Speak to build.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

“Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil

word nor unwholesome or worthless talk

[ever] come out of your mouth, but only

such [speech] as is good and beneficial

to the spiritual progress of others, as is

fitting to the need and the occasion, that

it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s

favor) to those who hear it.  Ephesians 4:29

The word is clear, crystal clear on what

we are supposed to be speaking. What are

you speaking today?

Are your words wholesome and beneficial?

This is a challenge for us all……!

May we learn to release life with the words we

speak.

In a moment of anger today I spoke bad about

someone and that was not the right thing to do.

After reading the scripture after the incident I

realized something, there is no situation that will

ever warrant a bad word being spoken!

No matter how bad things get I am to speak life!

Yes, I can confront and deal with what ever is

happening but it has to be done in the right way.

Outside of that, I am to honor God with the words I

speak.

  1. An important reminder for me too Rolain. It’s easy to do when we feel emotional about someone or are just talking without thinking. May the Holy Spirit give us each the wisdom to think before we speak and edify others with our words…

  2. Amen!! Practice.. practice… practice! i fly off the handle and get impatient so easily. Like St Paul said…. I do the thingd I don”t want to do……
I need to remain in HIs Word more.. secure to t he vine.

    • May He help us in those times when we feel tempted to tear others down with our words and may He teach us how to speak to people….We surely need His grace!
      And His word!
Have a blessed week and thank you.

  3. My husband and I were discussing this the other day. We felt we were being too critical about events and people while talking so we decided to watch our mouths. Ephesians 4:29 is our verse! (=

    • It is crazy how easy it is to tear down people! May God help you and your husband as you make a decision to watch your words!!!
      Thanks Christa.

  5. Thanks for sharing this lesson, Rolain. Speak Life. This is exactly what my family has been walking through in our morning devotional time this year.

    • You welcome Hannah!
As we honor God with the words we speak we are blessed….May He help us indeed!!
Enjoy what’s left of your week!
      God bless!
