He cares about purpose.

purpose

“Those who had seen it told them how the man who had been demon-possessed had been healed.

Then all the people of the country of the Gerasenes and the surrounding district asked Him to leave them, because they were overwhelmed with fear. So Jesus got into the boat and returned [to the west side of the Sea of Galilee].

But the man from whom the demons had gone out kept begging Him, pleading to go with Him; but Jesus sent him away, saying,

“Return home and tell [about] all the great things God has done for you.” So the man went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

Luke 8:36-39

The man who had been delivered begged Jesus to take him

but Jesus said no! What an asset he could of been

if he had gone with Jesus. What a testimony he had but Jesus

said no! The man was just beginning to get to know the Savior

and he would know so much more if he had gone with him

but Jesus said no!

It might be hard to understand but this is what the man

had been born for. He was to declare the great things the Lord

had done in his life and he did. Jesus cared about the man’s

destiny and wanted him to accomplish it!

“But the man from whom the demons had gone out kept begging Him, pleading to go with Him; but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return home and tell [about] all the great things God has done for you.” So the man went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.”

Luke 8:38, 39

Jesus wanted the man to accomplish his purpose. He wasn’t

being cruel. He knew what would happen if the man obeyed

and stayed. A lot of people would have their lives changed forever!

A lot of people would get to know Jesus through the

man’s testimony! That was his purpose. That’s why he had to stay!

Let’s bring it home.

Jesus has a purpose for you and He wants you to

accomplish it.

A lot of people will be saved when you do what He has created you

to do and a lot of people will get to know Him because of the great

things He has done in your life.

As I end I want to leave you with a thought,

are you walking in what God has purposed you to do? People

lives are going to be changed as you do…….

Bless you

It really starts with me…!

It feels like I haven’t written for ever but it’s been just over a

week. I attended a children’s ministry training and a few days

later I went for a Children’s ministry camp. It’s been kids,

kids, and more kids and I love it. Camp was amazing. I know the

kids had fun but I enjoyed it just as much as they did.

A scripture has been on my heart ever since I got back.

“Yet you ask, Why does He reject it? Because the Lord was witness

[to the covenant made at your marriage] between you and the

wife

of your youth, against whom you were faithless. Yet she is your

companion and the wife of your covenant [made by your marriage

vows].

And did not God make [you and your wife] one [flesh]? Did not

One make you and preserve your spirit alive? And why [did God

make you two] one? Because He sought a godly  offspring [from

your union]. Therefore take heed to yourselves, and let no one

deal treacherously and be faithless to his wife of his youth.

Malachi 2:14, 15

I love this passage of scripture. In this passage we see how God

loves marriage. He created it. But there is something else. From

this passage we learn one of the reasons God created marriage.

“And why [did God make you two] one?

Because He sought a godly offspring [from your union]. “

Malachi 2:15

One of the reasons God brings two people together in marriage

is because He is seeking a godly offspring from their union!

Let me take it a step further, He already knows your

child and the plan He has for him or her! When God joins

two people together He is not just thinking about the two

people but He is thinking far ahead. He is thinking about thier

children and their children after them and so on! God has a plan

for your children. He loves them and He is thinking about them.

So, young man, don’t rush when it comes to choosing the woman

God has for you. There is so much more than meets the eye. He

wants to bless you and He wants to bless your children and thier

children after them. Young women, wait on God’s timing!

He is faithful.

“Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord [the only Lord].

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and]

heart and with your entire being and with all your might.

And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be

[first] in your [own] minds and hearts; [then]

You shall whet and sharpen them so as to make them penetrate,

and teach and impress them diligently upon the [minds and]

hearts of your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your

house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and

when you rise up.

Deuteronomy 6:4-7

This verse ministered to me deeply. It starts with me, it starts with

you. God wants to work on you first so you will be able to teach your

kids. He wants His words to be lodged deep inside you first.

His words must first do thier work in you before they can impact

the next generation.

Young man, young woman, is the word first in your life?

Do you have a relationship with the Lord?

If yes, is it deep, is it growing?

Do you love the Lord?

Is He the most important thing in your life?

Like I said in the beginning, there is so much more to

marriage than meets the eye. Young man, God expects you

to lead your family but how will you lead if you have not

allowed the Lord to lead you?

The responsibility of teaching children the word of God lies

on the man. It’s your responsibility young man. It’s an

awesome responsibility and one not to be taken lightly.

Are you living your life in a way that will benefit your future

generation?

God sees generations when He looks at us. Let’s remember our

actions have a direct impact on the future generation!

Living a life of passion.

I want to be someone who is driven by passion. I don’t want to waste away in the dark because I have no convictions and no drive…….I want to be so passionate that it will be what wakes me up in the morning. So passionate that I will not want to be idle! So passionate that the thing I am passionate about consumes my entire being. So passionate that every fiber of my being is infected! So passionate that people get uncomfortable around me….

Jesus was a passionate person. He was driven by passion.
He was passionate about God. So passionate that he obeyed Him even to death! He didn’t have to die but He did. Yes He loved us but He loved God,  loved Him enough to die!!!
He was passionate about the church, so passionate that He sat down and made a cord of whips and drove people out of the temple…..!
He was passionate about people. He was so passionate that it didn’t matter who they were or what time they would come to Him. He always made time for people. His heart broke for people, He wept for people, He gave His life to save people!
I hope you are starting to see how passionate He was. He wants us to have that same passion! A passion that cannot be extinguished. A passion that impacts the world! Jesus impacted the world forever because He was passionate. The Pharisees tried to stop Him but their efforts were futile! A passionate person cannot be stopped. We live in a world that needs the light of Christ. But that light will shine through passionate people. People who are passionate for God! People who are willing for God to use them. People who are passionate about the things God is passionate about! Are you that person?

Is Your Pool Muddied??

I was having my quiet time this time when I came across Proverbs 25:26 which says:

A good person who gives in to a bad person is a muddied spring, a polluted well.

My Pastor spoke about having a muddied pool a long time ago so when I read this scripture the word he spoke came to mind. It is a very important message for us as Christians if we are to make an impact on this earth…

We all have a spring which is supposed to be clean and pure. When our spring is clean and pure we are able to help other people. People can come to us and leave refreshed having drank from our spring!!! That is how its supposed to be.
So picture yourself being the spring in the picture below! I think people would like to come to that spring. People would get refreshed by being there. It’s serene and calm and peaceful! Are you that kind of person?

But what happens when your spring gets polluted? Can people still drink from your spring?? No….!
Proverbs 25:26 gives us a bit of insight into how we can pollute our fresh life giving springs.
Being corrupt is one way you can corrupt your spring. God expects us to fair and He expects us to carry out justice. Getting involved in illegal stuff will pollute your spring.
Not sticking to your word is another way of polluting your spring. Keep your word to people and to yourself.
Being sexually active before marriage will definitely mess your spring up.

Now imagine being the spring below. It is dirty and polluted and you are not going to refresh anyone! You are useful for nothing and you are actually doing more harm than good. I don’t see people wanting to hang around that kind of spring.

I mentioned a few things but the fact is, there are a whole bunch of things that will pollute our spring. It is impossible to not sin but what are you doing about the sin in your life? Are you dealing with it and allowing God to come and help? The importance of dealing with all this sin is to have a clean spring so you can help other people. People can not be refreshed by you if your spring is polluted…!

I am not saying we must be perfect but I am saying we need to do our best to have a clean spring.

Is your spring muddied and polluted and if it is what are you going to do about it? We truly need God’s help in this area, desperately!!!!!

A good person who gives in to a bad person is a muddied spring, a polluted well. Proverbs 25:26

Will Your Words Last Into Eternity?

Do you know why it is important to speak the truth and not lie? Some people do it because it is the “right” thing to do!
But that is not enough. We need something more concrete and that is the same for all our other beliefs. You can’t just believe in something because “it’s the right thing to do”!  Why do you believe what you believe?

A few months ago God focused His magnifying glass on truth and lies in my life. He shown me how much I lied! At first I couldn’t believe it but as I looked at my life through His magnifying glass I seen how bad it was. The worst thing about it, was how experienced I was!! I would just lie without even thinking about it and then there were times when I would think about how I would lie!!! It was crazy. But in God’s amazing grace, He helped me.
In one of my previous posts I spoke about the word of God. I shared Hebrews 4:12 which says the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power and that is what we should see the word as. It is not just some random book!! If you have not read that post just click here.
His word IS alive and full of power because as I was reading His word in that crazy season He spoke to me through a verse. The verse of scripture that He used was Proverbs 12:19 and it says,

Truthful lips shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is [credited] but for a moment.

That scripture hit me like a ton of bricks and it still does today. Truthful lips will be established forever! It is not just speaking about your time on earth. Your truthful words will make an impact lasting into eternity!!!!
Can you imagine that? When you are in heaven your truthful words will be still making an impact?!!
Let me say it another way. You will be remembered on earth for centuries to come because of your truthful words and in heaven your words will still be making an impact because you spoke the truth here on earth!!!
“Truthful lips shall be established forever”,

But there is a flip side to the verse. It says, “but a lying tongue is [credited] but for a moment”.

That sucks right? A lying tongue will get you no where. You may prosper for a bit but it will come to an end. You will never win when you lie.

When I got that revelation I asked God to help me. I knew I needed His power to change. I still struggle with lying but there has been a change. I am still working at it. I want my words to count in eternity. I want to be established forever and not just for a season. I don’t want to play with my words because they really do have power!!
Let us desire to speak the truth even if it hurts. As we do that we are being established.
Another reason we must speak the truth is because God hates lying lips. Proverbs 12:22 says:

Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful to the Lord, but they who deal faithfully are His delight.

“Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful”. Those are very strong words but as sons and daughters of God we need to have the same view of lying lips. We should come to a place where we are disgusted by it and we totally hate it. We should be disgusted at lying and hate lying not just in other people but in ourselves to!!!

As I end I would like to ask you a question. Have your words got Ever-lasting power? Are you establishing things forever or are things breaking down in your life because you are not speaking the truth?
Let us ask for God’s help in this matter…..
Amen.
