He will not embarrass you……

“Don’t embarrass me by not showing up;

I’ve given you plenty of notice.

Embarrass the wicked, stand them up”

Psalm 31: 14-18

That’s my prayer at the moment.

There are decisions I have made, and declarations I have uttered boldly.

It would be quite embarrassing if God didn’t come through for me!

But, is it possible for God to embarrasses His children??

For Him to embarrass us would mean He isn’t able to

show up for us.

As I meditated on this scripture today the more and more I realized

how unlikely it would be for me to be embarrassed by Him.

Let’s look at some scriptures to illustrate my point,

“Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might

humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a straight and

right way for us, our little ones, and all our possessions.

For I was ashamed to request of the king a band of soldiers and horesemen

to protect us against the enemy along the way, because we had told the king,

The hand of the our God is upon all them for good who seek Him, but His

power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.”

Ezra 8:21, 22

Ezra declared the goodness and greatness of God to the king and because

of that Ezra didn’t get soldiers and horsemen to protect the families on

their journey.

“So we fasted and besought our God for this, and He heard our entreaty. “

Ezra 8: 23

“We left the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month to go to

Jerusalem;

and the hand of our God was upon us, and He delivered us from the

enemy and those who lay in wait by the way.”

Ezra 8:31

God showed up for His people and because He did His people were

not embarrassed.

What are you trusting God for?

What have you been praying to Him about?

Remember, He will not embarrass you by not showing up for you.

He is faithful and true and He will show up for you.

As we wait on the Lord, lets remember that He will always show up for

us. It may not be in the time frame you are expecting and it may not be

in the way you are expecting but He will always show up.

Don’t abandon the prayer.

Don’t think He has abandoned you.

He will show up!

Bless you friends!

For His glory…..

image

“Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind

from birth.

And His disciples asked Him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned,

this man or his parents, that he was born blind?

Jesus answered, Neither this man nor his parents sinned,

but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

John 9:1-3

Isn’t it interesting how the disciples immedaitely pointed

to sin as the reason for the man being in the situation he was

in. Even Job had the same problem. His friends thought sin

was behind all the misfortune that befell him but that was

not the truth. It wasn’t true for Job, for the blind man and

it’s not true for you!

Jesus answered, neither this man nor his parents sinned, but

that the works of God should be revealed in Him.

John 9:3

I had a thought, maybe you haven’t received your

breakthrough because God wants to reveal His glory

and greatness through your situation!

Please get me here, I am not saying we must cross out

ourselves out as the problem. We could be the problem

to a lot of the problems we are facing. But what I am trying

to say is that there are things that are happening or

not happening because God wants to reveal His goodness

and glory in HIS time!

When the blind man received his sight that was a testimony

of how great God is but it happened at the right time.

When Job got his life back God got the glory even though

it didn’t make sense in the beginning. He didn’t

understand why the things that were happening were

happening. But God knew!

The problem comes when we look at how other people

are living and we begin to compare our lives to theirs.

Your life is in God’s hands and He is directing it. He has

a plan for you and it will come to pass.

Always remember, He wants to reveal His goodness and

greatness through you.

Hannah was in the same situation. She was barren but

wanted children. She could have wondered why that was

so. Did she think God favored Peninnah over her? Maybe.

Whatever the case, she was not in a good place. But God had

a plan. He would reveal His wonderful acts through Hannah!

Peninnah could bear children but Hannah bore Samuel!

It was worth the wait…..

I have to constantly remind myself that God has a plan

for me. He has not forgotten about me. Even if it seems

like it. My friends have moved on with thier lives. They

have families of their own, and so on and here I still am

waiting on God. But I am not upset. He has a plan.

His goodness and greatness will be manifested through

me I believe. I may not understand why some things

are the way they are but I trust God does…..and that’s

all that matters!

Don’t be discouraged friends. He will come through for you.

He will be magnified though your life. People won’t help

but praise God because of the things that are happening

in your life. He is so good!

How the wars in your life are won!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY.

We all have wars to fight. We cannot run away from battles. They are a part of life but how are we to deal with them?

How do we become victorious? We find the answer in the book of Samuel.

David strengthened himself with trust in his God. He ordered Abiathar the priest, son of Ahimelech, Bring me

the Ephod so I can consult God. Abiathar brought it to David.

Then David prayed to God, Shall I go after these raiders? Can I catch them?

The answer came, go after them! Yes, you’ll catch them! Yes, you’ll make the rescue!

1 Samuel 30: 6-8

When the Philistines got word that David had been made king over all Israel, they came on the hunt for him.

David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. When the Philistines arrived, they deployed their forces in Rephaim Valley.

Then David prayed to God: “Shall I go up and fight the Philistines? Will you help me beat them?

Go up, “God replied. Count on me. I’ll help you beat them.”

2 Samuel 5:17-20

Later there was a repeat performance. The Philistines came up again and deployed their troops in the Rephaim

Valley. David again prayed to God.

This time God said, don’t attack them head-on. Instead, circle around behind them and ambush them from the grove

of sacred trees. When you hear the sound of shuffling in the trees, get ready to move out. It’s a signal that God is going

ahead of you to smash the Philistine camp.

2 Samuel 5:22– 24

Time and time again we see this pattern throughout scripture. Whoever it was, they always sought The Lord first.

As we face the battles that come our way we need to realize we can come to God. He is our Defender and He will fight for us.

The mistake we make is we think we can do it on our own. But it’s not true!!!! We are not strong enough, and smart enough. We need

Gods help. He is the One who will deliver us. I have tried at times fight on my own only to fail. David as great as he was,

and as great as an army he commanded always sought The Lord first. He didn’t rely on his own strength and on the strength of his mighty men.

Who are you relying on when you go to war?

Is it the weapons you possess or the connections you have or the family you come from or the riches you possess?

The experience you have, the intellect you possess????

That means nothing if you don’t seek The Lord. You will fail if you go out alone!!!

Rely on The Lord when you go to war! Rely on God when you face the giants in your life!

The way to greatness……

How did THEY do it? The great men and women who went before us? How did they achieve greatness? One thing is for sure. None of those men and women became great in a day. It took time. Look at Israel, what a great example. Jacob was one man with a promise. He would become a mighty nation! Psalm 105: 11, 12 says,

Saying, unto you will I give the land of Canaan as your measured portion, possession, and inheritance.

When they were but a few men in number, in fact, very few and were temporary residents and strangers in it.

Don’t despise the day of small beginnings. We see from this short passage that God started with a few people. He started off small. It is doing the small things that great things are born. Without the small things you cannot be great. So you may have started writing but no one knows your name, please know there will  come a day when people will know your name, a day where your books will impact millions. Keep on writing. You may have started a company but it hasn’t picked up like you would want it too but know the day is coming when you will be so busy you will not know what to do with the clients that come to your place.

All great things start as small things. It is just the way it is. Don’t despise the “small” that you are doing now. It is to an end. God has a much bigger plan in store for you. It takes time for “small” to turn into great. You need to keep at it. keep pushing, keep trusting, keep declaring, keep on working. God knows what He is doing.                                                        I need to constantly remind myself of this truth. God is doing something and I must not despise the day of small beginnings. He is making me stronger, preparing me for the great and so it is with you. King David looked after his fathers sheep. But God was preparing him out there. He fought the lion and the bear out there. God was preparing him for the giant and more. He was preparing him to be a king as he was doing the “small”. Did he know what God was up to, I don’t know! People saw but didn’t understand. His own family didn’t see it. People don’t usually tend to see what God is doing but keep on with what He has shown you.

What you need to do, is see beyond the “small” as you do the “small”. Do you understand?? When you do the “small” see the end result. See the “small” in it’s completed state. If you are at school aspiring to be a doctor keep the picture of the doctor up. When things get hard at school, having the main picture in front of you will help you. It takes faith to see ahead. You can only see the big picture by faith! The “small”  you are doing now is the key. Don’t despise it.  The “small” is setting your foundation down and making it stronger. That is where greatness starts…..

What Is The Definition Of Greatness?

What do you think the definition of greatness is? What are you doing that is great? Are you doing something that is making a difference in people’s lives?
To help me answer this question I am going to talk about two men who literally changed the world. They were both regarded as great men. They were both considered successful. But as you will see, their lived very different lives. My goal in this post is to help you decide what your definition of greatness is. By the end of this post I hope you will know how to define what true greatness really is.

The first man I am going to look at is Steve Jobs. I was sad when he died. I personally think he has changed the world for generations to come. He is a history maker. He has brought something that has changed peoples lives forever. He was considered a success. He was considered to be a great man.
But as I was thinking about him I could not shake off another thought. What if he never gave his life to Jesus Christ? I read his autobiography and it looks like he did not believe in Jesus. He was not a christian. So was he really great? Could we say he was a success? Is it not sad that even though he changed the world he may be in hell???
Is he an example of a great man?

The second man I want to talk about is Martin Luther King Jr. He was also considered a great man. He didn’t have much. He wasn’t as rich as Steve Jobs but he was considered a success. His work will last for generations and the world will never be the same because of him. He is truly a history maker.

So what is your definition of greatness? Who would you want to be if you could be either Steve Jobs or Martin Luther King Jr?

Personally I would chose Martin Luther King Jr. He had a heart for people. He was more than a humanitarian or a philanthropist. He was willing to die for the cause.
This is where I think the fundamental difference between the two men are. One man was concerned about advancing himself. Yes, his inventions would make life easier for people but it was for some people.
Martin Luther King Jr had a dream that involved people. And his vision was not about him. It was not about advancing and benefiting himself. Instead he had people in mind and that is what pushed him forward in the midst of trials and hardships.

What is your definition of greatness? Before you can accomplish greatness you need to have a clear idea of what it is. Is your vision focused around advancing you and making you great, or is it focused on people?
God’s purpose for your life is for other people. His purpose for you is to impact people. It is always about people. So with that, what is your definition of greatness?
