You Are Not A Mistake!

You are not a mistake.

God was very intentional when He made you. You have a reason on this earth.

You are not an accident and you are not junk.

You may be in a place where you don’t see purpose to your life and you feel like you are going aimlessly but

I want to remind you that God loves you. He created you and called you son/daughter.

Don’t listen to the voices that say you are a nobody or that say you are junk.

I love how Psalm 139: 14

“I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex!

Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking.

It simply amazes me to think about it!

How thoroughly you know me, Lord!

You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place;”

So as I come to the end of this post remember that you are not a mistake.

You are a masterpiece.

Bless you friends

The Answer to Fear

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

Psalm 56:3

There are a million reasons to be fearful today. Global pandemics, war, sickness, starvation, debt and so many other things can easily thrust anyone in a state of panic and fear. But amidst the fear there is a way through for you and me. In Psalm 56:3 the writer states,

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

The answer to fear is trust in Jesus. He defeated fear a long time ago and because of that we have somewhere to look to when fear is banging on the door of our hearts and minds threating to take permanent residence. When we are paralyzed by all the terror filled news around us, we have Someone to run to and take shelter. The Lord is our Strong Tower of Refuge. He is a trillion times a trillion stronger than fear. Fear is a defeated foe.

But fear wants us to believe it is stronger. It wants us to forget that God is on our side. It wants us to forget God in the midst of the chaos but we must not give in to fear because the Lord is with us through the darkest of times.

The answer to fear is looking to Jesus and knowing beyond a doubt that He is with you.

As I end this post I came across a painting of Daniel that encouraged me so much. I hope it encourages you like it did me.

Bless you friends.

When You Can’t See A Way…

There will be times when you are met with dead ends, closed doors and walls but you need to remember this simple truth,

God makes a way when there seems to be no way.

Think about the Israelites when they left Egypt. They got to the Red Sea and were resting there when suddenly they saw the Egyptian army marching towards them. In front of them was the Red Sea and behind them were the Egyptians. They were trapped. But God made a way for them through the Red Sea. They experienced breakthrough in the most unexpected way.

You may be in a tough situation and it seems like you are trapped with no way out but I want to remind you that there is a way even if you can’t see one because God is with you. He will make a way for you in the most unexpected way.

Before I move on I do want to make something clear. There are some dead ends and closed doors that are God-ordained and you need to be able to discern them. You need to ask God for wisdom and you need to ask Him if He has closed a particular door but that’s not what I am talking about in this post.

What I want to encourage you with today is that God will open closed doors and dead ends that are stopping you from moving forward in His purpose. He will make a way for you where the enemy has barricaded.

Don’t give up and lose heart when there seems to be now way instead trust God to make a way for you.

Bless you friends.

Surrounded…

There are times when it feels like the enemy has us surrounded and is going to finish off the job.

Times when it seems like we are about to be overrun and left for dead.

But in those times there is hope for us.

I was encouraged as I read the Word a few days ago.

The king of Aram wanted to get rid of Elisha so he found out where he was and at night had the place

where he was surrounded. In the morning Elisha’s servant saw the army surrounding the city and he

freaked out. He went to Elisha to tells him the “bad news” but Elisha was as cool as a cucumber.

This is what Elisha said to him,

“Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

2 Kings 6:17

But Elisha went further. He prayed that his servant’s eyes be opened and after the prayer the servant saw the

hills filled with a great and mighty heavenly host outnumbering the enemy.

And that is what I want to encourage you with. Just like the servant saw, there are more with you than they

that are against you. It doesn’t matter how many enemies come against you, the fact and truth remains.

Let go of the fear and trust the Lord. He is fighting for you and is stronger and far greater than any enemy

that threatens you.

“Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise up against me,

in this will I be confident.”

Psalm 27:3

God bless you friends and have a great weekend

The Enemy’s Plan For You, Will Be Defeated.

What happens to the enemy’s plans for us?

Because truth be told, he has plans to take us out.

He doesn’t want us to succeed but there is good news for us in the Word of God.

The bible has the real truth. The enemy’s plans will not succeed over us.

Take David for instance. He had to flee from Absalom for a season and to make matters worse

his counselor Ahithophel had sided with Absalom which was really bad news for David.

Ahithophel was David’s trusted advisor. He was wise and knew David really well, the way

he worked, his family, how he thought and so much more. He was not the guy to go up

against.

Anyway, he had a plan to eliminate David and went to Absalom to tell him his plan.

Everyone loved his plan but before it could be green lit they called Hushai (another of David’s

counsellors) to hear what his plan would be. Earlier on in the story, David sent him back

in the hope to overthrow the counsel of Ahithophel.

So when they called Hushai they asked him what his plan would be and they loved his plan.

They thought it was better than Ahithophel’s plan. So they decided to go with his plan.

And this is the lesson I want to get across.

Ahithophel’s plan to eliminate David was better than Hushai’s. The word tells us so.

“Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “Hushai’s advice is better than Ahithophel’s.

For the Lord had determined to defeat the counsel of Ahithophel, which really was the better

plan, so that he could bring disaster on Absalom!”

2 Samuel 17:14, 15

So if Absalom and his men had listened to Ahithophel’s counsel they would have managed to

destroy David and his men BUT….

Because God was with David, He overthrew the counsel of Ahithophel. David would not be eliminated

by the enemy’s plan because God was watching over him and protecting him.

And like David, God will frustrate and stop the enemy’s plan for you. His plans will not succeed

over you.

No weapon formed against you will prosper the word tells us.

So don’t fear when the enemy rises against you to destroy you. The Lord will never allow the enemy

to be victorious over you and that is good news!

So trust God no matter how intense the battle gets because He is protecting you and watching over you.

No plan of the enemy will succeed over you.

Blessings to you.

How To Talk To “Giants”

How do you speak to the giants that come against you?

As I read the Bible this week there was a story that made me think about that.

There is a way we are meant to speak to giants. We are not supposed to

cower away in fear or terror because God is our Protector.

He is so much stronger than the giants we face

I was reading the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:45-47 and there

were a few things that stuck out to me that I would like to share about how we

should speak to giants.

  • David didn’t talk to Goliath about his strength. He spoke about God’s strength and power.
  • David knew the battle wasn’t his but the Lord’s. He knew that the God who delivered him from lion and the bear would deliver him from Goliath.
  • David never negotiated or pleaded with Goliath. He TOLD him what was going to happen to him.
  • Because David had faith in God, he knew he was going to win.

We don’t have to let giants determine what happens to us.

Our faith in God will make us see giants differently and will make us talk differently because that’s what

happened to David. He didn’t run away in terror when he saw Goliath, he defeated him and told him

he was going to kill him.

Keep trusting the Lord and don’t let go. Let your faith be the driving force behind the words and actions

you speak and take against the giants that come against you.

And before I go I have some exciting news.

When The Battle Seems Lost, You Have Help.

“Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shem,

and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord

helped us.”

1 Samuel 7:12

The Philistines came against Israel to wipe them out. They were strong

and powerful. It seemed like Israel had no chance but Samuel prayed

to the Lord for help and his prayer was heard.

He fought for Israel and won against the Philistines.

The Lord is your Stone of help. When it seems like the enemy is winning,

remember that you have help, God’s help. Call on Him in your time of

trouble. Don’t fear or lose hope. You have victory because God is your Helper!

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

No Matter How Bad Things Get, God Is With You.

I was having one of “those days” a few days ago.

You know, those days your faith is low and things don’t seem to be

happening. My prayers didn’t seem to be getting answered and for a

little bit, I thought God didn’t care. I actually thought He was ignoring me!

But later that day, the answer to my prayer came and God proved once again,

He can be trusted. I don’t like it when I doubt God and when I do it makes me

wonder. But I guess that’s part of the downside of being human. We are not

perfect and we make mistakes and that’s why we need a Savior, Jesus.

As I journaled the events of the day I penned these words, which are the title

of this blog post,

“No matter how bad things get, God is with me”

And it’s true. You may be having a bad day but I want to encourage you with this

truth. In the bible we see this truth in action.

In Luke 7:12-16 we see Jesus arriving to a city called Nain and there is a funeral procession

happening. A woman has lost her only son and she is going to bury him. Things are

really bad for her but at that moment, she meets Jesus. I don’t believe it was an accident

Jesus being there. I believe He went there FOR her. He wanted to help her at her lowest point.

And He did just that. He raised her son from the dead and gave him back to her.

When things were at their worst for the woman, Jesus stepped in and turned things

around for her.

So even when your hope and faith fail, remember, Jesus doesn’t fail.

He knows what you are going through and there is no problem you go through, that

God doesn’t see. Trust in Him no matter what happens.

Bless you friends!

There Is Still Hope.

I was on YouTube this week and came across a song. I was so encouraged by the message.

It talked about not letting go of hope and encouraged us to keep our faith in God. That’s

what I got from listening to it anyway and that is what motivated this post.

I want to remind you to keep hoping in God. No matter how difficult things get, God is

with you. There is a story that comes to mind that I would like to share.

In the first book of Kings in chapter seventeen verse ten we are introduced to a widow at Zarapheth.

She is gathering sticks to make her last meal so she and her son can eat and die. Pretty grim right.

Things are really bad for her. But Elijah the prophet comes along and asks the woman to get him

some water. As she goes to get the water, he tells her to also give him some food to eat.

She tells Elijah that she has been preparing the last meal so that her son and her would eat then die.

But Elijah tells her to give him something to eat because, God would provide for her until the rains

came down since they were in a famine.

So the woman does what Elijah says and God provides for the woman and her family for many days.

The woman was in a desperate situation but God stepped in and saved her.

With God we have hope, no matter bad the situation is.

Don’t lose heart and don’t let go of hope.

The Lord is with you and will save you from every trouble

that comes your way. And that’s my encouragement to you friends.

Blessings to you.

And here is the song I listened to:

Rolain

Patiently endure.

God will accomplish and bring to pass what He has promised but in the meantime we

need to patiently endure.

As the Israelites travelled through the desert, the Lord promised them a land flowing

with milk and honey. He would stay true to what He promised them and get them there

but they needed to be patient and they needed to endure but that didn’t happen. Let’s

read what happened to them;

“And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of

Edom, and the people became impatient (depressed, much discouraged) because [of the trials]

of the way.

Numbers 21:3, 4

And as we know they failed to possess the Promise Land because they doubted the Lord. They didn’t

hold on to His promises when things were hard and disqualified themselves. Waiting on God’s

promises takes courage.

If you are in that space of feeling overwhelmed, depressed and discouraged then I want to urge you

to keep holding onto faith. The Lord is Faithful and True and will not let you down.

“So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always

keeps His promises.”

Hebrews 10:23 TPT

God ALWAYS keeps His promises.

As I close I want to encourage you to never give up. The Lord cares about you and the things that

are on your heart. Bring Him your worries and concerns consistently.

And be courageous and patiently endure with the understanding that He always keeps His promises

to you.

“This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep His commands

and remain faithful to Jesus.”

Revelation 14:12

Blessings to you friends
