2020: Unfazed – Part 1

I think you can agree with me that this has been a crazy year. It’s been intense, difficult, challenging,

hectic and so much more. But in the midst of the craziness, something beautiful has been emphasized

and that beautiful thing is JESUS.

His grace, power, goodness, and faithfulness have shone through the darkness and if He wasn’t with

me in this season I can confidently say I wouldn’t be here today. It’s only by His grace that I have got so

far.

So in this new series simply titled “2020” I take some time to stop and look back at all the amazing things

God has done in the hope to encourage you because as 2021 fast approaches we need to go into it full

of hope, and full of faith.

And we do that by remembering His blessings and how good He has been to us.

We also need to settle something in our hearts,

There is nothing that can faze the Lord

There is nothing that can catch Him by surprise and

There is nothing that can limit Him

No matter what the enemy throws His way, it is nothing to Him.

So as Covid-19 has wrecked havoc in the world we need to know and be reminded that

God is stronger and greater than Covid-19. He is not limited by it and it hasn’t cast a spanner

in His plans. God is working more in this time and His plans for us are very much alive in this

crazy season and even though we may have no idea what’s in store next year we know that God

is with us and is protecting us and watching over us.

No weapon formed against us will prosper.

As I conclude I want to encourage you to not limit the Lord today. Keep dreaming, keep praying

and keep taking steps of faith in all that He has shown you. Don’t let the circumstances we are in

stop you from moving. Don’t let what’s happening in the world fill you with fear.

Be expectant for what God has in store for you. Look forward in hope because God is faithful.

Bring your fears, worries and anxieties for 2021 to Him.

He is your strong tower of refuge!

Blessings to you friends!

For our good…..

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together
for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28

All things work together for good to those who love God.
I love this!
As I look at all the bad things that have happened in my life to this point
it’s comforting to know that the Lord is working all those things together for my good.
The good and the bad all being worked together for my good!
What an amazing thought!

Life may be hard at the moment but take heart friend, He is working all things
together for your good.
You may have had a difficult past that you think you can’t recover from but be encouraged,                                                              the Lord is working your situation together for good.
Things may seem dim, bleak and hopeless right now but it will get brighter.
There will be a turn around I assure you. The darkness will turn to light. the closed
door will open, the defeat will be overcome by victories.
Hold on to this word because it is also prophetic. ALL THINGS are being worked
together for your good even if it doesn’t seem like it. No matter how hard the enemy
tries to derail your life the word says YAH is working ALL THINGS together for your good!

Will you take Him at His word? Will you believe Him?
His word is true and cannot be challenged. As you look at your life rest in the knowledge that the
Lord is at work in your life. You are not alone. His hand is on you.
He is so good! He is faithful and He can be trusted. Put all of your hope in Him.
Bless you friends….

You don’t have to stay as you are!

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah)

he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old

[previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away.

Behold, the fresh and new has come! “

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)

“The old has gone and the new is here!”

I love this passage of scripture. It really is good news for us as

sons and daughters of the Most High.

A few weeks ago I did a test that helps you identify what your

God given gifts are. I have done this test several times

throughout my life. In the past I always had a really low

score for administration which wasn’t good.

But when I did the test this time around, my administration

gift wasn’t low any more. It wasn’t in the top three but it was high

enough.

That really left an impression on me. Change had happened and

I have the Lord to thank for that.

The Lord is constantly working on me. Day by day I am being

renewed into the person He created me to be.

Does that mean I won’t make mistakes? No!

Does that mean change is a walk in the park? Heck no!

“And Saul was [not only] consenting to [Stephen’s] death

[he was pleased and entirely approving].”

Acts 8:1

Paul was a mess but God intervened in his life and turned it

around in such an amazing way. Paul is our example.

If God could totally transform Paul into a mighty man of God

who did mighty exploits for the kingdom, He can certainly do the

same thing in our lives.

What is your attitude towards change?

We need to change our attitudes.

God wants to change us but we need to get our attitudes

right.

If you think you will never change you are wrong. The Lord

has already made you new!

Who you are now can change with the Lord’s help alone.

You cannot change yourself! You need help.

The point of this post is to make you see that you can change

because you have already been changed into a new creation.

You may see flaw after flaw as you look at yourself but remember

the Lord is with you. He is with you changing you to be more

like Him.

You don’t have to stay as you are.

“The old has gone and the new is here!”

God bless you friends!

O my soul……!

Why are you cast down, O my inner self?

And why should you moan over me and be

disquieted within me?

Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him,

for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help

of my [sad] countenance, and my God.

Psalm 42:5

I can’t help but be encouraged as I read this

Psalm. It is clear the author is going through

stuff. But even as he goes through the “stuff”

he does something interesting. He begins to

talk to himself…..I think that is very interesting.

He doesn’t tear himself down, curse himself,

focus on how miserable and pathetic he is…No!

He encourages himself!!!!

He talks to his soul – “Put your hope in God!

Wow…..

There is a lesson to learn here. How do we speak

to ourselves? Especially when things are going bad?

It’s so easy to encourage yourself, and speak good

when everything is going well but what happens

when things get crazy??

It is said that the average human has 50 000 thoughts

running through his mind on a daily basis…..that is a huge

amount of thoughts right. How much of those thoughts

are positive, encouraging and uplifting???

Look at another verse with me:

Yes, my soul, find rest in God;

my hope comes from Him.

Psalm 62:5

What you say to yourself is very important.

Teach yourself to build yourself up.

Teach yourself to encourage yourself in the

Lord.

When everyone abandoned David, he encouraged

himself in the Lord! He didn’t beat himself up, or

tell himself how much of an idiot he was. He spoke

life over himself.

We need to speak to ourselves more often. We

need to speak more life. We need to speak the word

over ourselves. We need to encourage ourselves

to seek the Lord. We need to encourage ourselves

in the Lord.

Tearing yourself down doesn’t do you any good.

It actually makes things worse.

Think about something with me for a bit.

People trash talk themselves and tear themselves

down because they think they know who they are

right? There is no one who knows you better than

you. “I always forget things”, you say.

“That is exactly like me”

“I am so clumsy”

“I am horrible with faces”

But let me ask you something. Did you create

yourself? The answer would be no.

God is the One who created you and He is the

only One who knows who you really are. So why

do you speak to and about yourself like

you are the one who created yourself??? You

cannot trust your judgement about yourself.

We think we know ourselves but that is not true.

We may be way ahead than the closest people

in our lives but we still are not qualified to make

a final assessment about ourselves. We didn’t create

ourselves, God did. So before you tear yourself down

think about that. You don’t have all the information on

yourself so don’t be so quick to tell yourself who you

are. You are wonderfully and fearfully made….

Don’t forget that….
