Be strong and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for and hope for and expect
the Lord!
Psalm 31:24
If you think waiting on God is a walk in the
park think again……
If you have really waited on God you will
know the truth. It’s a fight to wait.
Psalm 31 captures it perfectly.
Waiting is not for the faint of heart.
The word says take courage!
There have been things I have been waiting
on God for. I have been waiting for months
and years! It’s been such a test. But do I regret
the wait? Not on your life. The waiting was needed.
It played an important part in my growth as a son
of God and it still does…..!
You see, waiting reveals where you are really
at with God. It reveals your heart.
The Israelites saw that they were in trouble.
They felt trapped. They ran away to hide in
caves and cracks in the rock. They hid among
the rocks, in wells, and in other holes in the
ground.
Some Hebrews even went across the Jordan
river to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul was
still at Gilgal. All the men in his army were
shaking in fear.
Samuel said he would meet Saul at Gilgal.
Saul waited there seven days. But Samuel
had not yet come to Gilgal, and the soilders
began to leave Saul. So Saul said, “Bring
me the burnt offerings and the fellowship
offerings.” Then Saul offered the burnt
offering.
As soon as Saul finished offering that sacrifice,
Samuel arrived. Saul went out to meet him.
Samuel asked, “What have you done?”
1 Samuel 13:6-11
There is such an important lesson in this story.
Waiting is its own kind of fire. The offering of the
burnt offering was reserved for the priest but
Saul even though was king did it.
God has a reason for making us wait and even
though we don’t understand we must wait. I
have been waiting for a long time for a lot
of things. It has been hard I must admit but I
see it’s what I must do.
God is in control even though it’s hard to see
at times.
If you are waiting for God, be strong. It takes a
strong person to wait on the Lord.
Let your heart take courage. The enemy wants us
to panic and take matters in our own hands.
Waiting is one of the greatest acts of trust we can
perform to God.
Impatience shows God our lack of trust in Him.
God’s promise to you may take weeks, months or
years but wait!! He can be trusted…….
He is working in the waiting! Some of His most
important work happens in the waiting so don’t
despise it.
Don’t lose heart….
You are on His heart….
He has not forgotten about you…..
He is true to His word…..
Amen

You are so right Rolain, about waiting being hard to do. When the Lord was moving me from Ariz. to Calif. I was packed up and ready to go 3 weeks before the date He gave me to leave. Every time I would cry out, “But I’m ready! Let’s get this show on the road” the Lord would say, “Wait!” I did, and the day I pulled into the yard of the house He wanted for me I learned it had just come on the market the day before my arrival! Yeah, we need to wait on Him.
Wow Sue….I really appreciate the testimonies that you share. They minister to me so much. Your testimony about how God granted you all your desires really encouraged me and now this…..
I am blessed for that…..Thank you so much!
I will continue waiting and even though it’s a challenge I will wait…..

The wait is worth it Rolain. Just don’t pray for patience – He may make you wait longer. lol I’m teasing you.
haha……that’s a relief!
I appreciate you posting this lesson, Rolain. I’ve experienced many seasons of waiting, especially over the last 3 years. God uses these circumstances to deepen my trust in Him with each passing day.
So true Hannah. Waiting will do that and that is what He is looking for, deeper faith, stronger faith, unshakable faith!
We WILL get what we waiting for and that’s not the issue. The real issue is, will we wait no matter what happens?
Thanks for sharing that Hannah!

Sharing to everyone this entry of my co-blogger Rolain.
All of our lives, we wait. We wait for the sun to shine, we also wait for the rain to stop. We wait for the train and we wait till it stops. We wait for world peace and we wait for love. We wait for dreams and promises to come true. We wait for forever. We wait. That’s everyone’s story. And we all know that WAITING is hard. Sometimes, we want to give up. But we need to keep moving forward and we need to keep our heart still… and hope that what we are waiting for will not take forever.
Hi Julienne
Thank you so much for sharing my post. I appreciate it a lot.
Waiting is hard. So with hope we wait. With faith we wait, expecting God to come through, being sure and confident the thing we are waiting for will come to pass in our lives. We wait being assured that God sees and has heard our cry!
