He knows exactly what you need…..

“There, at the Temple Gate, was a man who had been crippled all his life. Every day he was carried to this gate

to beg. He would ask for money from people going into the Temple. The man saw Peter and John going

into the Temple and asked them for money.”

Acts 3:2

The man thought his problem was not having money but his problem was much deeper than that.

Peter and John knew what he really needed. I believe the Lord led them that way at that precise time.

He wanted to help the crippled man so He sent Peter and John.

Yeshua knows exactly what we need even if we don’t. That is why we trust Him with our lives.

We may not know how to articulate the things in our hearts but He can. Trust that He knows.

There is nothing about our lives that surprises Him. He knows it all.

The beggar asked for money but got what he really needed. The Lord knew what he really needed.

“Peter and John looked straight at him and said, “Look at us!” The man looked at them; he thought

they were going to give some money.

But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold, but I do have something else I can give you:

By the power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth – stand up and walk!”

Acts 3:4-6

I am not saying don’t ask for money. What I am trying to show is that the Lord knows exactly what you need

so trust Him completely where your needs are concerned. Depend on His goodness to give you exactly what

you need, when you need it.

You may not know what you really need but He does, so stop panicking about your life.

Pray with that understanding, live with that understanding.

People may not know where you are at in your life right now, and they may not know the cry of your heart

but that’s okay because Yeshua does. He knows where you are exactly. He knows everything that’s in your

heart. He knows exactly what you need for the season you are in!

He loves you so much.

Bless you

Walk and live in Him……

“Walk by the spirit!” I have heard that been said so

many times but if I am to be honest I didn’t fully

understand what that meant. I thought I did

but I really didn’t. Walking and living by

the spirit is not just about speaking in tongues or

praying 24/7 even though those things are extremely

important. I am going to bring a bit more understanding

and hopefully it will help you walk and live by the spirit.

This is what the word says about walking in the spirit:

But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the Holy Spirit

[responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit];

then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and

desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).

Galatians 5:16

It is very clear that as Christians we are supposed to

walk and live in the Spirit. So how do you walk and live

in the Spirit?

Let’s look at another scripture:

For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the

[Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are

opposed to the flesh (godless human nature);

for these are antagonistic to each other [continually

withstanding and in conflict with each other],

so that you are not free but are prevented from

doing what you desire to do.  Galatians 5:17

As we desire to walk and live in the Spirit we need

to understand something, there is a war going on

in us, a war between our flesh and the Holy Spirit.

We need to understand this. They are in conflict

with each other.

In other words, the flesh hates it when you allow

the Spirit to move through you, the flesh hates

anything Spirit which would be prayer, reading

your word, spending time with God, fasting,

meditating on His word and a whole lot more

and it is the same for the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit

hates flesh. He is opposed to it.

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify

the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

That is God’s desire for us, that we would

walk by the Spirit.

The question is how?

Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are

clear (obvious): they are immorality,

impurity, indecency,

Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealously,

anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions

(dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects

with peculiar opinions, heresies),

Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the

like. I warn you beforehand, just as

I did previously that those who do

such things shall not inherit the kingdom

of God. Galatians 5:19-21

As I read that scripture I realized

something, walking in the flesh is simply

doing any of the

things mentioned in the scripture above.

This scripture gives us great insight into

how the flesh operates. As I read it I

realized I had given the flesh a lot

of leeway in my life…..!

But we are called to walk and live

in the Spirit.

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the

work which His presence within

accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness),

peace, patience (an even temper,

forbearance), kindness, goodness

(benevolence), faithfulness,

Gentleness (meekness, humility),

self-control (self-restraint, continence).

Against such things there is no law

[that can bring a charge]. Galatians 5:22, 23

Walking and living by the Spirit

is fighting against the flesh. It’s about

getting rid of the idols in our lives, working

on that crazy temper, getting rid of envy,

and so on.

It’s about walking in love when we want to

hate, it’s about forgiving someone when

you want to hold a grudge………..

We are not perfect so this fight we are in

is a life long fight! We need the help of the

Holy Spirit to win. This is one fight you

will not win by yourself!

Look at one more scripture with me:

And those who belong to Christ Jesus

(the Messiah) have crucified the flesh

(the godless human nature) with its

passions and appetites and desires.

Galatians 5:24

This is what walking and living in the

Spirit looks like. It’s about crucifying

the flesh with its passions and desires

daily! Is it easy, heck no!

But it’s a fight worth fighting. We want

the Holy Spirit to have total control.

That is the goal…..

May we call on Him to help us walk

and live in the Spirit.

Amen

Why has God given me passions and desires???

This week has been a great one. Great because I have been thinking a lot. Thinking about next year, thinking about this year and so on. One of the thoughts I had though have been about the things God has given me. For example, my passion for kids. Not only my passion but the gift of being able to connect with children. It’s not something everybody has I know. I see now that it’s a gift from God. This is what I wrote in my journal yesterday:

20 December 2013

Lord, I have been wondering. What purpose do You have for me concerning children? I see the gift you have given me with children. It’s not normal. Does your plan revolve around kids church or is there more? I would like there to be more and not just with the kids in kids church but in the world. This gift you have given me is for a reason. You called me for something very specific concerning children and I want to be open to all that You have for me concerning children. I love kids so much especially  our kids at church.

This is what I am trying to show you, the things you are great at, things you are passionate about that no one else is, God has a plan. The passions and interests and likes and desires you have are not for nothing. God wants to use them to do great things. Don’t take those things for granted. Ask God what He would have you to do with the passions and desires and likes He has given you. It is not an accident that you like what you like and love what you love and are passionate about the things you are passionate about. I take comfort in that. I am hopeful that God will show me what else He has me to do with all the passions and likes and interests He has given me.  And I pray the same thing for you. There is so much more God has planned for you. The gifts God has given you are for a reason. The desires and passions you have are for a reason. God wants to bring them to maturity. He is going to use them in your life to do great things….
