Silence The Negative Voices At All Costs

“But they laughed at him.

After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were

with him, and went in where the child was.”

Mark 5:14

Negativity is all around us. That’s a given.

But we don’t need to live it out in our lives. The enemy is trying to use it to bring us

down but we must not let him succeed. We need to fight against the negativity

that comes our way, the voices that say we are ugly and the voices that say we will

never amount to anything, that nobody will love us and so many more words that

we are told.

In the scripture above we see that Jesus had to do the same thing. He had arrived

at Jairus house to heal his daughter but the people in the room laughed and made

fun of him.

And what did Jesus do?

He chased them out of the room. He didn’t give negativity a chance.

We can’t give negativity a chance.

What is your environment like?

What are you watching, listening to and reading on a daily basis?

What king of thoughts do you have of yourself and your situation? Are they

positive or negative?

What kind of words do you speak everyday?

All these things need to be looked at if you want to change your environment, if you want to

change the negativity that comes your way.

Encourage yourself with the word of God.

Surround yourself with the right friends.

Change what you read and listen to, replace negative words with positive ones.

But do something. Don’t just let negativity infiltrate your life without fighting it.

Take the necessary steps to change your environment.

God has amazing things in store for you and He is with you every moment of your life.

Bless you friends

Will you be that friend??

And her [promised] husband Joseph, being a just and upright man and not willing to expose her publicly and to shame and disgrace her, decided to repudiate and dismiss (divorce) her quietly and secretly.    Matthew 1:19

This is such an inspirational verse and it is one of my favorite scriptures. As I read the scripture this time round relationships came to mind.
In verse 18 we see that Mary was found with child through the power of the Holy Spirit but Joseph didn’t know that. It normal circumstances it meant Mary would be stoned to death. Was Joseph hurt? It could be possible. He had every right to be angry at her and tell everyone what she did but he didn’t……
Instead, he protected her, he covered her. Men, we need to learn to have that same mindset. We need to protect the women in our lives. We need to cover them. But I don’t want to just talk to the men. Let us look at this passage in the context of friends. As friends we need to be there for one another. The word says Joseph was NOT willing to expose her publicly! We need to cover our friends and not expose their faults for the whole world to see. If you see something not adding up in their life then you have a right to confront them but in a way that builds them up.

When you are confronting them or rebuking them do it with the mindset Joseph had. He didn’t want to expose Mary publicly even though it seemed like she slept with another man.
He didn’t want to disgrace and shame her. I would dare to say that his relationship with her was far more important than the “sin” he thought she committed.
Our friends need our support and love. They need us to be transparent and real. They want us to have their back. Will you be that friend?

Final thoughts before 2013 leaves us forever!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, 2013 is about to leave us forever but before it does there are a few things I would like to reflect on. There are thanks I would like to give and I like I said reflect. I would like to reflect my time as a blogger. It has been an amazing journey so far. There were times I wanted to give up, times I had writers block, times when I doubted myself but I am still here. You will see why very soon…..So here we go.

When did you start?
I started blogging at the start of 2012 and what a journey it has been. I have met so many people and I would like to mention a few of those people towards the end of this post.

Why did you start blogging?
I found out  one of my passions was writing just before starting the blog and needed to know if I was any good. So starting Kingspeech was just supposed to be a ginuea pig but it turned out to much more than that thanks to God. He really knows how to take the small and turn it into something big and even now, I feel like I have just started to see what God has in store.  I want to be a writer so this would be a great plattform to learn how to write from more experienced writers. I am still learning…..

But God is faithful. I have learned so much from blogging. The people I have met are all so amazing. Thank you for your encouragement, correction, and instruction. I never considered myself as the teacher but the student and I still do. I need all the teaching I can get.
God has blessed me beyond my wildest expectations….Next year is going to be crazy!!!!!  In a good way  😉

Here is a small list of people who have really inspired and encouraged me on this journey. We don’t accomplish all God has for us alone. God surrounds us with people to do that and I have had A LOT of people who have helped me. The list you see is a small amount, very small mount of people who have helped me. If you liked a post I wrote or commented on a post of mine or are following my blog you are considered in that circle of people who have helped me and encouraged me and I don’t take that lightly. Here is a list of some of the people who have been there for me and have really inspired me, and supported me through this journey,

Like I said, this is a very small list of people who have been insrumental in this blog being here. Thank you all so much and I look forward to going through 2014 with you all. God is good and faithful and I pray a blessing over you all. God bless

Thank You So Much For An Amazing Year!!!!

As the year comes to an end I have been doing some reflecting about this blog. A lot has happened in a space of a year. I started writing in January and I had no idea what God had for me. Because of this blog I have met you. My faith has been increased because of what I have learned. Your testimonies and teachings, and experiences and advise and encouragement and you transparency and your humor have impacted me like I never imagined. I thank God for this blog, I thank God for all of you!!!!!! I truly believe this was a God ordained thing and I don’t take it lightly. I am expectant to what the new year has in store especially concerning blogging.

I have written a lot of posts this year but I am not into writing for the sake of writing. The posts I have written and will continue writing are a part of me. They are what I feel God has spoken to me about and either wants me to work on or to share with you. I don’t take them lightly at all and as teachers we are double accountable for what we teach. With that in mind I have compiled a list of my favorite posts. Not just my favorite but posts that really spoke to me. This will be a reminder of what God has spoken to me about and if there are posts you haven’t read then at least you get to read them! So here we go……

1. Conversations As A Prayer In this post I speak about how we should watch our words when we speak to each other. Our words are powerful and that applies when our guard is down and we speaking to people.

2. Persistence vs Friendship Persistence will get you what friendship can’t! Sometimes we think our friendship with God will get us what we want in prayer but in this post I show  you why persistence is more effective.

3. 4 Reasons Why I Should Ask For WisdomWisdom is essential in every Christians life. I explore why we need wisdom.

4- Don’t Count The FishJesus wants us to make Him the center. The gifts are important but the Giver of the gifts is the One we should be focusing on!

5- What Is The Truth? What truth are you living by?

6 – Why Do We Get Burnt Out? – We don’t get burnt out because we are over working but because we are doing the wrong thing???

7 – How Are We To See And Read God’s Word? God’s Word is alive and living.

8 – I Refuse…A post about decisions!

9 – The Cure To LazinessDo you want to know the cure to laziness???

10 – Being A Man or Woman of ConvictionThe world needs more people who will stand by their convictions but not just any convictions but convictions that are based on the word of God.

11 – What Does Having Potential Really MeanHave you ever being told you have potential? In this post I discuss how every human being has potential. The case is not if we have potential but how much of our potential we have actually actualized?

12 – Just Because God Said… Just because God said you have a destiny doesn’t mean you will accomplish it! In this post I show examples of people in the word of God who lost their destiny….

13 – What You Need To Know If You Are CalledA lot of “called” people are not faithful with what God Has given them now. How can God bless you with your own if you are not faithful with what He has placed in your hands right now?

14 How Do I make God Bigger In My Life? God is Big. There is no doubt about that. But what happens if we see God as small in our lives??? In this post I discuss the symptoms of someone who has a small picture of God and the symptoms of someone who has a big picture of God.

So that is it. These are the posts which really impacted me this year. It has been a great first year and look forward to an exciting new year with you all!!!!!

God bless

Persistence vs Friendship. Part 1

There is something God taught me that I would like to share with you. It is actually a principle that I try to live by as consistently as I can.

PERSISTENCE WILL GET YOU WHAT FRIENDSHIP CAN’T!

Persistence is very important in a person’s life. Can you say that you are persistent in all that you do? Believe it or not but there is power in persistence.

Jesus tells a story about persistence and in this context, prayer. In Luke 11:5-10 He tells a story about a man who in need of bread goes to his friend at midnight. Even though he has a legitimate reason we read that the friend will not get up to give him bread. This is his friend who needs help but doesn’t get it. Friendship in this case is not enough. But listen to what will get him what he needs,

“I tell you, although he will not get up and supply him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his shameless persistence and insistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.”
Luke 11:8

Please understand, there are things that you can’t get because of friendship that you can get only through persistence!
What is the lesson here? It is ok to say you know God but He wants you to be persistent.

“So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.
For everyone who asks and keeps on asking recieves; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.
Luke 11:9,10

I have been in a lot of incidents where I wanted something from a friend but never got it only to get it after I bugged them daily!!!
This principle works. I have experienced it first hand.

In part two of this post I will expound more on this principle.
As I end always remember, Persistence will get you what friendship can’t!!
