Remember God!

You may be going through some intense times at the moment but I want to encourage you to remember God.

Always remember God through everything you are going through.

When the enemy has knocked you to the ground, remember God and call to Him. He will pick you up always.

I think of Job in his most intense time. He had lost everything and his closest friends abandoned him but in that intense fire

he remembered God.

“But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last.”
  Job 19:25 NLT

“But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives”

The enemy wants you to forget God.

He doesn’t want you remembering God. He wants you in fear, anxious, stressed and so many other negative emotions.

But you can’t let him win. He is a defeated foe.

“I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”

Psalm 16:8 ESV

We need to always set the Lord before us. He is the One who is fighting for us. He is our strength.

As I close I want to share one more scripture,

“I love you, O LORD my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my

rock in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.”

Psalm 18:1-3 ESV

Remember God!

Bless you friends

There Is A Reason To Wait.

“And the king said, “All this misery is from the LORD! Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?”

2 Kings 6:33 NLT

Waiting can be so hard. It really isn’t for the faint of heart.

But we wait even though it’s hard because the LORD is faithful and good.

He doesn’t make us wait for nothing!

He doesn’t make YOU wait for nothing!

He will never waste your wait.

The Israelite king was frustrated and was in despair. His people were under siege and the food ran out.

People were desperate and he blamed Elisha. So he sent a messenger to take off Elisha’s head but he also sent him with a message,

“Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?”

At times it feels like that. It’s hard to see the benefit of waiting when nothing seems to be happening or when things are actually getting worse.

But I want to encourage you to continue holding on and waiting on the LORD. He knows exactly where you are. He will breakthrough for you very soon. He will answer your prayers shortly.

You just need not to give up. I read a quote that I love that I want to share with you,

Good things come to those who Believe,

Better things come to those who are patient

and the best things come to those who Don’t Give Up.

unknown

I love that.

DON’T GIVE UP friends.

God will never fail you. He cares about you and knows what you are going through.

And He loves you so much.

“I wait quietly before God,

for my victory comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation.”

Psalm 62:1, 2 ESV

Bless you friends

The life He wants us to have……

THOUGHT OF THE DAY.

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy,”

John 10:10

This is a very known passage of scripture, a scripture that gives us insight into who the enemy is and

what drives him. The plan is very clear and we know what he is about.

But how many of us know the last part of that scripture which talks about another plan, Yeshua’s plan

for us. Let’s take a look at it,

“I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)”

I love this! He wants us to enjoy life and have it to the full. Despite what our circumstances say, the Lord

wants us to have abundance, He wants us to enjoy life!

Are you experiencing these things?

If I am honest with myself I don’t look for those things enough. I don’t demand them enough!

That doesn’t mean a life without trials and challenges.

Those things will come but there will also be victory, there will be peace, there will be

freedom, there will be reconciliation, there will be forgiveness a whole host of other things.

His plan for us is good and only good.

And the thing we need to realize about this is that the Lord’s plan is stronger than the enemy’s plan.

Yes his plan is all bad but he doesn’t have the final say. The Lord has the final say and He says, He has

come so we may have life and enjoy life and have it in abundance!!

The enemy would like us to believe his plan is our reality but he is a liar. The stuff he stole will be restored,

and his weapons will not accomplish what they were designed for. They are powerless against us because

the Lord is our Shield and Protector.

Yeshua has the final say over what our lives will be, not the enemy.

Have a great weekend friends…..

What is God really up to in the midst of the pain I face???

I finally finished reading, Live, Love, Lead written by Brian

Houston. What a journey it’s been. I loved every chapter

of it. I would like to share something he said in the last chapter

that spoke to me deeply. It has been a source of peace for me

in this week:

“We know that all things work together for good to those who

love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Romans 8:28

“Simply put, life has moments that we could not describe as

good, some simple inconveniences and other serious trials.

But in case there is any doubt, let me drive the point home

for you.

In Romans, the Bible is talking about ALL THINGS.

All things means inconvenient things, difficult things, upsetting

things, hurtful things, confusing things, painful things,

shameful things, sorrowful things, and ucertain things.

God wastes nothing, and somehow, he weaves everything

together for his glorious future, as only he can. All things

includes connections and disconnections, things coming

together and things falling apart, your best day and your

worst day, opportunities gained and opportunities lost,

good seasons and tough seasons, problems and solutions,

conflicts and resolutions, trials and triumphs, relationships

and acquaintances, sickness and health, poverty and wealth.”

What a profound thought. I have always read that scripture

but the way it was explained really blew me away. God works

ALL THINGS for our good. No matter how bad, no matter

how confusing, no matter how frustrating, all things work

together for good. God knows exactly what He is doing.

I am comforted that in the hard times, God is working things

out for good.

It’s amazing to think that the bad that has happened is not the

end of my story. There is a better end.

You may be going through hell but God is working things out

for your good. The enemy may think he is working things out

for the worst but he is seriously misinformed. No matter what

he throws at you, God is working it out for your good! He is

working all things together for your good. There is a man in

the bible who experienced this truth first hand. His name was

Mephiboseth.

Jonathan, saul’s son, had a son whose feet were crippled.

He was five years old when the news [of the deaths] of

Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. And the boy’s nurse

picked him up and fled; but it happened that while she was

hurrying that while she was hurrying to flee, he fell and became

lame. His name was Mephiboseth.

2 Samuel 4:4

Of no fault of his own, Mephiboseth was crippled. That must of

been hard to deal with. He didn’t ask to be crippled. It just

happened. What were his thoughts like?

Where there days he wanted to give up?

Did he hate his life?

Had he forgiven his nurse who dropped him? Things would

of been very different if she had been more careful.

To top that all off, his father had been killed in battle. How

much of his father did he remember?

Did he see King David as the enemy?

Did he think things would ever turn around for the better?

He may of thought things would never change but the fact is,

God turned his situation around for good. In the baddest of bad,

God turned things around for good in his life.

“And the king said, “is there no longer anyone left of the house

(family) of Saul to whom I may show the goodness and

graciousness of God?”

Ziba replied to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan,

[one] whose feet are crippled.”

2 Samuel 9:3

David gave him everything that king Saul

owned. He also told him he would eat at his table for the

rest of his days. (2 Samuel 9:11-13)

Things turned around for good in a way Mephiboseth never

imagined! No man could ever orchestrate how things would

turn out for him.

But God who is true to His word turned things out for

Mephiboseth in such an amzing way.

I love that.

I love that through the pain, the confusing times, the intense

times, the good times, God is working all those things out for

my good.

And that is true for you. He is working all things together

for your good! The enemy will not win. Things will not stay as

they are. God is working all things for good. Will you trust

he is working all things together for your good? You may not

see it, and it may not seem like it but things are working

together for your good! That is the God we serve and He is

worthy to be praised! Amen

Wait for hope to appear……

THOUGHT OF THE DAY.

God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,

to the woman who diligently seeks.

It’s a good thing to quietly hope,

quietly hope for help from God.

It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out

through the hard times.

When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself.

Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions:

Wait for hope to appear. Don’t run from trouble. Take

it full-face. The “worst” is never the worst.

Why? Because the Master won’t ever walk out and fail

to return. If He works severely, He also works tenderly.

His stockpiles of loyal love are immense.

He takes no pleasure in making life hard, in throwing

roadblocks in the way:

Lamentations 3:25, 36

What an amazing passage of scripture. There is so much to take

from it. What stood out for me was this verse that said,

wait for hope to appear

A lot of us have abandoned hope because what we were

trusting for didn’t come to pass.

We thought God abandoned us. But the word is very clear,

‘wait for hope to appear’…..

When all hope is gone, wait for hope to appear.

When life is hard, wait for hope to appear.

When trouble comes, wait for hope to appear.

Wait for hope to appear!

No matter how bad things seem, wait for hope to

appear.

The word is very clear:

“It’s a good thing to quietly hope,

quietly hope for help from God.”

We can hope because the Lord will never walk out on us,

He will never fail to return to us, the word tells us.

Hope can return. I may have given up and lost hope but

it can return! I will wait for hope to appear. God will not

let me down.

Don’t abandon hope, instead wait for it to appear!

Amen

I have forgotten God…..!

Young women don’t forget their jewelry, do they?

Brides don’t show up without their veils, do they?

But my people forget me.

Day after day after day they never give me a thought. Jeremiah 2:32

I read this scripture today and I was so convicted. In this chapter God was speaking

to Israel and it is easy to think those words only applied to them but that is not true.

I too have forgotten God!! How so you may be asking???

I forget God every time I spend countless hours on Facebook instead of spending time with Him,

I forget God when I choose to watch a movie instead of spending time with Him,

I forget God when I don’t deliberately take the time to worship Him during the week,

I forget Him when I choose to do everything else but spend time with Him!!!

Facebook, talking to friends and being on a phone are not bad in themselves. They become bad when they become the MAIN things and GOD and His word come second!! God wants to be first and EXPECTS to be first in my life and anything else that takes His place is an idol……!!!

Please forgive me for forgetting You Lord. You are THE most important thing in my life, not the second most important thing but the MOST  important thing! Help me to NEVER forget You all of my days……..Amen

Words & Hands…..

I love the book of Proverbs. It has some really practical but powerful advise. I would like to share a bit of what I got from the chapter I was reading.
Proverbs 12:14 says:

From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of a man’s hands shall come back to him [as a harvest].

Here we have two principles that if applied will get you far in your life. The first part of the verse speaks about words. By YOUR words you will be satisfied with good! How are you speaking? Could you say you are been satisfied with good things? If not check what is coming out of your mouth!!

The next thing talks about what we do with our hands. Know that, whatever work you do will come back to you. What kind of work are you busy doing? Does it add to you and people around you or does it take away? Let us invest our time in doing things that will make an impact for good in the lives of other people and ourselves.

God’s Favour In Our Lives!

What are you seeking? Are you focused on the right things in life. I spoke about this in detail in a post entitled “What Are You Seeking” that I wrote last month but I came across a scripture that reminded me of it. This is one of my favourite scriptures which ministers to me everytime I read it.
In a world where we have been trained to be “realistic” what have we come to expect?

Proverbs 11:27 says:
He who diligently seeks good seeks [God’s] favour, but he who searches after evil, it shall come upon him.

He who DILIGENTLY seeks good seeks God’s favour! In all the things that you are doing, have you being seeking good? In other words have you being looking for positive results?
In the company you have started have you been expecting to succeed or fail?
In the plans that you have, do you expect to fail or to succeed?
When you seek and expect good things to happen to you in everything you are doing you are actually seeking God’s favour!
God wants you to be a success in every area of your life so you can be a blessing to others.
Yes bad things happen in life but don’t seek them. Don’t expect to fail. Don’t plan to fail because the word is clear when it says:

“but he who searches after evil, it shall come upon him.”

I encourage you to expect good things to happen to you. Seek good things to happen in your life. As you do that you are seeking God’s favour!!!
Amen!

Does Your Attitude Stink? Part 1.

What is your attitude like? Do people like your attitude? Do YOU like your attitude? My mentor taught me an interesting way to look at attitudes and I would like to share it with you.
Your attitude in life is important. It will determine how far you go. There is a saying which goes like, your attitude determines your altitude. I agree with that. Let me describe how my mentor described attitude to me.

I want you to think of attitude in aeronautical terms. They talk about the attitude of a plane depending on where the wings are leaning towards. And that is what an attitude is. It is the direction in which you lean in a situation. If you lean towards it you are said to have a good attitude and if you are leaning away from it you are said to have a bad attitude.
So let me give you an example of of what I mean. I love classical music. I think it is amazing. I listen to it as much as I can. If I had a choice between classical music and jazz music I would choose classical. Can you see that I am leaning towards classical music and that is considered a good attitude. I don’t have a good attitude about jazz because I am leaning away from it. And that is what an attitude is.

Now please understand, attitudes are neither good or bad until you set a goal. I can lean away from jazz but it doesn’t matter because I don’t have a goal. Before the goal my attitude towards jazz is just that, an attitude. It is neither good or bad. On the other hand, what if I had a goal to study jazz music, my attitude towards it would then be considered bad. I would have to review it and change it. Leaning away from jazz would not work now because I have a goal. Do you see that. In part two I will conclude on attitudes.

What are you seeking?

We live in a broken world. A world where negativity is the norm. You can hear it and see it everywhere. Media is fuelled by negativity. That is what sells. The more explicit and raw the material is the better. Our minds have been so seared by the negativity that we don’t flinch anymore. What was considered grotesque years ago is now normal. It is actually cool!! Bad, negative, doom has so infiltrated us that we have been blinded to what is really good.
The worst part of all this is that we stand by as our kids are being brainwashed by all the negativity in the world.
A friend once told me, as long as we live in this world we are being molded into it. We are being intergrated into it. And if we don’t do anything about it we will be lost in the world’s mold.
But God has saved us. He has set us apart from the world. No longer are we to conform to the pattern of the world. We live in this world but we are not part of it.

Now I come to the meat of the matter. The world has infiltrated us so much that we talk like the world. We even think like the world and behave like the world but that is not to be so.
What are we seeking as children of God? What do we expect as children of God? The world has infiltrated even this. We don’t really expect much anymore. We have been exposed to too much negativity that we don’t think we can expect good things all the time. But we can and should seek and expect good things to happen to us.
Let us look at a few scriptures that speak about this:
For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek Me [inquire for and of Me and require Me as you require food] and you shall live! Hosea 5:4

That is the first thing to seek. We need to seek God if we want to live. In this broken world we are to still seek Him. He is the key to life. But now as I read further I found something very interesting. We live in a broken world which is pushing us to conform to its mold. It has affected the way we see life. It has changed what we expect. It has changed the way we think and speak. But this next scripture helped me. It delivered me from that road. It says:
Seek (inquire for and require) good and not evil that you may live, and so the Lord, the God of Hosts, will be with you as you have said. Hosea 5:14
Wow! This verse is like the first one I shared but with a slight but significant difference. We are instructed to seek good and not evil if we are to live. I will say that again. WE ARE TO SEEK GOOD AND NOT EVIL IF WE ARE TO LIVE!!!
All our lives we are trained to seek and expect bad things. We are told to be “realistic”. But not anymore.
This is the thing, as we seek and expect good things we are seeking God and expecting Him! That is the truth that broke the lies the world had filled my mind with.
We need to train ourselves to seek and expect good things in our lives and in other peoples lives. It is so easy to expect doom and gloom but we are children of the light! God has called us so we can bring light into this dark world and we won’t be able to do that if we seek and expect bad things. It won’t happen if we are negative as well. So seek and expect God and understand that as you also seek and expect good things you are seeking God!

The last part of that verse says: “and so the Lord, the God of Hosts, will be with you as you have said”.
In my previous post I spoke about the power of your words and in this scripture we see it again. As we change what we seek and expect, it will be evident in how we speak. We will speak good things and we will speak life and God will do as we have spoken. He will deliver us because we have spoken it. He will save us because that is what we are speaking and expecting. So watch what you say.

As I end I will show you one last scripture:
He who diligently seeks good seeks [God’s] favour, but he who searches after evil, it shall come upon him. Proverbs 11:27

So let us seek God and let us seek and expect good things in our lives.
