When we can’t see God’s plan for us……

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

Luke 5:4, 5

There is a something I have been declaring to God for the past couple of days which says,

I can’t see Lord! But I make a decision to trust You.

I have come to a place where there are a lot of things that don’t make sense.A lot of things that are happening that I don’t understand. I don’t have control over a lot of things, a lot! I can’t see the whole picture. But even in these circumstances I make a decision to trust God. Like Peter who had been fishing for the whole night and caught nothing. Jesus told him to cast his net and even though he didn’t understand, he obeyed God. He couldn’t see the end result but he just obeyed. That is how I feel.

You may be unclear of the future, or unclear about other things that are happening in your life but God is in control. He can be trusted. He sees everything. He sees the beginning and the end. When things get confusing, when things are unclear, you can either fret and panic or wait on God. You can trust God. He has a plan for you and even though you may not see the whole picture trust in Him.

Let us be like Peter and just obey. Let us be like Peter and just trust!

“Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because You say so, I will let down the nets.”

God bless

Rolain

    • Hi Ashley.
I have to admit that it’s not easy to stay positive. It’s a fight to stay positive. I struggle staying positive and it’s by the grace of God I am. At times I only have the word to hold on to and nothing else! It’s hard but it is also something I have set my mind on. Even though I cannot see all of God’s plan for my life and honestly, I don’t think I will ever come to a point where I will ever see the whole picture because God wants me to constantly trust Him and because His plan for me is just too big. And that is the same for you as well. If He had to show us everything He has in store for us we would not be able to handle it. We would give up and call it quits because we would literally be afraid of the sheer magnitude of the calling….that is the way I see it.

That was a long way of just saying it’s a fight to stay positive. It’s not easy. 🙂

      Thanks for the comment Ashley!

      • Rolain, your posts are always so encouraging. I’m always excited to see that you’ve made a new post. I think God really speaks through you to help encourage others in their walk with Him. Thanks for being willing to be his instrument!

  1. Dear Rolain
This was a great thought. We cannot reveal what is God’s plan for us. But, He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) God’s plan is always the best for all of us. We just need trust and obey! Wonderful writing. Many blessings to you.

    • Hi Karina
At times, I wish I could see all that God has for me. But then I guess that would eliminate faith! God’s plan is best! Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it….. 🙂

  2. Wow! this is a very timely post for me. There are so many things that seems unclear right now, or not even making sense. But God said, “be courageous and have faith.” I think I’ll hold on to that! 🙂

  3. Rolain, many times we struggle to place God inside our small box of human logic. He does not fit there, any more than He fits inside our small box of plans or agendas. He is definitely in the driver’s seat. Just as we would trust a taxi driver to get us to a destination in an unfamiliar city, we must trust that God knows the best path for our journey here on earth. He always has the best perspective, knows the pitfalls and roadblocks, because He knows the roads ahead.

His mind is also able to hold opposing thought while ours cannot. While we may be confused (just as the apostles were at one time), He is always clear. When I find myself anxious in the waiting, I go back to my favorite Scripture: “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.” Psalm 91:4

    • Hi Susan!
Thank you for your comment. The comparision you made between the taxi driver and God has really stuck with me! That makes so much sense!!! He is the who knows the best way to
get me where I need to go.

Thank you for sharing. It really encourages me concerning my future.

  6. In our finite world, we perceive world through senses. As Christians, we perceive our world through our sixth sense – faith!
