Let faith lead you and not doubt, anxiety and fear.

“The just shall live by faith.”

Galatians 3:11

I was challenged a few days ago as I thought about this scripture and what it meant for me.

It’s not talking about having faith occasionally and it’s not talking about faith as an event.

Instead this verse talks about faith as a lifestyle, as the driving force behind everything we

do.

As I live my life there needs to be an expectation that God sees and is working things out

for my good. I need to believe He is faithful to what He promised and even though

things are hard, He will deliver me and that my best days are yet to come.

I am not where I am by accident, so there needs to be a conviction that God has led me here

and He is directing my every step. The things that are happening in my life are not a coincidence.

The things I am believing for will come to pass. He has a purpose and plan for the gifts and talents

He has given me. I was not an after thought when He made me so there is so much more in store.

That’s what it means to live by faith and that’s what I feel I was challenged about as I read that

verse.

When things don’t go the way we want or we encounter difficult times that’s when

it becomes harder to hold on to faith, to live by faith. The difficult things we face can distort our

vision. We can lose sight of how great God is and instead of living by faith the doubts, fear, and anxiety

lead us. Instead of faith we become discouraged and hopeless. We lose sight of the big picture and

go into survival mode. But that’s not the way God wants us to live.

The just shall live by faith.

In everything, He wants us to trust Him. In sickness, He wants us to trust Him for healing, in financial

turmoil He wants us to trust He will provide, in economic hardship He wants us to hold on to the truth

that He is our provider. When the door is closed He wants us to believe He can open the door.

When faced with a dark and grim life, He wants us to believe He has a future and an expected end

for us, that our lives will get better.

Don’t fall into the trap of getting by. As you work, or go to school have faith. He wants you to believe.

Because the truth of the matter is this;

The Lord is working on your behalf

The Lord is directing your every step

He is your Shepherd so you won’t lack

You were created for a purpose

Your life has meaning and relevance so even though it doesn’t feel that way, He is busy making sure

everything He planned and promised for you comes to pass!

Be expectant. Don’t take your life for granted. Don’t give up hope.

The Lord is in control and that’s all that matters.

Live by faith!

Blessings to you friends.

Even when you don’t sense it, He is with you!

In the midst of pain, confusion, storms, uncertainty, unrest, fear and

all the other stuff we are not alone.

Things are a bit crazy at the moment in my country.

But in the midst of the craziness I know YAH is with me. I don’t know what’s going to

happen but that’s okay because I am not in this alone.

I will keep looking to YAH for it’s in Him my hope lies.

I was so encouraged as I read the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego this week.

It put things into perspective for me.

The king made a statue and decreed that everyone bow down to it when they heard the sound

of music. (Daniel 3:4)

But the three friends refused to bow down to the image.

Because of that they were in serious trouble. They had to bow down or be thrown in the furnace!

(Daniel 3:6)

The whole city was against them. It seemed like they would die because of their

decision. No one came forward to defend them.

It was the three friends against Babylon and it seemed like they would lose.

But something amazing happened,

“Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot,

the flame killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. And these

three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning

fiery furnace.

Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his

counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?

They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.”

“Look! he answered, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire;

and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Daniel 3: 22-25

YAH was with them all along even in the fire! The fire was intense but they were not hurt by it because

YAH was with them. He wasn’t watching from a distance. He was right there with them!

That really encouraged me and I hope it does you.

We are not alone. No matter what we facing at the moment He is with us right

by our side. There is nothing to panic and fret about.

Not only is He with us but He will deliver us. He will save us from whatever is threatening

to drown us.

So don’t panic and fret when storms, fear, and uncertainty come.

He is with you through it all and will carry you. He will protect you.

Look to Him in whatever situation you going through.

Bless you friends

He is before me……!!!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

“I have set the Lord continually before me;

because He is at my right hand,

I shall not be moved.

Psalm 16:8

This verse was a great challenge to me.

There is so much that happens in a day, week, month and year

that one can forget God. But like the author I must set the Lord

continually before me.

There must be an intentional putting God before me when I get

ahead of Him. By doing this I win, and not the enemy.

When problems and difficult situations are all I see I must learn

to set the Lord continually before me

This is not a one time thing but a continuous process!

Whatever you are going through learn to continually set the

Lord before you!

Everyday, set the Lord before you!

Let’s talk about airports and purpose…..

As I sat at the airport in Sydney I couldn’t help but notice

how busy the airport was. Our Zimbabwean airport cannot

even begin to compare to the Sydney airport. In fact, I don’t

even have to go that far. I can simply look at O.R Tambo

International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. Compared

to us that airport is enormous. So sitting there at the airport,

thoughts of destiny and purpose came to mind!

God wasn’t speaking to me about airports only,

He was speaking to me about my life, about His vision

for my life……

Having a big airport doesn’t just happen!

Before anything can ever happen there has to be a vision for it.

The CEO of the airport in my country MUST get a vision

for a bigger airport! Nothing will ever change if that vision

isn’t there!

And that is how it is in our own personal lives. You must get

a vision for your life but not just any vision, God’s vision!

God has a purpose for you. That’s why you were born. Ask

Him to show you your purpose. I believe He will show you

if you genuinely want to know. Without a vision the word says

we perish! Without a vision there is no growth, just stagnation!

After the vision is there, he will need to think about construction.

He can have a vision of having the biggest airport in Africa and

even the world, but if he doesn’t start constructing new runways,

breaking down hangars to buid bigger ones and so on, that vision

is not going to happen. He must realise the current capacity

will not be suitable to accommodate the new vision! There

must be a change if the airport is to become bigger. He has

to start thinking global instead of local. He must abandon the

old systems and learn new ones if he is to be recognized globally

and be a force to reckon with!

That stands true for you and me. I was seriously convicted

by this point. My current capacity is not capable of

accomodating all that God has for me. I must realise this.

We must realise this!!!

I need to understand there must be a tearing down of the

old (old habits, old ways of thinking, old ways of talking) and so

on if I am to grow! I will not become the international airport

God has called me to be if I am comfortable with the old

airport!!! If I don’t see anything wrong with the old then I

am in deep trouble. Change begins when I see a problem

with the old! I hope I haven’t lost you………haha

The next thing the CEO will need to look at is education.

He has to make sure his staff are on the same page as he is.

They have to be trained but not just by anyone. He has to hire

the best in the world if they are going to have a chance! He has

to eradicate all small thinking at all costs.

He will have to think about sending his staff to some of the

major airports so they can get the vision! If he is to move

in the new vision he must make sure his staff are on the same

page. He has to encourage them. If someone doesn’t want to

get it then he has to cut off that person.

Do you have people who encourage you in what God has

called you to do? It’s important you hang out with the right

people.

Do you have a mentor?

If you are around negitive minded people all the time,

beware! They can pull you down, snuff the purpose right

out of you. They can discourage you from pursuing

God’s purpose for your life. Surround yourself with

like minded people, people who believe in you and

people who are not afraid to tell you the truth when

you go down the wrong path!

Disclaimer

This is a very broad description of what an airport

might do if they wanted to change. Don’t quote me on

any of the technical steps! I was looking at the airport from a total

outsiders point of view, as someone who has no idea of how or

what makes an airport tick!

I thought I should make that clear in case one of you works

at an airport and thinks, what the heck is he talking about???

🙂

As I end be encouraged. God is busy working on your

behalf. His purpose for your life will be accomplished if you

decide to trust Him. Expect Him to do big things in your

life friend because I believe He can and will!

Amen

What did He mean when He said that…..??

“They then said, What are we to do, that we may [habitually] be working the works of God?

[What are we to do to carry out what God requires] John 6:28

Personally, I think this is a great question. The people who asked the question had just being rebuked by Jesus (see John 6:24-27).

The question is great but that is not what caught my attention! Jesus reply is what caught my attention. Look at it for a minute:

“Jesus replied, This is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He sent [that you cleave to, rely on, and have faith in His Messenger]. John 6:29

Our WORK according to the Lord is to believe in Him! I love how the Amplified says it,

“that you believe in the One Whom He sent [that you cleave to, rely on, and have faith in His Messenger]”

That can’t be all God expects from us! There has to be more surely!

There is more, but the main thing is to trust Him, to believe in Him!

This is how Jesus answer looks like in our lives:

In 2015 I believe this is what God is calling us to. Yes, we believe but we need to go deeper. We can’t say we believe but in the same breath try to work things out in our strength, or try figure how things will happen! I am so guilty of doing that.

How many times I have pushed God out of the driver’s seat

How many times I have tried to figure out life on my own

How many times I have forsaken the counsel of God because I thought I knew better

2015 may seem uncertain but believe in Him! Your work is to believe in Him.

Your future may look bleak but believe in Him!

Our job is not to figure out how things will happen, how God’s promises will manifest in our lives, No!

The “how” is what God is responsible for!

Your WORK is to believe [cleave to, trust, rely on, and have faith in Him]

Personally, there are a lot of things I am unclear about. There are a lot of things I have been wondering about! How will God bring that to pass, how will that happen, how how how????

But the word is clear. Our job is to believe, and we believe because

He is able!

He has a plan and a purpose for us (Jeremiah 29;11)

He loves us.

He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.

So with that I charge you to believe! No matter how bad things are or confusing they seem, or unclear, BELIEVE!

The “HOW” is His responsibility!

He can be trusted!

The Tale Of The Complimentary Milkshake!!!

I had a very interesting experience this past week when I was at work. We had a crazy weekend one where customers all came in at the same time. I work in a coffee shop on top as well as running my own company. The coffee shop I work in is owned by the church I attend so we get a lot of Christians. Anyway, as I was working I served two very interesting ladies.
As lunch was about to end one of the ladies called me and asked me for a complimentary milkshake. I was in no position to give it to them even though I am a manager at the coffee shop reason being I am still on probation.
I told her I would ask the general manager but in my head I knew he would say no. She said she was a regular customer but in the time that I have been here which is about a month I had never served her! As I left the table to go ask the general manager she stopped me and told me that she usually gets what she wants because she has favor!!!!
I know…. I was surprised at her statement! I still went and asked the general manager and sure enough he started asking me questions like, why she wanted a complimentary milkshake and if she was a regular customer? I honestly didn’t know her and that is what I told him but instead of saying no he actually said yes!!! He didn’t know her as well but he said yes and he told me to give her the milkshake!

This really spoke to me. This lady knew who she was and she was not afraid to declare it. What do you believe about yourself? Are you declaring what God says about you? This lady was not afraid to declare what she believed even to a stranger (me)! If you know you are blessed are you declaring it? If you know you have favor are you declaring it?
Get the picture?
It is time we start declaring what God says about us. Our words have power and we need to act like we believe it!!!

Faith – Do You Have Your “Title Deeds”?

This is not a post about buying or selling houses but about faith. We all have a measure of faith. Some have big faith and some have small faith but we all have a measure of faith. I would like to share what I got from Hebrews 11:1. We all know this chapter and verse. I would like to read it from the Amplified bible. Hebrews 11:1 says:

Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith percieving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

I really like the way the Amplified explains faith. Faith is the confirmation and the title deed of the things we hope for.
We have a lot of things that we need God to come through for. Our faith is the “title deed” of those things. In the natural we know what a title deed is. A title deed is given to someone who owns a house as proof that the house is theirs. You can try and convince the owner that the house is not theirs, or you can take them to court but it is all in vain if they have the title deed.
So the word says our faith is like the title deed of a house. People can say you won’t succeed or that you won’t own your car but your faith nulifies all those negative things. If you have faith, you have the “title deeds” to what you hoping for! No one can take it from you. Is that not amazing?

The verse goes on and says that faith is percieving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses.
You may not have that house yet but in your mind it is real. You can see the colours. You can see the car park. You can see yourself sitting in your lounge. You can see yourself cooking in your kitchen. Your house is real to you. That is what faith is about. You may be living in a rented house now, struggling to make ends meet but you can see your “other” house. You have a conviction that it is real. You have a conviction that God has answered your prayer. That is faith!

As I end I would like to say that we are commanded to live by faith. When God commands it is not for the sake of being difficult but because we will be blessed if we listen to Him.
Hebrews 10:38 says:

The just shall live by faith.

He is not asking you to live by faith. He is not suggesting it. He is commanding you. He is saying, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH!!
We need to live by faith all the time. It is for our own benefit. The men and women of faith died controlled and sustained by their faith. Faith in what? They died controlled and sustained by their faith in God! Hebrews 11:13 –

These people all died controlled and sustained by their faith.

Will we be those kind of people? Can we live a life being controlled and sustained by faith? I think we can. Let us carry our “title deeds” with conviction! Amen.
