Don’t carry that!

“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you;

He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall or fail).

Psalm 55:22

You can put it down now. You don’t have to carry that weight any longer. The Lord wants to carry

the burdens YOU are carrying. We go through life with the weight of the world on our shoulders

but that’s not the way it’s supposed to be. When we are under immense pressure we need to cast

it on to the Lord’s shoulders.

Remember, there is nothing too heavy for Him. There is no weight on earth or heaven that can

crush Him.  Sometimes we carry our burdens because we think He will let us down and will abandon

us when we need Him the most but God is not man. He is always faithful and will never ever

let us down.

You will not slip, fall or fail.

This doesn’t mean there will be no bad days, days you feel like giving up, or days you feel hopeless.

It means through it all you will not be moved.

When you fall you will get up.

When your back is against the wall the Lord will come in and save you.

When you are in chains, the Lord will rescue you, free you.

You will not be moved because the Lord is with you.

Cast it all to Him. Don’t leave one single thing. Learn to walk light.

“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns,

once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”

1 Peter 5:7

Give it all to Him. Your worries, your concerns, your fears, your anxieties, and your troubles.

He will help you with all the trouble you face. He knows what you going through and will not leave

you helpless.

Turn to Him today!

Bless you, friends

When faced with the impossible…

“Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘I am too old to have a baby?

Is anything too hard for the Lord?

No! I will return to you at the right time a year from now. And Sarah will have a son.”

Genesis 18:13, 14

Is anything too hard for the Lord?

The Lord was trying to show Sarah that her seemly “impossible” situation was not impossible for Him.

It really was impossible in human standards but not to God. He is bigger than anything we deem “impossible”.

What are you facing right now that seems “impossible”?

I am facing an “impossible” situation as well in this season. There doesn’t seem to be an answer to the

situation I am faced with. There is an option of just giving in to fear and hopelessness but this word

spoke to me.

Is anything too hard for the Lord?

I know God is challenging me to look to Him and trust. He has been speaking to me through that

verse. There is absolutely nothing in this world that is too big for Him to handle.

Where we make the mistake is trying to go on by ourselves in our own strength but that

won’t work. We will always fail when we try to do it in our own strength.

This is not a new struggle. I think of Moses who doubted God’s power and capacity. The Lord had

to remind Him how big He really was.

 “The Lord said to Moses,

Has the Lord’s hand (His ability and power) become short (thwarted and inadequate)?

You shall see now whether My word shall come to pass for you or not.”

Numbers 11:23

Your “impossible” situation may seem like a Mount Everest standing in your way but remember

there is nothing too big for God to handle.

Bring your fears, your anxiety, and your worries to Him. Put all your hope in Him.

There is nothing too hard for Him!

Bless you, friends…

Why we need to be still…….

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! (‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭10‬ NKJV)

I was meditating on this verse last night so I would like to

share some insights I got as I was doing that:

The word says, “Be still

Stop all the fretting and worrying!

Stop the voices of fear and doubt!

Silence everything!

Being still is proclaiming to the enemy you believe God is bigger

than what you are facing right now!

It is you proclaiming, that God is bigger than your fears!

It is you proclaiming God is bigger than your storm because

if you can’t take the time to be still but have the time to fret

and worry then what are you really saying???

That’s what being still means.

Because in stillness we will see God for who He really is!

We will see God exalted!

In stillness we see God!

In stillness we will know Him!

It’s hard to see Him when we are scurrying about. It’s hard to see Him when we are striving in our strength!
It’s hard to see Him when our minds are racing wondering what to do!

Being still requires us to make a deliberate effort to silence the loud voices!

No matter how loud and convincing the voices are, they need to be silenced.

In stillness EVERY voice is silenced, every voice except God’s!

In stillness truth is revealed and lies exposed!

Be still and know I am God!

Why “perfect” doesn’t work with God……!

In the past two weeks I have been feeling inadequate, not enough, useless, for the purpose God has for me. A door of opportunity has opened up for me but instead of proudly walking through it I have had doubts and more doubts! I have second guessed my ability and come up with a conclusion:

I am not the right person for the job. I am unequipped and unqualified for this.

But as I had that thought I was reminded of Jesus and the disciples! Jesus had chosen them, entrusted them with the job of spreading the good news after He was gone! They would be His hands and feet, they were to be His voice! They had some VERY big shoes to fill….

These are the men Jesus called:

– They couldn’t stay up and pray with Jesus in His most trying time!  Matthew 26:45

– They fled and abandoned Him when He needed them the most. Matthew 26:56

– Peter denied Him.  Matthew 26:74, 75

– They struggled to understand what Jesus was saying a lot of the time! Matthew 15:16

– They couldn’t cast out a demon because they lacked faith.                 Mark 9: 17, 18, 19

– They fought among themselves.   Luke 22:24

This is what Jesus had to work with. These men who had so many faults, these men who let Him down so much, these are the men who turned the world upside down for Jesus. They gave their all for Him! These were the men Jesus commissioned to spread the good news! Despite their flaws Jesus used them and He still does the same thing today!

God knows your faults, your weaknesses, your failings, but He has CHOSEN YOU!

Don’t think He has made a mistake because He hasn’t!

Whatever your weakenesses know that He wants to use you! Will you let Him use you??

Don’t believe the lie that God can’t use you because you are not perfect! We are far from perfect but God can still use us!

As you can see, my fears and anxieties were very irrational. After having those feelings I realised something, God wants me to trust Him every step of the way. He knew I wasn’t qualified but He wanted me to trust Him to guide me.

I have a sneaking feeling this won’t be the last time He calls me to something out of my depth! My purpose is way out of my depth not because He is mean but because He wants me to trust Him. If I can accomplish my purpose in my own strength how would God be glorified?

God’s calling is always bigger than you, it is always out of your depth! With all your faults and short comings He wants you to trust Him! He has an amazing plan for your life…..!

They truly missed it……….

Then they brought Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium (judgement hall, governor’s palace). And it was early. They themselves did not enter the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled (become ceremonially unclean), but might be fit to eat the Passover [supper].
John 18: 28

I was reading this verse when it occurred to me how far off the mark the pharisees were. They did not enter the Praetorium because they didn’t want to defile themselves!! If they defiled themselves they would not be able to partake of the Passover meal. Are you serious???!!!!  Didn’t they know the Passover was a shadow of Christ? They had the Messiah with them, the sacrificial Passover lamb but they didn’t realize it!!!!

That got me thinking about the Pharisees. How did they get so blind? We can learn a lot from them for sure. The one thing that came to mind was law and tradition. To the pharisees everything was about law and tradition. You had to do this and do that. Wash your hands in this way, pray this way, you have to, you have to……
And because of that attitude their hearts became hardened. Grace was not part of their vocabulary.
We need to be careful. Are we living by law or by grace?

Now a great crowd of the Jews heard that He was in Bethany, and they came there, not only because of Jesus but that they also might see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.
So the chief priests planned to put Lazarus to death also,  John 12:9, 10

The Pharisees were out of control and they were supposed to be spiritual leaders!!!
Another attitude that contributed to their crazy behavior was the fact that they thought works was enough! They relied on their own strength to get them to heaven. They thought by doing, they could obtain salvation. They prayed, tithed, went to church, memorized scripture, fasted, all because they thought it would impress God…..How wrong they were. Our works in the sight of God, are like filthy rags! Works are not enough.

Something else to notice about is this, to the pharisees everything was about what you could see. They focused all their attention on the external instead of what was on the inside. They measured themselves and other people on outward appearances!!! They ignored the heart. They never searched their own hearts. They never realized their hearts and become hardened. What a shame.

All these things blinded them. They blinded them and hardened their hearts. Let us be careful how we walk. Ask God for wisdom. Let us not be like the Pharisees who missed God. We can easily be misguided just like the them. Let us be aware of the enemies devices…….
