Does God really have a purpose for you??

such-a-time

This past week I was looking at my life and to be honest I was

discouraged. I couldn’t

believe how much there is still to be done!

My blog’s main focus is about destiny but

that doesn’t mean I got this destiny thing on lock down.

Like you I am walking this road in

total faith. I am discovering things, learning, falling, getting up,

dealing with disappointment,and so on.

The only thing I got is God and His word to guide

me (and that’s more than enough for me)

So there I was discouraged, upset and even fearful! (that

was new….!)

Why fearful? Fearful that I would fail to accomplish everything

God called me to do. I don’t want to die with any

potential left. I want to have used it all up here on earth!

I was fearful I could be wrong. Wrong about the idea of purpose

I have! (what a mess right?!)

Anyway, it was in that state I prayed to God. I called out to Him

to help me.

It was at that time He showed me something

pretty amazing, something I want to share with you about your

life and His purpose for you.

You are not where you are by accident.

It’s not a coincidence you are doing what you are doing at the

moment!

Let me not get ahead of myself.

In Daniel 2 we read about a vision Nebuchadnezzar had. His

vision predicted some very important

events that would take place in the future.

Throughout the book of Daniel we read of more visions. The

visions recorded play an important role in the

future scheme of things.

Was it a coincidence that Daniel was in Babylon when

Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar were having visions??

Daniel himself had visions at that same time. Was it luck Daniel

was born in that timeline?? Off course it wasn’t!!

That was not a coincidence at all. It was planned, it was deliberate.

God created Daniel for that time in history!

Daniel’s gift of interpreting visions was not an accident.

It wasn’t luck that Daniel was in Babylon when the visions started!

It was God!

When it comes to God there is no such thing as “coincidence”.

He is very purposeful when it comes to purpose!

He leaves nothing to chance.

I think about David who was born around the time of Goliath.

Everything would have worked out fine

for the giant if David had not been born but that was not the

case. God had a plan,

“Then the Philistine said, “This day I defy the armies of Israel!

Give me a man and let us fight each other.”

On hearing the Philistine’s words, Saul and all the Israelites were

dismayed and terrified.

1 Samuel 17:10, 11

“David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this

Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”

1 Samuel 17:32

What a contrast! The armies of Saul were dismayed and terrified

but David was fearless and ready to fight!

He was born for that moment. It was not a coincidence or luck that

he was there. Like Daniel,

God had planned it. He was very deliberate.

The last person I will talk about is Esther! We all know her story

very well. She had no father and mother and

was raised by her cousin Mordecai. (Esther 2:7)

Esther had no parents and who knows the challenges she faced

because of that but one thing is clear,

God had a plan for her life. She was not a mistake (even though

she may have thought so).

She would save the Jews from Haman’s evil plot to extinguish the

Jews completely.

“When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back

this answer: Do not think

that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews

will escape. For if you remain

silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise

from another place, but you and your

father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have

come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Esther 4:12-14

I am much better now. I am at peace knowing that I am

exactly where He wants me to be. It may

not make sense but it does to God and that’s all that matters.

God is taking you somewhere friend. He has a plan for your life.

His plan for your life is different to mine but we can agree we are

here for a reason.

It’s not a mistake or luck that you are where you are.

God planned it.

It was very deliberate.

He planned your life to have meaning.

Don’t let anyone tell you that there is nothing in store for you!

According to scripture that is just not true!

The one thing Daniel, David Esther had in common was their faith

in God!

They trusted Him and loved Him.

Their lives were very different but you could see their faith!

Trust the Lord to guide and lead you in the plan He has for you.

He will not leave you stranded.

With Him your future is certain, with God your purpose will be

accomplished!

Bless you friends

Do we really understand His faithfulness??

image

“For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are

everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all

generations. “

Psalm 101:5

“His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations”

This verse has been on my heart this week. The Lord is so

faithful. This past week has been interesting because I have

been reminded about the things I am trusting God for. Those

things haven’t come to pass as yet. Nothing seems to be

happening. I have asked God the “why” question and the

“when” question and as I have done that the scripture I shared

has been bubbling in my spirit. Even in the “hard to understand

times” God is faithful!

“His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations”

It may “seem” like nothing is happening at the moment but

the Lord is faithful! He really is….

The word says “His faithfulness and truth endure to ALL

generations!”

God was faithful to Abraham when He told him to

leave his home to go to a place he didn’t know.

“The Lord had said to Abraham, “Leave your native country,

your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land

that I will show you.”

Genesis 12:1

A hundred and one things could of gone wrong for Abraham.

Leaving what you know to go to a place you have

never seen and never heard of is crazy right.

But Abraham obeyed and went and God’s faithfulness protected

him as he went. God blessed Abraham, protected him and

directed his every step. Abraham had favor where he went.

That was God’s faithfulness operating in his life.

The Lord was faithful to Adam and Eve when they ate of the

tree that God told them not to eat. They were doomed when they

ate the fruit. The enemy had won if it wasn’t for God’s

faithfulness to Adam and Eve! (Genesis 3)

Without God’s faithfulness we would be doomed.

“His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations”

Generations later we see God’s faithfulness in the life of Hannah.

She was barren and because of that she was constantly

ridiculed by Peninnah. It seemed like Peninnah would be

victorious. It seemed like her negative words would ring

true in Hannah’s life.

“So Peninnah would taunt Hannah and make fun of her because

the Lord had kept her from having children.

Year after year it was the same – Peninnah would taunt Hannah

as they went to the tabernacle.

Each time, Hannah would be reduced to tears and would not

even eat.”

1 Samuel 1:6, 7

But God was faithful to Hannah! He answered her prayer and

granted her heart’s desire by giving her a child, Samuel!

Year after year it seemed like nothing was happening for

Hannah. There was no relief from the taunting. But God is

faithful and even in that dark time God’s faithfulness prevailed.

Because of God’s faithfulness Hannah had a child and

a testimony! (1 Samuel 2)

“And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from

God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home

is now among His people! He will live with them, and they will be

His people. God Himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear

from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or

crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

Revelation 21:2-4

God’s faithfulness is everlasting. Even in the end of time we see

His faithfulness!

Throughout scripture we see God’s faithfulness. Generation after

generation we see His faithfulness at work. His faithfulness

was at work then and it’s at work now. I know things don’t

seem to be happening right now but God is faithful.

Last month I went on tour to Zambia and I was involved in

a very serious car accident. I was supposed to be dead. At the very

least I was supposed to be seriously injured but because of

God’s faithfulness I escaped unscathed.

When my country came to a standstill in 2008 with no food

in the country and our dollar crashing it was God’s faithfulness

that kept me. When I didn’t know where the next meal would

come from God was faithful. So no matter what is happening

or not happening at the moment I know God is faithful!

Why I am sharing this with you? I am sharing this with you

because no matter what you going through know that God

is faithful. Troubles will come in their droves but

God is faithful and He will deliver you from them all!

He was faithful yesterday, He is faithful today and He

will still be faithful tomorrow!

His faithfulness will outlive us all!!

Because He is faithful your darkness will turn to light.

Because He is faithful everything will turn out alright.

The enemy will not win over you because of God’s faithfulness!

You will have a testimony because of His faithfulness.

Because of His faithfulness your posterity is blessed!

It will take all of eternity

to write of God’s faithfulness so as I close my hope is that you

will get a revelation of God’s faithfulness in your life.

I hope the very few stories I have

shared will encourage you to rely on His faithfulness in your hard

times. In the dark know He is faithful.

His faithfulness might not manifest itself in the way we expect and

the time we expect but know this, He is faithful!  That truth is

irrefutable! Have a blessed day friends…….

God’s plan for you in the fire….!!!

Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that Daniel should be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no hurt of any kind was found on him because he believed in (relied on, adhered to, and trusted in) his God. Daniel 6:23

In this season this scripture has ministered to me deeply. What do we do when we find ourselves in the fire and the lion’s den? Because the truth of the matter is, everyone will face the fire everyone will face the lion’s den! No one is exempt! And this proves true for the Christian. Just because you follow Christ does not exempt you from the fire or the lion’s den!

I had my accident but I just found out one of my friends is in hospital because a car bumped into his car!

Another friend of mine has got cancer!

Another friend is unsure about what the future has in store for them and so on and so on…

Pain, heartache, death, disappointment, rejection, and a host of other things are some of the things we have to deal with in this life. But what do we do when we are in the fire, what do we do when we are in the lion’s den??

When I read the story of Daniel in the lion’s den there were a few things that stood out:

Daniel had a relationship with the King who at the time was the most powerful man in the world but even he couldn’t help him! He could not reverse the law he had put in place.

“You should stop trusting in people to save you, because people are only human; they aren’t able to help you.”  Isaiah 2:22 NCV

From the story we see the king had tried everything to help Daniel! But with all his power and authority he was not able to deliver him! I am not saying don’t look to people for help. When the fire comes we need the support of people. I could not have got through the trauma I faced without the encouragement and support of people (To read about the accident I was in click here) the issue comes when you rely on people to save you instead of God! He is the only one who can deliver you from the fire and the lion’s den! Man can only do so much but if you think they are the answer then you have missed it.

The king who was the most powerful man in the world at the time was powerless to save Daniel but God wasn’t! God wants you to know He is the only One who can save you from the fire! He is the only One who can deliver you from the lion’s den. No one else is qualified to take God place so don’t put that kind of expectation on people!

“So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no hurt of any kind was found on him because he believed in (relied on, adhered to, and trusted in) his God.”

Daniel was not hurt in anyway because he trusted in God! Your trust in God will deliver you from the lion’s den and the fire. That is the ONLY thing that will deliver you!

It doesn’t say his trust in man delivered him from the lion’s den but his trust in God! I want you to get this. When you are in the fire you need to look to God. When you are in the lion’s den cry out to God! He will deliver you. Let us learn from Daniel. I have seen this truth in action! It’s God that has kept me from falling. As I looked to Him, He has put His hand on me. I am at peace because I have decided to trust Him completely.

When I fear I feel His love,

When I open my bible I see him so clearly,

When I spend time with Him, I feel His tangible presence,

When I worship, I feel His hand on me,

I hear His voice in the music I listen to (worship music mostly) and the people who encourage and support me!

That’s what happened to me when I trusted Him in the fire, in the lion’s den!

“My God has sent His angel and has shut the lion’s mouth so that they have not hurt me,” Daniel 6:22

God was with Daniel in the lion’s den and like Daniel He is with you! His angels are with you. You are not alone in the fire and in the lion’s den!  So praise Him, draw close to Him!

A note to the busy…….

Do you hear Lady Wisdom calling?

Can you hear Madame Insight raising her voice?

She’s taken her stand at First and Main,

at the busiest intersection.

Right in the city square

where the traffic is the thickest, she shouts,  Proverbs 8:1-3

This is a very interesting scripture. Interesting not because she makes a call but where she makes the call. She could of gone to any place and made the call to anyone but the scripture says,

“She has taken her stand at First and Main,

at the busiest intersection.

Right in the city square

where the traffic is the thickest, she shouts,

It’s so busy that she has to raise her voice. She actually has to shout to get the people’s attention! That got me to think. What were the people doing that she had to shout??? Were they really that busy? I started bringing up possible scenarios……

– A man had to get to the other part of town so he could deliver a package and get paid.

– A mom had to take her kids to school and was running late

– A young man had to meet someone who would fund his business

– A parent had to  rush to the hospital because his child was involved in an accident

– A family had to rush to the airport or they would miss their flight

and so on and so on………… Whatever the reason is for the busyness, they forgot about wisdom because she had to make the call. If they were operating in wisdom in their busyness wisdom would of kept silent but that was not the case.

Doesn’t that describe the kind of world we live in today? Everyone is just so busy today. Too busy to form real relationships. Too busy to stop and care for someone. Too busy to love. Too busy to stop and take time with their children. Too busy to stop and look at their lives and make changes. Too busy to stop and reflect.

Stop! Take some time to listen, someone pretty important is calling. And she is calling you! Will you heed her call or are you just too busy? It’s not wrong to be busy but when that busyness stops you from listening to the voice of wisdom then you have a problem. That is my challenge!

The “Gifts” God gives us…..!

I don’t know where to start and I don’t know how to begin this post. All I can say is that the word “gift” has

taken a whole new meaning for me. A few months ago I found out my friend, was leaving the country for good! We were first friends, then he became my boss, then pastor, then mentor, then family!

My world turned upside down that day. I had people leave before and it was painful but this, this was a whole new level.

My pastor’s wife called me and sat me down as she told me the news. I was devastated and confused. Why God I asked?

This can’t be happening I thought. I had known my mentor’s family for over 10 years! I knew them when they

had their first son. They have four boys now and I love them to bits.  Anyway I remember going to God and

crying out to Him for answers to the question why. Nothing came. Instead revelation came……

God showed me how they were gifts from Him. I met my mentor when I had just met The Lord. I am a sinner

now but back then I was much worse. If there is a word worse than sinner I was it. I was truly lost. I had no

direction and no plan. I had crazy issues I was beginning to work out. I had just became a Christian and this new

life was still…..new! I was dealing with a lot of things. I had no confidence and I had no self esteem. When he

employed me a year after meeting him I stole money from him! It was that bad. I WAS that bad! But thank God he never fired me or called the police. He gave me a second chance…….

I didn’t trust anyone back then and when he tried to help me out I would think he had some evil intension! When he disciplined me at work I would take it personally. When he made a joke about me I would get extremely angry. My stuttering was so bad back then which didn’t really help things! So believe me when I say, things were bad back then, really bad!!!

But God used him and his wife to mold me into who God wanted me to be. They taught me so much. They stood by

me when I had family issues. They helped me out financially countless times. They sat down and taught me so much

about God and life. In one of the darkest times in my life they were there.

God showed me how that was not an accident.

He knew all the change that needed to happen in me. He saw all I was going through and because of that He sent them

into my life. They were gifts. We serve a God who is the giver of gifts but the mistake we make is thinking gifts come in the form of money only. That’s not true. God’s gifts are so much more than money. They are deeper than that. During that time I never thought of them as gifts. We had our good times together and we had hard and difficult times.

The fact of the matter is this. God sent me gifts in the form of my mentor and his family. I just didn’t know it at the time and I never gave them the honor they rightly deserved. I wish I never took them for granted. I wish I honored them more and thanked them more for all they had done for me. I can’t put into words all that they did for me. A lot of who I am is because of their input in my life.

They saw so much potential in me and stood by me patiently. They are my family. I am telling you all this because….

…….they left on Wednesday this week! It’s been a hard week I must admit. They had my back. But in the midst of the pain God showed me how He will bring other “gifts” into my life after all; those “gifts” came from Him. He is the giver of all gifts. My mentor and his family never willed or planned to do all they did for me. God was behind it all. My mentor never knew the kind of impact he would have in my life but God did because He planned it. God was behind it all……

Yes, I am sad and broken at them leaving but I am also at peace because God has some amazing “gifts” in store for me.

I pray I be a “gift” to someone else as well. Would God use me to be the kind of “gift” my mentor was to me……

Have you acknowledged the “gifts” God has put in your life? There is a reason He has placed them in your life.

Don’t take them for granted. Thank them for all they are doing for you. It is not easy for them. There is always a

sacrifice on their part. May we always appreciate the “gifts” God has given us, always!

The “Accident” & “Community”!

It has been a crazy week for me. I was involved in a car accident and I wish I could say it wasn’t my fault but it was. I never gave way at an unmanned intersection and crashed into a car. It was the first accident I have ever been involved in. I am ok now but I was pretty shaken up yesterday. I was in shock I guess. Anyway we had to go and collect the policeman and bring him back to the scene where he could record the incident. As all this was going on I was telling all my friends what had happened. I was really overwhelmed by the support I got. People called and messaged me asking how I was. It really blessed me. And that got me thinking about community.

Community is very important. We cannot underestimate the importance of community. We are not an island. God has put people around us to complete us. In actual fact, we are all a community! We are designed with the ability to be a community. It is in a community that we get nourished. God wants you to reach your maximum potential and it is in the setting of community that you do that. Please note, I am talking about a community that has your best interests at heart, a community you can trust, one that loves you. We need community and I seen the power of it yesterday and even today.

Let me finish my story. So yesterday I was told I was supposed to go to court for not giving way! I really didn’t want to go to court. I have never been to court and I was not keen on going. I was scheduled to go to court today at 8:00am but as I was about to get processed for court the policeman changed his mind and just fined me which he was supposed to do in the first place! I believe it was because of the people who were praying for me. Yes I prayed but there was power in what the community was declaring as well!!!

I thank God for the people He has brought into my life. You are all truly a blessing and I am writing this post to honour you all. Your value in my life cannot be measured and I am truly blessed to have you in my life.

My prayer is that you don’t take the people around you for granted. They are in your life to be a blessing.
