Between Anointment and Appointment – Part 1

JUST NOT THERE YET Do you have a dream in your heart, a calling on your life, or an aspiration for your future? Are you there yet? If you answered yes to the first…
What the past teaches.
The past has not been easy. It’s been difficult and at the time it was hard to make sense of all that was
happening. But the past as difficult as it was revealed an important truth, a truth that helped me face
the storms and trials of today.
As crazy as the past has been I am still here. When I was going through it all with no idea of how things were
going to turn out God carried me through it. No matter how dark things got God always carried
me through and continues to.
The lesson is this; If God could deliver me back then, He will do it again today.
Learn a lesson from the past. The Lord will be there for you as He was back then. Whatever storm you in
now, know that God will deliver you like He did before. Look at all the things He has brought you through
and be at peace knowing He will do it again and again.
Sometimes we go through some really intense times and think this is the time when our luck runs out but
listen to me, it won’t happen. God will never let you down no matter how many times the enemy tries to
destroy you. he won’t win. And that’s the lesson the past teaches.
God will always be victorious. He will always bring you through the darkness.
Bless you, friends.

In the face of overwhelming odds……
“And the Philistines gathered to fight with Israel, 30 000 chariots and 6000 horsemen and troops like sand
on the seashore in multitude.”
1 Samuel 13:5
Saul and his army were in serious trouble. The enemy outnumbered them 1000 to 1 (it could have been more).
The enemy had cornered them with no way of escape, they were trapped!
As I read this story I think about the battles, the trials, and the storms we face. They vary right?
Some are not as devastating, then there are some that have the potential to rip your world apart.
But whatever the case storms are difficult. They test us, they rock us to the core. They show us who we
really are and where our faith and focus are.
Saul and Jonathan were in real danger. To add to the fact that the army they were facing outnumbered
them 1000 to 1, they had no weapons! (read 1 Samuel 13:19-22)
The only people with weapons were Saul and Jonathan. It’s crazy to think they had 2 swords
between them! How big was Saul’s army? He had a 600 strong army (read 1 Samuel 13:15)
So as you can see, their chances looked grim. But this is where the story gets interesting because against such
overwhelming odds something amazing happened. What happened is a lesson, a strategy for us to use as we
face the terrifying storms, the trials, and the challenges.
Let’s take a look at what happened;
“One day Jonathan son of Saul said to his armor bearer, “come let us go over to the Philistine garrison
on the other side.” But he did not tell his father.”
1 Samuel 14: 1
So to backtrack a bit, the only people with swords were Saul and Jonathan but Jonathan decided to go over
to the Philistine garrison without telling his father which meant he had one sword.
With one sword Jonathan would face an entire garrison! Had he lost his mind???
Look at what he told his armor-bearer;
“Jonathan said to his officer who carried his armor, “Come.
Let’s go to the camp of those men who are not circumcised. Maybe the Lord will help us. It doesn’t matter
if we have many people, or just a few.
Nothing can keep the Lord from giving us victory.”
1 Samuel 14:6
Jonathan was brave but his dependence was on God. That’s why he was so confident, so sure.
His faith wasn’t in his ability with a sword. His faith was in a God who was stronger than any enemy
he would ever face. And it wasn’t his sword that delivered him. It was his faith in God. That made all the difference.
And that’s how powerful faith in God is.
What situation are you facing today? What kind of storm are you in? Is your faith in God or are you focused
on something else??
It’s not the people you know, your intelligence, where you work,
how much you serve in your church that will get you through the storm.
It’s faith through and through. Faith really does move mountains.
Faith in God is not a lost cause.
There are times when it seems like God is silent and taking matters into our hands seems like the next
best thing but it isn’t. Give God room to move. Put all of your faith in Him and see the things He will do.
God knows everything. There is not a single thing that gets past Him.
In your darkest season trust Him. It’s your faith in God that makes all the difference.
Bless you, friends.

Why you need to be excited about your life even when nothing seems to be happening for you………
Is there a reason to be excited about your life?
That’s the question I have been meditating on for the past couple of days. My country has been
going through a tough couple of weeks and it has been hard to see a future when things look so dark.
But the darkness is not only in Zimbabwe, it’s all over the world. And the darkness wants to get us
off our game. It wants us so discouraged that we lose hope. But we need to keep trusting no matter
the darkness.
But it’s not just the tough times in my country that made me think about “what my life could be”
As I looked at my weaknesses, the things I am supposed to be doing that I am not doing, and
flaws that are too many to mention I got discouraged. I have messed up so much. I have blind spots
that I am relying on God to expose. With all those things against me I found myself asking,
Can I really be excited about my life with all the flaws that I have?
That kind of question demands an answer and an answer is what I got.
I do have a reason to be excited about my life because God is in it.
Not only is He in it but He created it. He is the author of my story. I have every reason to be
excited about my life. I need to pump myself up, raise the expectation, because He is in control.
He has crazy things in store for me. His word says,
“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this.
He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream,
and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power
constantly energized you.”
Ephesians 3:20, 21
You may think there is nothing to get excited about in your life but that’s not true. Because God
is at the helm you can expect an amazing life even though things may be hard now.
Nothing may be working for you at the moment but remember this,
Winters end!
Keep trusting God. Hold on to His promises. Expect Him to move on your behalf and yes,
You have a reason to be excited about your life….. because He is in it.
Blessings to you friends.

Let faith lead you and not doubt, anxiety and fear.
“The just shall live by faith.”
Galatians 3:11
I was challenged a few days ago as I thought about this scripture and what it meant for me.
It’s not talking about having faith occasionally and it’s not talking about faith as an event.
Instead this verse talks about faith as a lifestyle, as the driving force behind everything we
do.
As I live my life there needs to be an expectation that God sees and is working things out
for my good. I need to believe He is faithful to what He promised and even though
things are hard, He will deliver me and that my best days are yet to come.
I am not where I am by accident, so there needs to be a conviction that God has led me here
and He is directing my every step. The things that are happening in my life are not a coincidence.
The things I am believing for will come to pass. He has a purpose and plan for the gifts and talents
He has given me. I was not an after thought when He made me so there is so much more in store.
That’s what it means to live by faith and that’s what I feel I was challenged about as I read that
verse.
When things don’t go the way we want or we encounter difficult times that’s when
it becomes harder to hold on to faith, to live by faith. The difficult things we face can distort our
vision. We can lose sight of how great God is and instead of living by faith the doubts, fear, and anxiety
lead us. Instead of faith we become discouraged and hopeless. We lose sight of the big picture and
go into survival mode. But that’s not the way God wants us to live.
The just shall live by faith.
In everything, He wants us to trust Him. In sickness, He wants us to trust Him for healing, in financial
turmoil He wants us to trust He will provide, in economic hardship He wants us to hold on to the truth
that He is our provider. When the door is closed He wants us to believe He can open the door.
When faced with a dark and grim life, He wants us to believe He has a future and an expected end
for us, that our lives will get better.
Don’t fall into the trap of getting by. As you work, or go to school have faith. He wants you to believe.
Because the truth of the matter is this;
The Lord is working on your behalf
The Lord is directing your every step
He is your Shepherd so you won’t lack
You were created for a purpose
Your life has meaning and relevance so even though it doesn’t feel that way, He is busy making sure
everything He planned and promised for you comes to pass!
Be expectant. Don’t take your life for granted. Don’t give up hope.
The Lord is in control and that’s all that matters.
Live by faith!
Blessings to you friends.

The sisters believed and saw God’s glory…..
“Then Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God.”
John 11:40
Mary and Martha thought Yeshua would heal their brother but He never got to them in time. Lazarus
died and by the time He got there Lazarus had been dead for four days.
How hard that must have been for the sisters. They had put their hope in the Lord but He never
showed up in time. Lazarus had died end of story. Yeshua would have to pay his condolences
when He came but that’s not what happened. When He arrived, He challenged them in their faith.
The story was far from over.
“Then Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?
The glory of God Yeshua was speaking about was answer to prayer, breakthrough, Lazarus being
raised from the dead.
But the sisters needed to keep believing if they were to see the glory of God!
That spoke to me this week. If I am to see the glory of God in my life I need to keep believing.
What does the manifestation of God’s glory look like in your life today?
Is it healing, restored relationships, breakthrough of finances……
The sisters had put their faith in God. It was hard seeing their brother’s health fade away.
Where was the Lord? Had He forgotten about them? Did He love them as much as they thought?
(the bible tells us they had a close relationship)
But in a moment of time it seemed like their faith in God was misplaced. “He couldn’t even come on
time.
But the Lord as we know had not forgotten. He loved this family and would do something amazing
for them.
He would bring Lazarus back from the dead and that is why He challenged them to keep believing.
We need to keep believing friends. As you put your hope in God you WILL see the glory of God
manifest in your life. That’s the message today.
The glory of God will be manifested in your life so keep believing. The Lord is faithful and won’t
back down on His promises. Even when it’s difficult believe and see His glory!
Bless you friends
