When will the Lord answer us?

Is this the day?

Is this the day the door opens?

Is this the day my prayers are answered?

Is this the day I get my breakthrough?

The truth is I don’t know the day but that’s not the point. The point is to be expectant.

The point is to put your hope in the Lord. Today could be the day but if it’s not keep trusting,

Keep declaring, Keep doing, fully confident the day is coming.

The question is no longer, “will the day come” but “when is the day”.

The enemy will try to deceive you into believing the day won’t come. He will try to make you believe

the sickness is permanent, the lack is permanent, the broken relationship is permanent, the addiction

is permanent, the list goes on and on but he is wrong.

Your answer to prayer will come, it might be already here, the sickness will leave, you are healed,

what the enemy stole will be restored, poverty will be broken off your life…..I think you get the

picture.

Mephiboseth was a cripple and didn’t have much going for him. As a baby his nurse fled with him but

in her haste she dropped him and he became a cripple. He didn’t have a say in the

matter. (2 Samuel 4:4) Talk about an unfortunate circumstance.

But when all was lost something pretty amazing happened.

“The king said, Is there not still someone of the house of Saul to whom I may show the [unfailing, unsought,

unlimited] mercy and kindness of God?”

2 Samuel 9:3

There is nothing Mephibosheth did differently to get the kings attention. No one went to the king and

appealed on his behalf, no. He was a nobody in one instant and in the next he was eating at the

king’s table! And that is why we must live a life of expectancy and faith.

I don’t think Mephibosheth had any idea his life would change so drastically. But as sons and

daughters of the King we can be expectant. A life without hope is death. What David did

for Mephibosheth is a picture of the Father’s heart I believe. We don’t deserve His goodness, grace

and mercy but He has given it anyway.

Like Mephibosheth the Lord can do the same thing and more. We need to be expectant always.

Expect YAH to move in your life today.

Expect an answer to your prayers.

Expect healing, expect deliverance, expect breakthrough.

The Lord is faithful. He won’t let us down.

Have a great weekend friends……

The curtain is torn!

“With a loud cry, Jesus breathed His last.

The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”

Mark 15:37, 38

I was really encouraged this week as I read this scripture. In the old testament the high priest was

the only one who could go into the Holy of Holies but once a year. (Exodus 26:31, Leviticus 16:2)

The people could not go to YAH on their own because they would die if they did. They needed a

mediator.

“The Lord said to Moses, “Tell your brother Aaron that he is not to come whenever he chooses

into the Most Holy Place behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover on the ark, or else

he will die.”

Leviticus 16:2

That was intense. There were was no open communication between YAH and the people

but Yeshua tore that barrier down by what He did on the cross.

We now have access to YAH anytime because of what He did.

I know this is not rocket science but do we really take FULL advantage of this amazing blessing?

We can go to YAH anytime. In the middle of the night, when things are going downhill, when

we have sinned and are riddled with guilt, when we feel condemned…….

We can come to Him anytime! There is never a bad time to approach Him!

If you think there are specific times you can go to Him then you have been deceived, if you

think there are people that have more reason to approach Him than you then you are also wrong.

The curtain has been torn in two. The barrier that kept us from Him has been demolished forever.

This week has been great because I have been taking more advantage of the amazing blessing

of His presence. To know I can talk to Him at ANYTIME has brought joy to me.

When I think I am alone, He is right by my side waiting to spend time with me.

The problem is me. I am the one who allows things to come between us. I choose other things

in place of spending time with Him

And then there are the times when I mess up, when I sin. I keep away from Him at times thinking

He doesn’t want to be anywhere near me but its just not true.

As I end this post I want to leave you with the realization that the line of communication between you

and YAH is open! You don’t have to wait for the right time to approach Him.

Go to Him now as you are.

He loves you so much, beyond what you can ever comprehend.

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive

mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Hebrews 4:16

Bless you friends

Where does your validation come from??

i-am-of-worth

As humans we crave applause, attention and acceptance.  We

want to be validated but how far will we go to get it?

As I talk about validation I really need to talk about self esteem

because in my eyes these two things are linked closely together.

When we esteem ourselves highly the less we look to man to

validate us.

One of my mentor’s described self esteem this way, self esteem

is your estimation of your own worth!

How much value do you place on yourself?

Do you esteem yourself highly?

People may have their own opinions about

you but you should value yourself highly. You should be your

biggest fan no matter what.

But what should your estimation be based off? What is your

measure?

The word of God should be your measure!

God knows the truth about you so seek out what He says about

you.

His word has so much amazing truths to declare to you about you….

Be real about your shortcomings but be wise how you approach

them. Tearing yourself down is probably doing more

damage than people’s negative  words to you!

So like I said, be honest with yourself. When you make a mistake

admit it but correct yourself in a way that still

maintains your value. I was really bad at doing this. I used to tear

myself down badly. I thought that was the right thing to do

but I was wrong. No matter how wrong I am God would NEVER

tear me down so why do I think it’s okay??

We all sin so it’s natural to speak negative. We don’t need to put

much effort into speaking and thinking

negatively. It’s hard to NOT speak negatively. It’s hard to NOT

gossip. It’s hard to NOT think negatively.

We have to be very intentional and deliberate about being positive

and encouraging and we need help!

We need affirmation, we need encouragement, we need support but

is that the main drive behind everything we do?

But when He was in Jerusalem during the Passover Feast, many

believed in His name [identified themselves with His party] after

seeing His signs (wonders, miracles) which He was doing.

But Jesus [for His part] did not trust Himself to them, because

He knew all [men];

And He did not need anyone to bear witness concerning man

[needed no evidence from anyone about men], for He Himself

knew what was in human nature. [He could read men’s hearts.]”

John 2:23-25

Jesus didn’t seek validation from man. He was content because

God validated Him!

“As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.

At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of

God descending like a dove and alighting on Him.

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love;

with Him I am well pleased.”

Matthew 3:16, 17

What just happened there? Jesus was being validated!

He wasn’t looking for applause or encouragement from man,

He came to accomplish the mission He was given by God!

We need to be careful when it comes to who we look to for

validation.

Man never created you, God did so He is the only one qualified

to tell you who you really are.

Your best friend may know you better than the average person

but that doesn’t mean they know the real you.

It may be argued that your family knows you best but it’s just

not true. They know you better than anyone else but they still

don’t know the real you.

God is the only One who knows you in and out!

You can’t even trust your own assessment of who you really

are because once again, you didn’t create you, God did! So stop

with the “this is the way I am” statements because your

assessment is not 100% accurate.

Think about a house for a minute. Let’s say you are selling it.

It would be crazy asking a friend or random

stranger to tell you what the value of the house is. You have to go

to the real estate agency to get an accurate value.

Stop letting people tell you what your value is.

Today you have an opportunity to make a decision.

Just because someone sees you one way doesn’t mean that’s

who you are. (that’s really good news!!)

That’s the way they see you and not the way God sees you.

Because we are flawed we see in part. No one sees perfectly,

just God, remember that.

You don’t have to confine yourself to the perceptions of others.

You can break out of that.

You can decide to be the person God has created you to be. Let

Him show you who you really are. I believe there is so much to

still discover about ourselves. If we stop at, “this is the way I am” or

believe someone’s assessment of who we are then we limit

ourselves. If God really created us (which He did) surely there is

more right??

Surely there is more to us than what people see? !!!!

And on that note I will stop here.

Challenged by a soldier.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Then Jesus turned to the captain and said,

“Go. What you believed could happen has happened.”

At that moment his servant became well.

Matthew 8:13 (MSG)

I read this scripture last night and thought to myself,

Is faith really that simple? Have I made it out to be

complicated, and mysterious?

I was challenged by the Roman centurion’s faith. It was

bold, unwavering…..sure!

Jesus offered to go to his house but the centurion refused!!

If I was in his shoes my answer would be a big yes!

“Off course You can come to my house Jesus……”

But not the centurion! He had so much faith in Jesus that

he knew just a word from the Savior would heal his

servant!!! Can you imagine that? That was bold!

“What you believed could happen has happened. At that

moment his servant became well.”

As I meditated on that verse I looked at my own life.

What am I believing for in my life?

What do I believe can happen in my life?

You may have the same questions and let me tell you,

these are important questions.

The Roman centurion believed Jesus would heal his servant

and he received what he believed.

In my believing, in your believing, are you confident Jesus

will come through for you?

Do I believe I will get what I am believing for, do you?

Like I said, these are important questions and they must be

answered.

There are things I am trusting God for and after reading this

scripture I am challenged to hold on to what I believing for

no matter how “impossible” they seem.

God will not let me down. When I put my faith on the line

He will respond, it may take time at times, or He may respond in a

way I am not expecting which is almost always the case but

the fact is this, He will respond when I believe in Him, when

I trust in Him completely and He will most definitely respond

to you.

He is control friends. Don’t be afraid to believe in Him.

He responds when we put our trust in Him and that is a

fact! All glory to Him!

What it means to have a purpose!

Most Christians know God has a plan for their lives.

But when they  are told God has a plan for them, a purpose,

What does that mean? What does that mean for us??

To answer that question I will look at the life of Abraham

the Father of faith!

“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your

people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

Genesis 12:1

  • For Abraham, having a purpose meant having to leave

the familiar behind! He didn’t know where he was going but

He trusted God. He took everything he owned and moved!

Could that still apply today? Could God be calling us out of

our comfort zones to a place we have never heard of before,

to a place we have never been to before?

Is he calling us out of the familiar? Is it possible to experience

the new if you haven’t let go of the familiar, if you are in your

comfort zone??

“Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham”!

“Here I am, “he replied.

Then God said, Take your son, your only son, whom you love-

Isaac-and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt

offering on a mountain I will show you.” Genesis 22:1-2

Because Abraham had a purpose God tested him!

He told him he was to sacrifice the one thing he loved more than

anything else – his son! God tested with him with something

he held dear to his heart, his son!

Could it be possible that is our story too? Does God want to make

sure He is first in our lives by testing us?? We say we love God and

He is the most important thing in our lives, but is that the truth???

Only He knows!

After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:

Do not be afraid, Abram.

I am your Shield,

your very great reward.

But Abram said, Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I

remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of

Damascus? And Abram said, You have given me no children;

So a servant in my household will be heir.

Then the word of the Lord came to him: This man will not be

Your heir, but a son who is your flesh and blood will be your heir.

He took him outside and said, Look up at the sky and count the

stars – if indeed you can count them. Then he said to him, so shall

your offspring be.

Abram believed the Lord, and He credited to him as righteousness.

Genesis 15:1-6

Because Abram had a purpose he had to trust God! He had to think

bigger and grander! God’s purpose for our lives is huge but faith

in God is the key. God’s plan for your life will not make sense to

a carnal mind a natural mind! You need faith to see it and accept it!

We know without faith it is impossible to please God. He wants us

trust Him.

Something you need to look out for as you walk in God’s purpose

for your life:

Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. But she had

an Egyptian slave named Hagar, so she said to Abram, “The Lord

has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave;

perhaps I can build a family through her.”

Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

Genesis 16:1-5

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see what really happened.

Sarai knew what God had promised her along with Abraham but

what really happened? In Genesis 15 it tells us Abraham believed

God and it was counted to him as righteousness but in chapter 16

we read something different. Sarai suggests to Abram that he

sleep with Hagar and he agrees!  Why would Abram agree to that?

He clearly heard from God!

Did he think God had abandoned him?

Had he lost so much hope that he resorted to trying to make things

happen in his own strength?

Was he tired of waiting on God?

Did he focus on his old aged body and Sarah’s deadened womb and

let his carnal mind take over?

We really don’t know but what we do know is he agreed to go

along with Sarah’s plan! They had lost hope in God and set out

to accomplish God’s plan in their own strength!

They were discouraged and dejected!

There are things God

will allow and take you through to strengthen you. Like I said before,

it is by faith and faith alone you will accomplish God’s purpose for

your life. Yes, you will need to step out and do things but you will

need faith! If Abraham the Father of Faith could lose hope in God

and rely on his own strength what does that mean for us? It means

we have to be humble and admit we can’t do this alone!

God wants you to walk in the purpose He has for you. Don’t be

afraid.

Trust Him to lead you because He knows the way! He made the way!

Everything He does for you is because He loves you! Your purpose is

amazing and glorious! Be bold and confident as you step into it!

Three hours later……

Why do people not see how powerful their words are? Three hours have passed and I am still struggling with the words that were spoken to me by a pastor friend. He may have thought he was being sincere but his words reached their target. No matter who you are words hurt. You may be a seasoned Christian or the hulk but the fact remains, words hurt. I think I am a very confident person with a healthy self esteem but his words broke through all of that!

If your words are not going to build, encourage, inspire, and bring out the best in someone then don’t say it. Why would you say something you know will hurt someone? If you know it’s going to hurt them then don’t say it. Let us honor people by the way we speak to them. You may think you are being real and being realistic but you are simply hurting them. Yes people need to hear the truth and yes they need to be confronted but we need wisdom in how we speak to them!

As I conclude remember, no matter who you are words hurt.

Rolain

The word being declared….!!

I have been taught, the word of God in our mouth is just as powerful as the word of God in God’s mouth. Our word’s have power and even more so when we speak the word. There is power when we declare things over our lives, family and other things. There is a scripture I want to declare. It may be applicable to you or it might not but that’s OK. God has really been giving me a lot of scripture, scripture which I believe I should share. I am going to be declaring Psalm 21: 1-7 and I will personalize it because that is what I do at times. I will read it from the Amplified version.

I shall joy in Your strength, O Lord; and in Your salvation how greatly shall I rejoice!

You have given me my heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of my lips. Selah

For You send blessings of good things to meet me; You set a crown of pure gold on my head.

I asked life of You, and You gave it to me – long life forever and evermore.

My glory is great because of Your aid; splendor and majesty You bestow upon me.

For You make me to be blessed and a blessing forever; You make me exceedingly glad with the joy of Your presence.

I trust, rely on, and is confident in the Lord, and through the mercy and steadfast love of the Most High I will never be moved.

I hope this word ministers to you as it has ministered to me…….

Rolain

You will not be disappointed…..

Thought of the day.

We really need the word in our lives. It is the main authority or should be the main authority in our lives. With that in mind I would like to share a scripture with you. It’s an amazing scripture and it’s in Psalm 22:4, 5 and it says;

Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted (leaned on, relied on You, and were confident) and You delivered them.                                                                They cried to You and were delivered; they trusted in, leaned on, and confidently relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed.   (Amplified)

I love this scripture because it tells us about who God is. He is our God and He can be trusted-that is a fact! As God came through for our fathers, He will do the same for us. As He delivered them so it is with us. As they trusted in God they were not put to shame or confounded or disappointed so it is with us. Yes they must have had their fair share of trials and challenges and failures but overall they were never put to shame, confounded or disappointed!

The conclusion is this, call on God because He will deliver you!

Trust in God because you will not be ashamed or confounded or disappointed!!!

As our fathers put their faith on the line God responded to their faith, so it will be with us. No matter what you trusting God for please know He will not let you down. He will respond to your faith. As He was faithful to our fathers He will be faithful to us…Amen!!!

A lesson to learn from the Pharisees concerning children…

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere and that a riot was imminent, he took a basin of water and washed his hands in full sight of the crowd, saying, “I’m washing my responsibility for this man’s death. From now on, it’s in your hands. you’re the judge and jury.”                                                                                                                                                         The crowd answered, We’ll take the blame, we and our children after us.” Matthew 27:24, 25    (The Message)

The Pharisees were out of control. They had no clue what they were doing. I could of understood if they condemned themselves but they went on to condemn their children. That was not on…..you can’t just say that!!!!                                                                                                                                              But there is a lesson to be learnt from this. The Pharisees actions were going to affect the next generation to come. The problem is, the Pharisees  spoke but the children couldn’t object. They were either too young or not born yet. Whatever the case it was wrong.

I have to confess something though. I am up in arms about the Pharisees response because I read one of my other favourite scriptures a few days ago. This is what it says,

Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

For He has strengthened and made hard the bars of your gates, and He has blessed your children within you.        Psalm 147:12, 13

What an amazing scripture this is. God has blessed my children within me!!! It’s such a wonderful truth. If you are single and not yet married know that God has blessed your children within you. If you are married and you have kids then know that your kids are blessed and they were blessed by God a long time ago. I hope you can see why I am not happy about what the Pharisees did. Their children had been blessed by God but they were bringing a curse on them. What did they do to deserve that? This a warning to us as well. Yes God has blessed our children within us but we have a responsibility to grow them up in the ways of the Lord. We have to pave the way for them. We need to pray for our kids and teach them and guide them. As a single person you have to watch yourself. What you do determines how your kids will grow up. If you commit adultery you are going to make it harder for them. If you go to jail for murder or if you steal you are just going to make it harder for them. We have a part to play in this. God will hold us responsible if we don’t take this seriously.

I am going to do my part by asking for God’s help in the areas I am struggling in. I will try and live a life of purity. I will seek God and make sure He is always first so that when my kids come I can teach them the way correctly. I know God has great things in store for them and I want to prepare them as much as I can. I want them to trust God completely, I want them to be confident in who God has called them to be. I want them to love God with all of their hearts. I know it’s not just a want of mine but a desire, a declaration. They will do great things for God because He has blessed them. They will love and trust the Lord with all their hearts but I have a part to play. You have a part to play. The word says, “He has blessed your children within you”.

The life you live is not just for you. It’s so much bigger than you. God bless….
