With So Many Reasons To Live In Fear, Trust God Instead.

There are so many reasons to live in fear today.

You don’t have to go far to find fear. It’s all around us.

It’s on television, radio, the newspaper, Facebook feeds, WhatsApp Group Threads and so much more.

So what must we do when we come face to face with fear?

For the answer let’s get into the Word Of God.

In the second book of Chronicles chapter twenty, King Jehoshaphat was given some bad news.

A huge army was about to attack him. Let’s read what happened next,

“Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat saying, There cometh a great multitude

against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar,

which is Engedi.

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout

all Judah.”

2 Chronicles 20:2, 3

When the king heard the news he feared. He didn’t try to hide it or ignore it.

But instead of allowing fear to overwhelm and paralyze him he set himself to

seek the Lord for help against the mighty army that came against him.

And when he sought the Lord for help, the Lord fought for him and destroyed

the army that came against him.

So like Jehoshaphat, seek the Lord for help when you are face to face with fear.

He will help you always.

He will hear your prayer as you cry out to Him.

Put your trust in Him in times of fear.

Bless you friends

How to see God when life is difficult.

What problem are you dealing with today? What is getting you stressed, anxious and fearful?

As children of God we know the answer is to call on God but it’s harder said than done.

We live in a world that’s full of negativity. A world that doesn’t acknowledge a Savior.

A world that promotes bad news in every facet of life.

It’s not hard to find hopelessness, negativity, discouragement and the list goes on.

And the trap we keep falling into is accepting all that negativity. We accept a truth that’s made up and a truth

that is not a truth.

We need to be very careful what we are feeding our selves with today. The enemy’s goal is to destroy our

faith in God. If he can do that he can do his work which is to kill, steal and destroy.

But there is a way to fight his devices and it’s found in Mark 5.

There was a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years. She had spent all she had on doctors but

was getting worse. Her situation was bleak. For twelve years she was in pain with no hope of healing.

She just kept getting worse but one day she heard about Jesus.

The words tells us,

“She had heard the reports concerning Jesus, and she came up behind Him in the throng and touched

His garment.

For she kept saying, If I only touch His garments, I shall be restored to health.”

Mark 5:27, 28

The circumstances around her were bleak but when she heard about Jesus things changed. She had faith in

Jesus and changed her confession. She charged her environment with faith using her words.

We are surrounded by so much negativity but we don’t have to accept it as our reality. Jesus is

our answer.

We can change the result with our words. Instead of letting fear, hopelessness and anxiety determine

our situations we can inject faith in those situations and see God move and do the impossible.

The woman kept saying.

We need to charge our environment with faith so much that we begin to see victory, and breakthrough.

We can’t let the negativity and hopelessness in the world steal our faith in God.

No matter how bad things get there is always breakthrough and deliverance because God is with us.

The enemy doesn’t want us to see God as the answer.

Put your faith in God today. Charge your environment with faith.

Faith in God is what will get you through the hard times.

Faith in God’s ability will bring you the deliverance and healing you need.

Bless you friends

Bad news doesn’t mean the end of you…

We live in a world that is saturated with evil. But how do you respond

when bad things happen? Just the other day I got some news that was bad but I had to stop myself. How was

I going to respond to it. was I going to freak out and lose it? Was I going to let fear get the best of

me?

We always have a choice of how we respond to bad news.

Jairus was in trouble. His daughter was very sick and he needed help. That is when he decided to go to

Jesus for help. All was going well. He met with Jesus and told Him his problem and Jesus agreed

to go with him to his daughter. But on his way to his daughter something happened;

“While He was still speaking, there came some from the ruler’s house, who said [to Jairus],

Your daughter has died. Why bother and distress the Teacher any further?”

Mark 5:35

In that split second Jairus’s world collapsed. His daughter died. Despair was already walking through the

door of his soul.

Like I said before, we live in a world that is saturated with evil. Bad things happen. But how we respond

is so important. Let’s move on.

Despair was almost through the door but before it could make itself comfortable Jesus stepped in.

“Overhearing but ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue,

Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing.”

Mark 5:36

In the face of bad news, Jesus told Jairus to believe and not give in to fear. He told him to believe

that He could turn things around.

We don’t have to give in to the bad news that comes our way. I don’t know what kind of news you

have received today but you don’t have to accept it. There is another option. You have another

choice. You can keep on believing…

You can decide to keep trusting God instead of giving in to fear, instead of accepting the bad news

you have been given. It takes faith to do that. Choosing to trust God over believing the bad news

takes faith and only faith.

King David was another man who had to deal with some really bad news. When he got back to

Ziklag he found his home had been plundered. The enemy had taken everything of his and his soldiers.

Their families were taken, their possessions were gone. There was nothing left.  There was even talk

among the soldiers of killing David. He was in a really bad place but he did something really amazing.

Let’s take a look at what he did;

“David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them

all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters.

But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.”

1 Samuel 30:6

His hope in the face of the bad news was in the Lord. He didn’t let fear overcome him. Instead,

he encouraged himself in the Lord. He reminded himself of how good the Lord was to him.

He brought to remembrance how the Lord delivered him from his enemies!

(That’s what I think he was doing!)

How do we respond to bad news? I hope you can see it’s really important how you respond.

You can either accept what has happened or make a decision to put your hope in the Lord.

Let’s make the right decision today, the decision to trust God.

Bless you, friends!

Watch what goes in……

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

contaminate:

to soil, stain, corrupt, or infect by contact or association

Today I will be talking about the contamination that happens in our hearts. We really do need to be careful

what we hear, who we hang out with, what we watch, what music we listen to….

Because it’s through those things we can contaminate ourselves.

Let me share a story with you of something that happened this week;

I was with some people who were speaking really negatively about a situation concerning the country.

The more the conversation went on the more uneasy I became. I could literally feel the fear creep in to me

as they spoke. I wanted to get out of there but I didn’t. I stayed. (wrong choice)

There is so much in this world that can contaminate and pollute our hearts so we must be on our guard

at all costs (Proverbs 4:23).

What are you listening to on a daily basis?

Who are you hanging out with?

What are you watching?

It’s hard to hear Yeshua’s voice when your heart is corrupted. It’s especially difficult to move in faith

when fear has entered your heart.

It’s hard to pray for healing when all you have filled yourself with, is words of death.

Stay away from toxic conversations. Reduce the amount of news you watch or read if that’s what gets

you out of peace?

Stay away from things that make you fearful and terrified, anxious and worry.

Those are the things that contaminate and pollute.

Guard your self at all costs!

Bless you

What choice will you make when life looks bleak?

“Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you.

Not as the world gives do I give to you.

Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop

allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit

yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

John 14:27

We have a choice today.

When things are at their worst we can respond in fear. We can begin

to panic and fret. We can talk about how we are doomed. We can talk about

how are going to suffer. We can let dread take over.

We can choose hopelessness.

Or we can listen to what Yeshua is telling us.

When the pressure is on, when the news is bad, when the bank account runs dry,

when we get denied a promotion, when we get falsely accused and the list goes on

we must not let our hearts be troubled. We need to bring that thing that is troubling

us to YAH. We shouldn’t let our heart be afraid. Declare YAH’s word where there is fear!

You can’t walk in faith if you are in fear.

Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed!

Don’t give fear an inch. Don’t let anxious thoughts have their way in your mind.

Bring all your anxious thoughts to YAH. Don’t hold on to them.

Bring all your concerns to Him. Don’t try and deal with them on your own.

Bring all your fears to Him. If kept, you won’t be able to walk in faith!

And through whatever storm you going through ask YAH for peace!

Bless you friends

The answer to the chaos around us…..

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

peace

“Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath

to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.

Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid

[Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed;

and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated

and cowardly and unsettled.]

John 14:27 (emphasis mine)

It’s a choice to walk in peace.

When things get crazy you have a choice to be at peace or lose

your mind.

The word is very clear about this,

“Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be

afraid.

When things are not going your way do not let your hearts

be troubled.

It’s not easy staying in peace but Jesus wants us to fight for it.

Refuse to succumb to anxious thoughts.

Refuse to panic and fret.

Choose peace.

“Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed;

and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated

and cowardly and unsettled. “

There is so much opportunity to lose our peace today.

Put on the news, read the papers, talk to people and you will

see it as clear as day.

But Jesus goes against the grain. He doesn’t advocate us

succumbing to fear. Instead He tells us to stay in peace.

He encourages us to walk in the peace He has given us.

Today the word is simple, stay in peace no matter what!

When fear, terror, confusion, and anxiety come, stay in peace.

Easier said than done I know.

But we are not alone. The Holy Spirit will help us in our

weaknesses.

The bad news will keep coming but despite being surrounded

by such darkness hold on to peace.

We can’t afford to live without peace.

Peace is found in His word, it’s found in prayer as you

commune with Him.

Let’s choose peace today!

Will things ever get better…?

Will things get better? When will things get better in my

country? When will it turn around for the good?

These are the kind of questions I have been asking myself.

My country is in a very critical position right now.

Corruption has escalated much (but which country hasn’t)

Most businesses are closing. Unemployment has risen…..and,

and, and…….the list continues.

But is that not the story of the world?

The world is not getting brighter, easy to live in,

and so on. On the contrary, it is getting darker,

more evil, more corrupt…

I was waiting for things to get better in my country.

But there is a chance it might not get better but instead

deteriorate even more!

That is when with the help of a friend I realized I am

waiting on the wrong thing. My focus is wrong.

I serve an Almighty, Powerful God. He is not looking at what’s

happening around me to determine if He can bless me.

He is not moved by the darkness, corruption

and the evil in the world. If He wants to bless me He will

regardless of what is happening around me.

Can God provide for me in a desert??  Yes!

Let’s look at a few scriptures:

He split the rocks in the desert and gave them an ocean

of fresh water.

He brought a stream of water out of the rock and made it

flow like a river!

Psalms 78:15, 16 (ERV)

But you would be fed with the finest wheat;

with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.

Psalms 81:16 (NIV)

Think about a rock. It’s one of the hardest substances

on earth. You can’t break it easily. You will get nothing

from it. You can’t rely on it for sustenance but God says:

He will feed you with honey from the ROCK and

make water flow out from it……!

The conclusion is this: God CAN provide for you in the desert!

You can be surrounded by the worst circumstances ever

but God will still make a way for you. Don’t wait for man.

Don’t look to anything except God. There is hope for you.

The world wants you to think you are out of options.

It teaches you to look at what is in your hand and what is

happening around you to decide what you can have. But it’s a

lie……That is not faith!!

I am not waiting for things to get better anymore. I am not

waiting for the economy to get better because God is my

Provider.

I don’t know where you are in life and what you are trusting

God for but know this: there is more!

God wants you to have more. You can pursue your dreams

even if there is nothing in your hands. You can ask the impossible,

pray the unthinkable because God is your God!

He surely is our amazing God!

Will you hold on…???

I had an amazing couple of days this past weekend.

The month of April in my country

marks the end of the first school term so that means holiday

time and holiday camps! And since I serve in our kids ministry

I went for camp with the kids I teach.

This was one of the best camps I have been on. Yes, I was

involved in the planning and organizing of it but I still had fun!

The kids we went with had a blast! As a leader it was a privilege

serving the children.

But what stood out the most for me was how God came and

ministered to me and the other leaders. I have been trusting

God for a lot of things and I have to admit it gets hard. It’s

hard holding on in faith and this weekend my faith was tested.

But in the testing God used the three days I was on

camp to re-adjust my focus.

This is what He spoke to me about:

“Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed Him, for they

were all expecting Him.

Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell

at Jesus feet, pleading with Him to come to his house

because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.

Luke 8:40-55″

We all know the story very well but there are a few things

that I saw that jumped out at me that I would like to point out:

– Jairus came to Jesus because he had faith in Him. He believed

Jesus would heal his daughter. Jairus was desperate! He may

of tried a few doctors but with no luck.

– Jesus stopped walking when the woman with the issue of

blood touched Him. I am sure Jesus knew how desperate and

serious Jairus’s situation was but He still stopped?? How do we

know the woman with the issue of blood had that problem for

twelve years and how do we

know she used all her money on physicians with no change?

We know all this because one of the disciples must of taken

the time to speak to her. He must of spent some time asking

questions or Jesus must of simply listened to a healed ecstatic

woman tell Him how she had spent

all her money on physicians with no results and tell Him how

long this went on for!

Whatever the case, Jairus was waiting! What was on his mind as

all this was happened? Did he push Peter to speak up…?

“When they all denied it, Peter said, Master, the people are

crowding and pressing against you.” Luke 8:45

Where was his faith then?

Did he convince Peter of the absurdity of Jesus question? We

don’t know…..!

Then it happened….!

“While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the

house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. ‘Your daughter is

dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.” Luke 8:49

What exactly was going through Jairus mind? It was faith

and desperation that led him to Jesus but was that faith

still there? Did Jesus take His time with the woman knowing

Jairus was desperate?? Did He want Jairus to endure

in his faith???

Having faith and enduring in your faith are two completely

different things. We do well when we trust God but is that enough?

We must also learn to endure in our faith. That’s the lesson

I learned on camp.

Jairus had faith in Jesus but his faith was tested. He had to

learn to endure in his faith he soon found out.

Don’t lose hope along the way! Jesus has not forgotten your

faith! Jairus may of felt like Jesus didn’t care or had forgotten

him but He didn’t!

“But Jesus, on hearing this, answered him, Do not be seized

with alarm or struck with fear;

Simply believe [in Me as able to do this], and she will be

made well.     Luke 8:50

When Jairus faith was failing, Jesus was right there

to encourage him. Jesus wants us to endure in our faith.

You may be trusting God for something and weeks,

months and years have passed without anything happening

but be assured,

something will happen as long as you endure in your faith!

Don’t give up in your faith. Don’t let fear cloud the truth

about your faith.

The truth is, God will come through!

God has heard you and will not let you down!

He wants to help you more than you will ever know!

Your faith is precious to God!

Your faith pleases Him.

As long as you have faith, the enemy will always lose!

At the end of the day, Jairus got his daughter back. Jesus

did a miracle in his life because he endured in his faith no

matter how bad things seemed!

Jesus knows where you are at. He has not forgotten about

you. He says,

“Simply believe [in Me as able to do this], and she shall be

made well.” Luke 8:50

Believe He is able to help you.

Believe He has heard you because He has.

As I sign off I want to encourage you to endure in your faith.

That is what I was challenged to do on camp!

God bless….
