He didn’t condemn her…

“This they said to try (test) Him, hoping they might find a charge on which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger. However, when they persisted with their question, He raised Himself up and said, Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

‭‭John‬ ‭8:6-7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Jesus was the only One without sin in that group. He could have thrown the first stone and be totally justified but He didn’t.

He didn’t condemn the woman but in the eyes of the people she was. Instead of condemnation He extended grace to her.

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You don’t have to go on living with condemnation. Get rid of condemning thoughts at all costs. Jesus doesn’t condemn you so why let other people condemn you?

Condemnation from people is tough but self condemnation is just as bad if not worse.

Stop passing sentence on your self because of the mistakes you have made. Jesus forgave you, so you can forgive yourself.

Instead of condemnation, the Lord has extended grace to you. Take it.

The enemy condemns. He wants to see you depressed and ashamed. He wants to see you buried in guilt, unable to look yourself in the mirror.

He is the accuser and wants you buried.

“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.

Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.””

‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3:1, 3-4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Approach the throne of grace with your condemnation and lay it at Jesus’ feet. Let Him replace it with love and grace.

He wants to free you of condemnation. Today is the day of deliverance.

Plans gone wrong!

“Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “Hushai’s advice is better than Ahithophel’s.” For the Lord had determined to defeat the counsel of Ahithophel, which really was the better plan, so that he could bring disaster on Absalom!”

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭17:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Ahitophel’s advice could have ended David’s life if it was followed but God stepped in and delivered him by frustrating Ahitophel’s counsel and plan.

The enemy is always planning against you but his plans will come to nothing. They will not come to fruition because the Lord is protecting you. Like He did for David the Lord is stepping in and frustrating the enemy’s plans.

Remember Haman who had plans to eliminate the Jewish people. (Read the book of Esther)

It seemed like his plans were rock solid but God stepped in again and frustrated them.

“Then Harbona, one of the king’s eunuchs, said, “Haman has set up a sharpened pole that stands seventy-five feet tall in his own courtyard. He intended to use it to impale Mordecai, the man who saved the king from assassination.” “Then impale Haman on it!” the king ordered. So they impaled Haman on the pole he had set up for Mordecai, and the king’s anger subsided.”

‭‭Esther‬ ‭7:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The truth is this: No weapon formed against you will prosper.

Don’t be afraid of the plans the enemy has against you and the weapons he creates to take you out because the Lord will guard you and make sure you are safe. The only plans that are coming to reality are the ones the Lord has made.

I pray and declare that all His good plans over your life come to pass. There is no plan that the enemy has created that is strong enough to succeed over you.

So don’t lose heart. The Lord will be your Shield wherever you go!

Bless you friends!

What we can hold on to when things get hard…

David was in serious trouble. Saul was tracking him down and to make matters worse, Achish recognized him (1 Samuel 10:21-23). He had no army at the time to fight so his back was against the wall. But in the midst of all those hopeless odds the Lord delivered him.

Achish let David go because he thought he was mad and Saul never managed to capture him. How David managed to survive all that is found in Psalm 34. I want to zone in on a few key scriptures;

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”

Psalm 34:6

“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles.”

Psalm 34:17

David called to God and He heard his cry and saved him out of all his troubles. That’s a truth we can hold on to through the most difficult of times.

We see this pattern and truth throughout the word.

“With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause and calmly think of that]”

Psalm 3:4

When you call the Lord will hear and answer you. Let your voice be heard when trouble comes. Lift up your voice to the Lord.

He wants to fight for you and He wants to help you through every trouble you face. The Lord will carry you through the storm like He did for David.

Look ahead with confidence

“The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.””

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17:37‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As David faced Goliath his confidence was in the God who had delivered him from the lion and the bear.

David knew Goliath had no chance against him because of what God had done before.

As you look ahead it’s important to remember what the Lord has done for you. As He brought you through last year with all its challenges and trials He will bring you through this year.

You can look ahead with confidence because the Lord who rescued and delivered you from the trials and challenges last year will do it again and again. He never let David down. He didn’t let the giant be victorious over him.

And it’s the same with you. He won’t let you down. He will deliver you and rescue you from the enemy who is standing against you. You can trust the Lord always!

Don’t give up.

Perseverance outlasts persecution

This is one of my pastor’s favorite sayings. But it’s more than a saying. It’s a kingdom principle. That’s what he taught me and it’s true.

When Jesus came to earth He persevered. He didn’t give up or throw in the towel when things got intense. No, He pushed on towards His goal and He achieved it.

Don’t throw in the towel in this season. Keep looking at the prize. Keep persevering and know as you do,  the door will open, the breakthrough will come the prayer will  be answered. The Lord will carry you through. He can be trusted.

But you need to keep moving forward no matter how hard it is. Keep taking that step then another then another.

As I wrote this today I was reminded of a video that perfectly illustrates perseverance.

Here is the link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V38QYllfYtM&t=36s

I came across it as I was preparing to teach some kids. Even though it is for kids I really enjoyed it and I think you will too. It has no sound but the message gets  across and if you have kids you can show it to them too🙂
