Him. But I make a decision  to seek Him,

to make this weekend count.

Tomorrow is Resurrection Sunday!

 

Easter is our day if you didn’t know. It’s a strong day for us. It’s not like every

other day of the year, it’s a day of significance for us and when I say “day” I am

talking about Easter as a whole. A strong day is a day you can declare things, make

decisions and so on. You can do that on normal days but there is a different

kind of power when you do those kind of things on strong days. Your birthday

for instance is a strong day, a great day to reflect and make changes right?

 

 

I was reflecting on a few things today.

I was thinking about the importance of Easter.

Jesus Christ died for us because He wanted

to have a relationship with us, He died so we could be set free from the enemy’s

strong grip. He died so He could bring us home. We were lost but because of what

He did we were found.

As I reflected on all these things I saw the ugly things in my life. I saw how I fail

Him on a daily basis and so on. But today is the day I can come to God and cry out

to Him.

 

I made a decision today. It stops here, with me! I don’t want my sins and the sins of my

parents and so on to carry over to the coming generations. I don’t want my kids to

struggle with what I struggle with. I don’t want them to fear what I fear. Who knows

what sins have been passed down generationally but the Lord knows?

On Easter, the day of power I ask the Lord to help me. It’s only by His grace I have

a chance. I shared this with you to show you what a strong day is and how important it is

and what you can be doing on it.

 

Use this Easter weekend to reflect and make some changes. This is our day, our strong day.

The enemy would like us to think it’s an ordinary day but it’s not. Far from it. It’s our day of power that

the Lord has appointed!! Make declarations, draw a line in the sand, stand, and whatever

else you think you should do because today is the day of power!

 

Jesus Christ died and rose again. He rendered the enemy’s power useless.

He defeated the enemy on this day of power.

All the enemy’s plans blew up in his face.

Make this Easter count. Allow Him to show you how because this is,

our day of power!

The real meaning of Easter.

It’s Easter and i am meditating on what God did for me. He sent His Son to die for me. I was living with an eternal death sentence but He saved me. He chose me and laid His life down so i could be free. This is what Easter is about.

At this time i can hear him shout out, “IT IS FINISHED”! Easter is a time of completion. It marked the time when Jesus Christ completed His mission.
He endured much so I could be free.
I was the one who was meant to die for my sins.
I was the one who did the wrong but instead Jesus Christ took my place! He took my place knowing full well what would happen. He knew He would be crucified. He knew He would be beaten and mocked. He knew He would be detested by people. He knew He would be whipped and beaten beyond recognition and yet He still died for you and me. He still took our place.
It is like an innocent man taking the place of someone on deathrow! That is unheard of! So we need to thank Jesus for what He has done.

But in this time a lot of people think Easter is about the Easter bunny and easter eggs and hot cross buns. But that is not it. Those things complement the meaning of Easter but they are not reason for Easter. The real reason behind Easter is Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God and He is calling you. He wants to have a relationship with you. All you need to do is accept Him into your life. Ask Him to come and live in your heart. It’s not too late for you. He loves you.

It’s ok to have easter eggs and it’s ok to eat hot cross buns but don’t miss the real meaning of Easter.
Easter is an amazing time. My desire is that you would come to know Him. And not just know about Him but to accept Him into your life. He is waiting for you to invite Him into your life.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me. Revelation 3:20

That is what Jesus Christ is saying to you.
