He knew all along…..

As I look back at my life I realize how God had a plan for me. There were times when it didn’t seem like it but He had a plan…….

– As a child going through abuse He had a plan for me
– Being told by my teachers I would amount to nothing, He had a plan
– When my family fell apart and got divorced He had a plan
– When I had to move in with my grand mother because of the divorce He had a plan
– On days when I constantly tore myself down (which was all the time) He had a plan for me
– When people laughed at me because I stammered He had a plan
– During times of hopelessness and despair over my future He had a plan

A lot has happened but God has been true. I couldn’t see Him at work through all that at the time but I see now how He kept me alive and safe. He preserved my destiny in spite of how messed up my life was. It’s amazing to think as I was going through all that, God had a plan already planned out for me. When I lost hope and belief in anything good God had something amazing in store for me. I didn’t even know Him for crying out loud but He had something in store for me, when I was in fear of being abused He had a plan for me, when my heart was broken because I thought I was a nobody God knew the plans He had set up for me……And that is what God does. I believe it is just the beginning and I look forward to more.
You might be going through trials and hardships that seem unbeatable but the fact is that God has a plan for you. Your life might be in pieces but know God has a plan for you. You might be abused at home but know God has a plan. You might be in the darkest of  nights in your life but know that God has a plan for you. He has so much in store for you. Don’t give up, don’t quit. He knows who you are and He knows what you are going through……He will never leave you. Don’t believe the lies. Trust in Him.

  1. Hi Rolain: It is difficult to see God’s plan when we’re in the midst of the turmoil but when He brings us through it we suddenly have 20/20 vision. 🙂 I’ve done the same thing. Looked back and am amazed how He’s brought me so far and through so much. He is faithful to carry out His plan if we’ll allow Him to. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Rolain, in reading your post, I was reminded of something my pastor preached. It is kind of similar, but kind of different. But kind of similar, too. lol. Anyway, my pastor and his wife are going through a situation where their two adult sons have been diagnosed with serious illnesses – one has cancer and I don’t remember what the other one has, but it is not good. (Thank you to anyone who might read this and remember them in prayer.)

My pastor talked about John 9:1-3 where Jesus and his disciples saw a man who was blind from birth and his disciples asked him who sinned that he was born blind. Jesus said, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.”

“But that the works of God should be revealed in him.” In your case, you were sinned against so that is where the situation is different. But you are so right that God has a plan. I find that so very comforting. God bless you.

    • Hi Karen.
I will be praying for your Pastor’s sons. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for them.

You are right, what your pastor shared is kinda similar but kinda different but kinda similar too….haha

I like the point you brought up through John 9.
The man went through hard times so the works of God should be revealed in him!
The works of God will be revealed in all of us no matter what we are going through…..That is His plan!!!
      That’s a great point, thanks! 🙂

  3. Dear brother Rolain,
What a comforting and encouraging thought 🙂 Same as knowing God’s answer, find out what is God’s plan for us sometimes like a mistery that we don’t even know and beyond of our mind. But He has a wonderful promise as written in Jeremia 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Many love and blessing to you, brother 🙂

    • I love that scripture Karina!! He is the One who has the plan and we must trust Him even if things don’t make sense. Thank you for that Karina.
      Have a great weekend!

  4. Hi Rolain! I loved your comments on Anna’s recent post and I had to check out your blog. Very inspiring and uplifting message in this post! God has a plan no matter how bleak our situation. Amen! I can relate to you in many ways. God is faithful and good and trustworthy! You have a message that will inspire many to seek Him! Blessings in Christ!

  5. Truly God has plans more than we can fathom. We are rest assured that God’s plans are more wonderful than our plans. Whatever we are encountering, good or bad, always remember, that He had done wonderful things before to His believers, and truly, he will do it again.
“Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. – Psalms 40:5

Thanks for this enlightening entry. 🙂

  6. Wow. Thank you so much for sharing! It’s so hard not to know what the future will hold. But looking back and seeing that God has had your back before, helps remind us that He still does today.
